Connectivity and human capacity in digital transformation: the exploratory hypotheses of hyper industrial

The present contribution interprets current digital transformations of work and related power dynamics through the lens of Alquati's concept of hyper-industrial society. The paper starts from a re-elaboration of Alquati's thought, mainly on the basis of the re-reading of some unpublished writings dating back to the 1990s and 2000s. In particular, it takes up the categories of (a) hyper-industrialisation, (b) enhancement versus impoverishment of human capacity, and (c) machinic subjectivity, and reconsiders them in light of current technological developments. These categories are then used as tools for analyzing three work contexts in which processes of digitization appear to be particularly intense: manufacturing, banking, and work in digital distribution platforms. This empirical exploration shows how current transformations of work can be interpreted as effects of a hyper-industrial mode, understood as an abstract organizational logic capable of dividing, standardizing and reassembling objects and knowledge.

The digital transformation is permanently changing the government, administration, and society . This process is being intensified by the much-discussed technologies of artificial intelligence, and poses a variety of challenges for parliaments and indirectly for parliamen­tary studies . Their different dimensions have not been discussed comprehensively so far, although the technological developments affect all parliamentary functions and their prem­ises . This article systematizes and structures the various effects of the age of artificial intel­ligence on parliamentary democracy . Namely, the conditions of democratic representation change, the innovation-friendly regulation of digital technologies becomes a parliamentary task, parliamentary control has to be adjusted to the use of algorithms and artificial intelli­gence in government and administration, and possibly, the epistemological and organiza­tional structures of parliamentary work might have to be adapted . This provides starting points for future detailed analyses to adequately capture these processes of change and to accompany them from different disciplinary perspectives .

Globalization, technological developments, changes in social preferences and the fact that customers become more accessible to better with cheaper prices have changed the nature of competition for businesses in the process of transition from industrial society to knowledge economy. In this competitive environment, intellectual capital is defined as the greatest competitive power for businesses. Because intellectual capital is special and unique to every business and it is the invisible assets of businesses that are known only by their own employees, covering the knowledge and skills of the employees. And businesses with intellectual capital develop and use their intellectual capital effectively; However, they can make a difference to their competitors and add value to themselves in today's competitive market. In this study, the studies are examined which made in the YÖK Thesis Center regarding the effects of intellectual capital and its sub-main factors on business performance and the importance of intellectual capital for businesses has been tried to be shown. In the studies examined, the result has been reached that intellectual capital has a positive effect on business performance.

The study aimed to identify the important role that digital transformation plays in activating and developing e-learning, as digital transformation has radically changed in all fields, especially in the field of education, as it allowed the emergence of modern educational methods and methods. With the rapid development in the world of technology and the trend of governments and institutions towards digital in all their services by providing digital services in a smooth and easy way that saves effort, time and money for the beneficiaries, in our current era all institutions have been keen to adopt the concept of digital transformation by replacing traditional digital processes, and developing plans and strategies to ensure the achievement of Its objectives are of quality and efficiency, as the digital transformation is able to create a competitive and attractive technical environment that achieves the highest levels of quality at the lowest costs, and that the spread and use of everything digital has accelerated over the past ten years Several challenges have imposed on traditional education, especially in light of the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), which makes relying on traditional educational methods difficult, so the study came with the aim of identifying the role of digital transformation (digital learning) at King Khalid University on the development and effectiveness of e-learning in light of the pandemic The paper followed the inductive approach and the qualitative approach. Observation, reports, documentary information and King Khalid University websites were used to collect data. The concepts of digital transformation as well as e-learning were addressed, and then a set of results were reached. King Khalid University is distinguished by the existence of an effective electronic system, that the technical environment for information technology has enabled King Khalid University to face the rapid change in the work environment, and the study concluded some recommendations. One of them is that digital transformation is no longer an option, rather it has become a necessity, so it is necessary to keep pace with technological developments and to benefit from them in the transformation towards digital learning.

