Abstraks Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan-kesalahan umum yang biasanya ditemukan pada mahasiswa suku Sunda yang ada di jurusan Bahasa dan Sastra Inggris tahun ajaran 2013 dalam mengikuti matakuliah pronounciation, khususnya pada masalah bunyi mendesis. Adapun fokus penelitian ini ditujukan pada mahasiswa baru yang berlatarbelakang budaya Sunda dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui keakurasian pengucapan kata-kata yang mengandung unsur desisan/desahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif. Peneliti sebagai pengumpul data melakukan hal-hal sebagai berikut: melalui observasi langsung terhadap mahasiswa suku Sunda. Merekam atau mencatat cara pengucapan (pronounciation) dan menganalisis kesalahan-kesalahannya berdasrkan konsep Error Analisis dari beberapa sumber. Hasil penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa mahasiswa yang berasal dari Sunda pada umumnya bnyak melakukan kesalahan dalam pengucapan kata-kata yang mengandung desahan. Dengan demikian hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan koreksi dan masukan bagi para pelajar atau mahasiswa yang berasal dari Sunda.---Abstract This study is aimed to find out the errors that commonly made by Sundanese student of English Letters Department in the year 2013 who already taken a pronunciation class, in pronouncing a fricative sounds. The reseacher focuses on freshman student who has Sundanese cultural background to know their accuracy in pronouncing some fricative’s words. The reseacher uses qualitative method on writing his thesis. He also analyzes the collected data through descriptive analysis technique in order to reach the objective of the research. The reseacher involves himself to collect data by observing the respondents, recording their pronunciation and analyzing the error on their pronunciation based on theories of error analysis which are taken from some relevant references. On the conclusion, the reseacher finds that Sundanese student of English Letters Department are made some error on their pronunciation. Error of omission and error of addition are found on the vowels and consonant sound except the fricatives sound. While error of selection, is occurred both on the fricatives sound and the rest of sound. The reseacher also finds that overgeneralization is one of the reasons why the Sundanese student made errors on their pronunciation.

<p align="center"><strong>ABSTRACT</strong></p><p> </p><p>The purpose of this research is to analyze grammatical error made by  the third semester students of unindra PGRI University in their writing. The researcher uses descriptive qualitative method in order to investigate errors in writing made by the three learners.  The researcher used the descriptive analysis technique with the percentage of the data. The researcher limited the research of grammatical errors only for three categories namely omission, misinformation, and addition. The result shows that the total grammatical errors made by the three learners are 39 errors. The highest number of learner error was done in tenses, which is 19 errors or  48,7%, preposition errors 12 errors or 30,8%, and singular/plural noun 8 errors or 20,5%.  The most categories of errors made by the three learners were in omission 14 errors or 35,9% and misinformation categories 14 errors or 35,9%, meanwhile for the rest category, addition category 11 errors or 28,2%. None participant made grammatical error on singular/plural noun of misinformation category. This research is very important because the teachers/lecturers could find out the appropriate strategy to teach and finally, it can improve the learners’ skill of writing.</p><p><strong>Key words</strong>: Error Analysis, Gramatical, Students’ writing.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p align="center"><strong>ABSTRAK</strong></p><p> </p><p>Tujuan peneletian ini untuk menganalisa kesalahan tatabahasa  yang dibuat oleh mahasiswa semester tiga universitas Indraprasta PGRI dalam penulisan karangan mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif guna menginvestigasi kesalahan dalam menulis yang dibuat oleh tiga mahasiswa/i. Menyajikan data dalam bentuk presentase. Peneliti membatasi penelitian kesalahan tatabahasa ini hanya tiga kategori, yaitu penghilangan, kesalahan informasi, dan penambahan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa jumlah kesalahan tatabahasa yang dibuat oleh ketiga mahasiswa/i tersebut adalah 39 kesalahan. Kesalahan terbanyak adalah kesalahan dalam tensis, yaitu 19 kesalahan atau 48,7%, kata depan 12 kesalahan atau 30,8%, dan kata benda tunggal/jamak 8 kesalahan atau 20,5%. Sementara itu kesalahan terbanyak dalam hal kategoti ialah penghilangan 14 kesalahan atau 35,9%, kesalahan informasi yaitu 14 kesalahan atau 35,9%, sementara itu kesalahan kategori dalam hal penambahan sebanyak 11 kesalahan atau 28,2%. Tak satupun dari mahasiswa/i membuat kesalahan tatabahasa  kata benda tunggal/jamak untuk kategori kesalahan informasi. Penelitian ini sangat berfaedah karena para guru/dosen dapat menemukan strategi mengajar yang tepat. Pada akhirnya, dapat menambah  keahlian mahasiswa/i dalam penulisan mereka.</p><p><strong>Key Words</strong>: Analisis kesalahan, Tata bahasa, Penulisan mahasiswa/i.</p>

