This article discusses the concept of Socioenvironmental Educommunicationin the context of preschool education. An interface that emerges from the relationship between Educommunication and Environmental Education, this concept will be exposed based on a bibliographic systematization, when it becomes possible to find the contemporary intersections that arise from the use of audiovisual technology as mediation in the teaching-learning process. Such analysis will be done taking into consideration the documentary 1,2,3 Playing –Reinventing School Spaces, produced by the city of Joinville, Santa Catarina, which brings an audiovisual material made by the students. Using a quanti-qualitative approach, emerges the pedagogical power of Socioenvironmental Education, which ends up bringing to the scene language and content that project another way of thinking the school. Finally, there is a reflection on how, based on particularities, it is possible to create educational policies that contemplate the audiovisual tool in early childhood education.

AbstractThe present study aims to understand the perception of early childhood education teachers about the principles of Sensory Integration (IS), as well as the identification of signs suggestive of Sensory Processing Dysfunction (DPS) and attributions to the learning process. The sample consisted of 3 early childhood education schools that together present a total of 49 teachers, of which only 13 agreed to participate in the research, where a questionnaire was applied and a semi-structured interview was conducted with the objective of profiling these teachers. Through this collection it was possible to find a difficulty in recognizing the principles of S, as well as in the relationship of the behaviors of children who present learning difficulties with signs of SD, with an attribution of these events to family factors and child age. However, it is concluded that teachers are not prepared to deal with children who present demands related to Sensory Processing Dysfunction, and that they cannot understand the importance of better investigation and evaluation of these children, by a qualified professional such as the Occupational Therapist. Keywords: sesorial processing, learning, teaching, children. Little attention has been paid to the principles in which early childhood education affects the quality of other educational system levels in terms of quality and long-life learning processes. In this research, we discuss some challenges of early childhood education with a bearing on its impact in the upcoming years of education, significance and importance of preschool education. The main reason is to be found in theoretical and empirical insights how this first level of education can impact the contextual and situational dimensions of all kinds of learning and how the system can affect stakeholders and beneficiaries. Methodologically, as above mentioned, the research combines the theoretical and empirical approaches (literature review and survey) with particular focus on the empirical data. Through literature review we tend to emphasize the importance of preschool education and its positive effects on the process of learning. On the other side, the empirical approach provides data regarding the relationship between low attendance (in preschool classes) and the success of the child in primary education and further classes, with the aim to identify eventual weaknesses of the educational system and offer some recommendations on how the relationship between the levels of education can be improved in order to increase the general level of quality for all actors involved; pupils, educators/teachers and parents. It analyzes data from a survey of 60 pupils (divided in two groups) to identify discrepancies between those who have attended preschool classes and those who didn’t. Parents have been part of the survey as well. An interview has been conducted with 30 parents with the aim to identify their uncertainties for not sending children in pre-classes and their perceptions and satisfaction towards the educational system. The results have shown significant differences in terms of success between children attending preschool classes compared to the others, which is an important indicator of how attendance of preschool education can positively affect the system as a whole. Most of the parents interviewed communicate different reasons for not sending their children in preschool classes. Reasons prevailing are mostly related to the economic claims and parents’ skepticism and dissatisfaction towards kindergartens’ infrastructure, staff involved, etc.

The formation of the Early Childhood Education teacher is a recurring theme in many studies, showing the concern for the quality of the activities carried out with early childhood children. In pedagogy courses, in which future teachers are qualified, there is a concern with training strategies for the appropriation of multiple languages, a theme also studied due to proposals related to Childhood Pedagogy. This research aims to investigate and analyze how teachers of the pedagogy course of a private university in the city of São Paulo, in their educational practices, consider the multiple languages in the formation of teachers of early childhood education. A qualitative approach was chosen. to carry out the research, and as a methodological procedure, we have interviewed ten teachers from the pedagogy course and thirteen students from the sixth semester. The theoretical background adopted is based on the conceptions of children and early childhood education from the perspective of multiple languages. The results showed that teachers use different strategies when working with multiple languages in their disciplines. Nevertheless, such practices or strategies are aimed much more at preschool children than at daycare children.