The European Commission’s Communication on a European Green Deal sets out the objective of achieving climate neutrality by 2050, which will require a reduction in transport emissions. To this aim, digital technologies, together with connectivity and automation, are transforming traditional concepts of mobility, with a potential impact towards transport decarbonisation. New business models are emerging and giving rise to innovative mobility services including new online platforms for car-pooling, car or bicycle sharing services, freight operations, or smartphone applications offering real-time travel information and other analytics. This study provides an overview of the European Union (EU) funded research and innovation (R&I) and related technologies that are influencing the uptake of digital transformation in transport and identifies issues and challenges from a European perspective. To that end, it follows a two-tier approach that examines policy and legislative initiatives from the European Commission, highlighting possible challenges and enablers. Moreover, it analyses transport technology developments in Europe, focusing on the technology maturity from EU R&I framework programmes, using the European Commission’s Transport Research and Innovation Monitoring and Information System (TRIMIS). The technology analysis provides insights that aid policy decisions related to funding allocation in future R&I framework programmes.

Over recent decades, people’s (rural and urban) communities are facing numerous social and economic changes and challenges. Some of those challenges have been increasingly addressed through the lenses of technological developments and digitalization. In this paper, we have made a review of already existing practices while focusing on the existing implementations of the Smart Village concept and the importance of digital transformation for rural areas. We give special attention to EU policies that we are using as an already existing framework for understanding our own forthcoming examples. We have shown the parallels between the findings and insights from different regions and made an evaluation of presented practices. Our main argument stems from our own previous experiences and experiences of other research approaches, and is grounded on the argument that rural areas are not uniform, and that smart rural development has to be applied in combination with place-based approach. We present the cases of Slovenian pilot practices and support our argument by proposing the FabVillage concept.

The purpose of the article is to define and highlighting the role of digital transformation (digitalization) for libraries in the long run: efficiency and problems. Methodology. In the process of research scientific methods of analysis, synthesis, generalization of digitalization of the library industry are applied and the influence of digitalization on the formation of innovations of models of relations library-user taking into account today's civilizational challenges is determined. The scientific novelty The research consists in the analysis of online perspectives in the work of the library industry with an emphasis on key aspects of the dynamics of digital transformation (digitalization): new mobile (electronic) applications, services, application of sharing models. Further key vectors are substantiated and specific most problematic issues of digital transformation of libraries are identified. Conclusions. As a result of the research, today's steps on digitization in libraries, features of the use of platforms, virtual environment services, and sharing products were considered. The tendencies concerning the further steps in the increase of rates of digitalization are investigated. Proved: the practice of digitalization of libraries is especially relevant during the COVID pandemic period, which contributes to public access to information, self-education, as well as access to advanced technological developments, the transformation of libraries taking into account requests, according to generation theory, formation of new digitalization focus of library practices and modifications of library activities.

Especially in the EU agri-food sector, smart use of knowledge, research and innovation is the main source of productivity growth. A new digital innovation hub in Precision Agriculture can drive the digital transformation of Europe's agro-food sector, boosting innovation and growth. Moreover, this hub could also play an important role in the exploitation of opinion leadership in agricultural technology and productivity.

Digital transformation seems to have been materialized to a large extent by Greek Banks, which continue to innovate in Retail Banking continuously improving their websites and customer choice options. It is important to mention that the Banking sector in Greece has gone on the same footing as banks abroad and is barely able to provide services and services, despite the adverse economic conditions. The paper examines the advantages, disadvantages and the role of the various factors that generally apply to the digital transformation of the Banking Sector. The research revealed that the banking sector in Greece seems to have followed the worldwide technological developments and has made the necessary changes to turn any digital achievements into its own benefit.

In addition, the definition of digital economy, the concept of digital economy, the technological developments specific to digital economy, the share of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in the gross national product of a country, and the analysis of certain indicators of communication and information are also covered in the article.