Think-Pair-Share technique is one of the cooperative learning strategies that promote student involvement in the classroom. This strategy makes students engaged in in-class activities such as discussions and provides opportunities to share their ideas with others. The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share strategy in teaching speaking skill for secondary students. A qualitative method with a descriptive analysis was undertaken in this study. The sample was twenty students of eighth grade. The data was collected through interviews, observation, and document analysis. The data analysis technique used was presented in a descriptive form. The results indicated the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share technique during the learning process took place following the stages that have been stated in the learning process plan made by the teacher. Appreciation for the implementation of the Think-Pair-Share technique both from students is quite good. Students stated that they can overcome the constraints in the learning process of speaking activity through Think-Pair-Share.

<p><strong>This research article writing aims to describe East Ghouta post the deliverance of Bashar al-Assad based on the perspective of phenomenology study of Edmund Husserl. The issues to be studied are: (1) </strong><strong>h</strong><strong>ow did the East Ghouta conflict start, Syria?</strong><strong>; and</strong><strong> (2) </strong><strong>h</strong><strong>ow is Ghouta Timur after the release of Bashar al-Assad ?. The object under study is the national and international online news media. The research method used is qualitative method. Data collection is used with watch and note techniques. Data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis technique. To test the validity of data, the technique used is triangulation technique. The results of this study are: (1) East Ghouta </strong><strong>c</strong><strong>onflicts, Syria started on March 15, 2011. In addition to the background of the Arab Spring events, it turns out the level of emotionality of the President, Bashar al-Assad is quite lit whenever there is something that is not in his heart, which eventually led to hundreds of thousands of civilian lives lost and millions more fled</strong><strong>; and</strong><strong> (2) </strong><strong>a</strong><strong>fter 6 years of slipping into a totally inhumane empire, </strong><strong>Ghouta</strong><strong> were finally freed from the shackles of their own warden by Bashar al-Assad.</strong></p><p><strong><em>Keywords</em></strong> - <em>East Ghouta, deliverance, Bashar al-Assad, phenomenology</em></p>

Economic inequality in Indonesia is growing with increasing poverty caused by unequal distribution. This can be seen in the number of poor people in 2020 reaching 27.55 million people compared to September 2019 reaching 24.79 million people. All government efforts to resolve economic disparities have been carried out, such as distribution of taxes, infrastructure, the flow of BLM funds, RPJMN. However, these efforts only prioritize large projects, so they have not been able to resolve the gap. Another effort is by waqf shares because the profits can be used for the benefit of the community which can be distributed evenly by the waqf manager. Share waqf is the use of funds from shareholders in the form of profits and capital distributed to waqf recipients by waqif in the form of employment, education, worship and other community needs. This study aims to determine the role of share waqf in resolving economic disparities. This study was written using a qualitative method with a literature review approach. Data collection comes from articles and books on gap settlement and the role of share waqf, as well as several government program reports. The data analysis technique used in this study is descriptive analysis. The results of this study can be concluded that share waqf has a role in resolving economic disparities by making the company's capital and stock dividends the object of waqf, then the wakif appoints a nadzir from the waqf institution to manage the waqf in the form of riil and non-riil sectors.