This paper brings studies around the poetic dimension of language to approach the relationship between teaching in preschool education and the experience of being open and listening as an aesthesic way of coexisting in the world. The approximation of philosophy, arts and preschool education from the reunion between music and education highlights that listening refers to the sound of meaning, and not to the meaning of the sound to be interpreted. The dialog with the thinking of Jean-Luc Nancy, stating that the sensible sense/meaning arouses the intelligible sense/meaning and in a constant movement that is not completed or finalized, producing signification or information, appears as a philosophical resistance to the privilege of the theoretical record founded upon the western prevalence of the optical model. To be open and listening implies the resonance as the sound of sense, as the body's first or last depth. The music as a play between sound and noise, as a poetic production of ordering sound senses provoked by resonance – as a gesture of listening to the listening, contributes to question the education of babies and small children based on a body that can play with the worlds' sounds to experience the poetics of making noise as the musical power of playing with sounds and noises. Children's sonic appetite calls them to make noise for the esthesia of listening to the world in the plurality of coexistence. The gesture of being open and listening in the teaching of babies and small children points out to educative actions that consider the experience constituted by resonances and reverberations of meanings implied in the sound, a feeling of feeling (aisthesis), as share and sharing of voices, signs, gestures, shapes, of the felt meaning and the sensible meaning that gather ones-with-others in human coexistence.key words: music; listenin; early childhood education; jean-luc nancy.estar à escuta: música e docência na educação infantilresumoO ensaio aproxima estudos em torno da dimensão poética da linguagem para abordar a relação entre docência na educação infantil e experiência de estar à escuta como modo estésico de coexistir no mundo. The research was conducted aimed at finding out about the readiness of PAUD educators in teaching seen from: 1) recruitment of PAUD educators provided by PAUD managers in the city of Bandung; and 2) academic qualifications and competencies of PAUD educators in the city of Bandung. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach. Respondents are principals or managers of PAUD and PAUD educators in the city of Bandung. Data were obtained throught focus group discussion, and questionnaire. The results showed that the recruitment of PAUD educators was conducted in various ways, such as making announcements, making classified advertisements in newspapers, there were also job seekers coming directly to PAUD institutions to register as PAUD educators, and even looking through the help of friends. There are still many academic qualifications for early childhood education in the city of Bandung, but for TPA all PAUD educators are already undergraduates, but there are those who are S2 but non-educational scholars. The competencies possessed by PAUD educators are also different. The competence of TK, KB and SPS educators mostly reaches the level of affordability, but there are a small number of TPA educators who have disabilities in pedagogic competencies. The aspects of pedagogic competence that cannot be mastered by TPA teachers are, they are unable to carry out remedial and enrichment programs.

The chapter first examines at a conceptual level the links between theories of social investment and childcare expansion. Although ‘the perfect match’ between the two is often taken for granted in the specialized literature as well as in policy papers, it is here argued that a more nuance approach that ‘unpacks’ this relationship is needed. The chapter will then look for elements of variation in early childhood education and care (ECEC) expansion. Despite an increase in spending over the last two decades in many European and Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) countries, wide variation still exists in the way in which ECEC develops. A trade-off is often observed between coverage and quality of provision. A crucial dividing line that determines, to a large extent, the quality of provision in ECEC is the increasing differentiation between preschool education for children aged 3 and above and childcare for younger children.

Children spend a large amount of time each day in early childhood education and care (ECEC) institutions, and the ECEC play environments are important for children’s play opportunities. This includes children’s opportunities to engage in risky play. This study examined the relationship between the outdoor play environment and the occurrence of children’s risky play in ECEC institutions. Children (n = 80) were observed in two-minute sequences during periods of the day when they were free to choose what to do. The data consists of 935 randomly recorded two-minute videos, which were coded second by second for several categories of risky play as well as where and with what materials the play occurred. Results revealed that risky play (all categories in total) was positively associated with fixed equipment for functional play, nature and other fixed structures, while analysis of play materials showed that risky play was positively associated with wheeled toys. The results can support practitioners in developing their outdoor areas to provide varied and exciting play opportunities.
