China has entered the 21st century, the Internet has entered an era of rapid development, especially in recent years, with the emergence of five G, China’s Internet development has entered a new journey, with the rapid development of the Internet, China’s various industries can not do without the Internet, whether real estate, financial industry or even education industry. In recent years, under the influence of the newly created “Internet” education model, the English teaching methods of major colleges and universities have also undergone great reform. A new teaching mode, which combines the means of past education and teaching with modern information network, makes teaching no longer restricted by time and space. This kind of teaching mode can not only improve students’ interest in learning, meet the needs of modern students, but also improve the quality of English teaching in colleges and universities. This paper further discusses the mixed teaching mode of college English under the environment of Internet education.

The development and promotion of Internet emerging technology has brought incomparable practical significance and new development ecology for College English education industry. As a significant part of College English teaching. University English audio-visual-oral course undertakes the significant task of strengthening English listening and speaking ability, broadening international vision and improving intercultural communication ability. Due to the “Internet plus”, the education pattern of College English reading, writing, oral English and listening can adopt a blended teaching mode to boost the on-and offline education of audio-visual and intelligent education. The paper first analyzes the common problems in the traditional college and university English language education mode, and puts forward the concept of blended teaching mode, and concludes the path and measures of the reform of College English language teaching mode under the Internet Plus background.

The modernization of industry is inseparable from the development of English teaching.Under the background of "Internet plus", constructing an ecological mode of College English teaching has become an effective way to promote the reform of College English teaching. Based on the analysis of the imbalance of the function of the Internet plus teaching structure, the imbalance between the coordination functions of the ecological subjects, the imbalance between the ecological subjects and the Internet information technology, this paper puts forward the concept of improving the information literacy of the teaching subject and innovating the "teaching and learning". This paper expounds the idea of creating a network ecological teaching environment and giving full play to teachers' guiding role. At present, our society has gradually developed into an Internet-based society. Driven by the development of the Internet, many areas including education have begun to reform and innovate. Many colleges and universities in China have always adopted the traditional teaching methods, for instance, using a unidirectional teaching method or teaching in a fixed place. In the era of Internet, these methods fail to meet the needs of both parents and students. Subsequently, with the emergence of Internet Plus technology, the limitations that were originally found in the development of English teaching in colleges and universities can be overcome. By combining virtuality and reality, a new mode of simultaneous online and offline teaching has been realized, making English teaching no longer affected by the limitation of space.

In terms of English teaching in China, English teaching mode, there are some drawbacks. The interaction between teachers and students is very insufficient, which cannot fully mobilize the enthusiasm of students. The purpose of this study is to explore a new way for English teaching mode, hoping to explore better English teaching methods and improve students’ English performance. This paper focuses on the characteristics of College English (CE) interactive teaching mode based on the Internet of Things technology, discusses the practical application of the Internet of Things technology in College English interactive teaching, and makes a simple research on the interactive teaching mode of College English based on the Internet of Things (IoT). Students from two natural classes in our city were selected as the research objects and divided into an experimental group and control group. The overall English levels of the two classes were similar, and the study lasted for a semester. Research tools include questionnaires, writing tests, and interviews. Statistical software was used to analyze the data in detail. Before and after the experiment, the test results of the experimental class and the control class were tested by independent sample t-test and paired sample t-test. The experimental results show that the College English interactive teaching mode based on the Internet of Things is welcomed by students, and the experimental effect is significant. The overall average score of the experimental group increased by 13.6 points, while that of the control group increased by 4.2 points. The gap between the two groups was very obvious. As far as the scores of each part of the English test paper are concerned, the scores of each part of the experimental group are also higher than those of the control group.