This research analyzed Shawshank Redemption movie, a movie by Frank Darabont. This movie told about the struggling of Andy Dufresne who was accused of the murder of his wife and her affair. This research focused on moral value of the movie. The methodology of this research is descriptive qualitative method. This study aims to found the moral values of Shawshank Redemption movie. Documentation method was used to collect the data and descriptive analysis technique to analyze the data. The results of this study are the moral values found in the Shawshank Redemption movie; honestly, hard work, unconditional love and kindness, compassion, and co-operation. Then hard work as the most dominant moral value appears in the Shawshank Redemption movie, because this moral value often occurs in this movie.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang terkandung di dalam Serat Tripama. Sumber data yang dipakai sebagai bahan penelitian adalah naskah Serat Tripama karya KGPAA Mangkunegara IV koleksi Musium Sana Budaya kode P28 Kempalan Serat Warni-Warni, SK 20 397. Naskah menggunakan bahasa Jawa disajikan dalam bentuk tembang macapat dhandhanggula berjumlah tujuh bait beraksara Jawa carik Rol 111 no.2. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif. Transliterasi teks dilakukan untuk mengkaji, mengetahui, dan menjabarkan isi teks. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan metode baca catat. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Triangulasi sumber digunakan untuk validasi data, sedangkan reliabilitas menggunakan intrarater. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Serat Tripama memuat nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang masih relevan diterapkan pada masa sekarang terutama sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter. Nilai-nilai nasionalisme dalam Serat Tripama tercermin melalui tiga tokoh pewayangan; Patih Suwanda, Raden Kumbakarna, dan Adipati Karna.Adapun nilai-nilai nasionalisme yang dapat dijadikan sebagai sarana pendidikan karakter di dalam Serat Tripama adalah cinta tanah air, semangat kebangsaan dan menghargai perbedaan.NATIONALISM VALUES IN “SERAT TRIPAMA”, BY MANGKUNEGARA IV, AS A MEANS OF CHARACTER EDUCATIONThis study attempts to uncover the nationalism values contained in Serat Tripama. The manuscript of “Serat Tripama” by KGPAA Mangkunegara IV was the main data source and it was a collection of Sana Budaya Museum, coded P28 Kempalan Warna-warni, SK 20 397. This manuscript was written in Javanese  in the form of Macapat songs (Dhandhanggula) with a total of 7 stanzas, using Javanese Carik alphabets Rol 111 number 2.  A qualitative method was employed in this study. The transliteration of the text was carried out to examine, identify, and describe the contents of the manuscript. The data were collected using the note-taking method which were then analysed using descriptive analysis technique. Triangulation of sources was used for data validation, while intrarater was carried out to ensure the reliability of the data. The results presented that “Serat Tripama” contained a number of nationalism values which are still relevant and can be applied in today’s circumstances, especially as a means of character education. The values which comprise love towards motherland, spirit of nationalism, and respect for differences were reflected through the three puppet figures: Patih Suwanda, Raden Kumbakarna, and Adipati Karna which can be used as a means of character education.

The title of this study is “The Pronunciation of English Fricatives in the Speech by a Non Native Speaker”. The topic was chosen based on the fact that most of the non-English speaking people are having difficulties with the pronunciation of the fricatives. Moreover, this study was also taking the unique characteristic of Balinese people in pronouncing the English fricative sounds which are delivered in a speech by the governor of Bali, I Made Mangku Pastika. There were two videos of his speech used in this study, the first was a formal speech from the speech of the tenth commemoration of Bali bombing tragedy, and the second speech was a non-formal speech at his interview event. This study identified the words with fricative sounds and their pronunciations according to Standard English, identified how the words are pronounced by the speaker, and identified problems that occurred in the pronunciation through spectrograms. The data were analyzed by using qualitative method with descriptive analysis technique. This study found various words with fricative sounds in both formal and non-formal speech. There were also some differentiations in the pronunciation of fricatives by the speaker, compared with in Standard English. The spectrogram analysis of the pronunciation found the exaggeration of the speaker in pronouncing the fricatives, both in his formal and non-formal speech.

