Usage of information technologies for increasing quality of transport operations

Among the whole cycle of interconnected technological operations for crop and livestock production, transport operations play a significant part: transportation of seed grain, forage, fertilizers, product transportation to storage and selling places. Transport operations account for 15-25% of the production cost. According to the analysis of recent research, the development and introduction of new methods for ensuring the quality and safety of production. For a tractor on transport works the task of increasing the functional precision at which it is solved its deviation from the roadway configuration (traffic corridor) during the movement is assessed. In this case the problem for short-term one-time and repeated, long-term discrete and continuous impact of the driver on the tractor steering control is solved. For these operating modes of a tractor during transport works, the methodology of functional stability providing of a hydro-level steering control is substantiated. Based on the reasoned analytical model of the tractor spin during transport works, an express method of diagnosing the technical state of the tractor steering has been elaborated. It is based on the comparison of the angular accelerations of the tractor and the steering wheel when the motion direction is changed or adjusted.

In the age of globalization 4.0, the problem of insufficient preparation of supranational structures for leveling the negative consequences of the integration of information technologies into all spheres of human activity is becoming more acute, which puts on the agenda the question of the real effectiveness of their activities. There is no alternative to establishing and deepening the information type of society in both the medium and long term. International organizations and companies, as well as integration associations, should take into account the relevant changes taking place in the world economy in the organization of their activities. The purpose of the study is to identify the role of foreign trade in the development of modern supranational structures and to identify among them those which can really cope with the challenges of globalization 4.0. The research methodology was based on the basic principles of synthesis and analysis of data on 35 countries of the world from different continents and with different levels of economic development, which either have maintained stable positions in the level and quality of life of the population over the past decades, or those that have managed to make the transition from a country with a developing economy to a developed one. The authors tried to identify the influence of the foreign trade activities of the member states of supranational structures on the success of their development. The result of the study was the identification of stronger positions of international companies and integration associations that have achieved complex forms of cooperation over international organizations. It is shown that the main way to achieve the appropriate leadership is the activity of their member countries in foreign trade processes in general, and most importantly — in the export of information technologies, in particular. The latter gives the relevant supranational structures unique unlimited benefits, and their participants the opportunity to preserve their sovereignty and guarantee national security.

The chapter deals with the problems of information technologies’ quality aspects and their importance for the state and public administration, e-governance, and e-democracy. The concept of quality is defined, and it is demonstrated that for quality evaluation, the clarification of needs and specification of exact requirements represents a key problem. The chapter focuses on general quality management and specifically on quality of ICT-solutions. The ISO/IEC software product quality and data quality is thereafter briefly presented. The principle of quality evaluation based on the quality decomposition into several characteristics is also described along with the principles of measurement theory. Finally, this is supplemented by selected approaches for expert rating of trends for ICT-solutions having a direct impact on long-term quality prediction.

Abstract Purpose: This article addresses several intervention approaches that aim to improve life for individuals with severe aphasia. Because severe aphasia significantly compromises language, often for the long term, recommended approaches focus on additional domains that affect quality of life. Treatments are discussed that involve increasing participation in personally relevant life situations, enhancing environmental support for communication and participation, and improving communicative confidence. Methods: Interventions that have been suggested in the aphasia literature as particularly appropriate for people with severe aphasia include training in total communication, training of communication partners, and activity specific training. Conclusion: Several intervention approaches can be implemented to enhance life with severe aphasia.

The organizational structure of long-term care (LTC) facilities often removes the rehab department from the interdisciplinary work culture, inhibiting the speech-language pathologist's (SLP's) communication with the facility administration and limiting the SLP's influence when implementing clinical programs. The SLP then is unable to change policy or monitor the actions of the care staff. When the SLP asks staff members to follow protocols not yet accepted by facility policy, staff may be unable to respond due to confusing or conflicting protocol. The SLP needs to involve members of the facility administration in the policy-making process in order to create successful clinical programs. The SLP must overcome communication barriers by understanding the needs of the administration to explain how staff compliance with clinical goals improves quality of care, regulatory compliance, and patient-family satisfaction, and has the potential to enhance revenue for the facility. By taking this approach, the SLP has a greater opportunity to increase safety, independence, and quality of life for patients who otherwise may not receive access to the appropriate services.
