We study the fundamental problem of allocating indivisible goods to agents with additive preferences. We consider eliciting from each agent only a ranking of her k most preferred goods instead of her full cardinal valuations. We characterize the amount of preference information that must be elicited in order to satisfy envy-freeness up to one good and approximate maximin share guarantee, two widely studied fairness notions. We also analyze the multiplicative loss in social welfare incurred due to the lack of full information with and without fairness requirements.

The problem of fair division of indivisible goods is a fundamental problem of resource allocation in multi-agent systems, also studied extensively in social choice. Recently, the problem was generalized to the case when goods form a graph and the goal is to allocate goods to agents so that each agent’s bundle forms a connected subgraph. For the maximin share fairness criterion, researchers proved that if goods form a tree, an allocation offering each agent a bundle of at least her maximin share value always exists. Moreover, it can be found in polynomial time. In this paper we consider the problem of maximin share allocations of goods on a cycle. Despite the simplicity of the graph, the problem turns out to be significantly harder than its tree version. We present cases when maximin share allocations of goods on cycles exist and provide in this case results on allocations guaranteeing each agent a certain fraction of her maximin share. We also study algorithms for computing maximin share allocations of goods on cycles.

The debate over market socialism has ignored the importance of the assumptions about the objectives of politicians in determining resource allocation. Theory and evidence suggest that totalitarian socialism does not lead to efficient resource allocation because dictators do not maximize social welfare. But democratic governments have political objectives different from social welfare as well. The authors argue that because these governments command greater resources (have more control rights) under socialism, democratic socialism (even if it could exist) is a less efficient system than democratic capitalism. Thus the political case against market socialism is even stronger than the economic case.

Background: Number of resource allocation and bidding schemes had been enormously arrived for on demand supply scheme of cloud services. But accessing and presenting the Cloud services depending on the reputation would not produce fair result in cloud computing. Since the cloud users not only looking for the efficient services but in major they look towards the cost. So here there is a way of introducing the bidding option system that includes efficient user centric behavior analysis model to render the cloud services and resource allocation with low cost. Objective: The allocation of resources is not flexible and dynamic for the users in the recent days. This gave me the key idea and generated as a problem statement for my proposed work. Methods: An online auction framework that ensures multi bidding mechanism which utilizes user centric behavioral analysis to produce the efficient and reliable usage of cloud resources according to the user choice. Results: we implement Efficient Resource Allocation using Multi Bidding Model with User Centric Behavior Analysis. Thus the algorithm is implemented and system is designed in such a way to provide better allocation of cloud resources which ensures bidding and user behavior. Conclusion: Thus the algorithm Efficient Resource Allocation using Multi Bidding Model with User Centric Behavior Analysis is implemented & system is designed in such a way to provide better allocation of cloud resources which ensures bidding, user behavior. The user bid data is trained accordingly such that to produce efficient resource utilization. Further the work can be taken towards data analytics and prediction of user behavior while allocating the cloud resources.