In listening to speeches sometimes there is a misunderstanding in interpreting the meaning of the speech in question. Through deixis can help listeners to understand the intended meaning of utterances in speech. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to describe the types of deixis in speeches delivered by Mike Pompeo and Retno Marsudi. This study used a qualitative method using descriptive analysis as a data analysis technique. Data collection techniques used documentation techniques sourced from speeches by Mike Pompeo and Retno Marsudi. The research data was collected from 6 speeches sourced from 3 speeches delivered by Mike Pompeo and 3 speeches delivered by Retno Marsudi. The data analysis technique is by identifying and interpreting all types of deixis in speeches, classifying the types of deixis found in ministerial speeches, and making conclusions. The results show that there are five types of deixis found in Mike Pompeo speech, namely: people deixis, time deixis, place deixis, social deixis, and discourse deixis. Meanwhile, in Retno Marsudi speech, only 4 types of deixis were found, namely; people deixis, time deixis, social deixis, and discourse deixis. Differences are shown in the use of place deixis. The most dominant deixis used is person deixis in both speeches. Thus, the dominant type of deixis in speech can reflect the relationship between language structure and context that is not separated and must be communicated contextually and pragmatically. When listening to a speech, listeners can identify several types of deixis and make it easier for listeners to know the types of deixis in the speech.

Reading is one of the activities that are beneficial for people life. Reading has various benefits in everyday life. By reading, people can find various information, insights, and knowledge. By reading, a person can solve the problems of his life. Therefore, the habit of reading must be grown and improved, especially in educational institutions such as Islamic boarding schools. This research aims to describe the reading habits of the Islamic boarding schools students and the factors that influence these reading habits. The method used in this research is qualitative method. The data collection technique used is distribute questionnaires onto research subjects. The subjects of this research are 10 female students of the Sirojut Tholibin Islamic Boarding School Tulungagung. The analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the research and discussion, it can be concluded: (1) The reading habits of the students of the Sirojut Tholibin Islamic Boarding School Tulungagung can be analyzed from the duration of reading, the time used in reading books, the types of books that the students prefer (2) Factors that influence the reading habits of the students include the reading motivation of the students, the schedule of the boarding school, and the attitude of the students towards reading activities.

Independence is a condition that reflects a child becoming an independent person without being dependent on others even though still under adult supervision. This study aims to indentify the development of children's independent character value through storytelling method. This study used qualitative method through action research approach which is conducted intwo cycles. Each cycle is carried out with stage of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The samples of this study were 32 children. Data collection was conducted through observation and children's activities. Data analysis used descriptive analysis technique. The result showed that mean score of first cycle on improving children's independence have developed as expected (BSH) and developed very well (BSB), which was 9 children (28.2%). In the second cycle shown an enhancement in which the mean score gained 25 children (78.2%). it can be concluded that the storytelling method can develop  independence value of early childhood. Then, implication of this study that storytelling method can be used to develop other development value of early childhood. Abstrak Kemandirian adalah suatu kondisi yang mencerminkan seorang anak dapat berdiri sendiri tanpa bergantung pada orang lain meskipun tetap dalam pengawasan orang dewasa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengembangkan kemandirian anak melalui metode bercerita. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif melalui pendekatan tindakan kelas yang dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Setiap siklus dilakukan melalui tahapan perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan dan refleksi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 32 orang anak. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi dan unjuk kerja. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan nilai rata-rata pada siklus 1 bahwa pengembangan kemandirian anak telah berkembang sesuai harapan (BSH) dan telah berkembang sangat baik (BSB) yaitu 9 anak (28,2%). Pada Siklus II telah menunjukan peningkatan dengan nilai rata-rata 25 anak (78,2%). Penggunaan metode bercerita dapat mengembangkan kemadirian anak usia dini. Maka, implikasi kajian ini bahwa metode bercerita dapat digunakan untuk mengembangkan berbagai aspek perkembangan anak. Kata Kunci:  Kemandirian, Anak Usia Dini, Metode Bercerita
