This study explores characteristics of caregivers’ mediating behaviours for supporting preschool children’s emergent literacy development mediated by mobile technologies (i.e. laptops, tablets and smart phones). Design-based research in the action research framing was used to examine the process of adult-child interaction and communication in nine Involve Me workshops at five public libraries between 2013 and 2014 in Taiwan. A deductive-inductive thematic analysis identified examples to illustrate main forms of caregivers’ mediating behaviours: ‘focusing’, ‘affecting’, ‘expanding’, ‘encouraging’ and ‘regulating behaviour’. This study embraces the role of media mentorship in libraries, but acknowledges such a role demands training for library practitioners in order to effectively support children’s and families’ literary needs in the digital age.

The authors’ own interpretation of the category of «marketing» is provided, which means the instrument of activity and competitiveness of economic entities, the existence and use of which is determined by the constant study of the needs, tastes and requirements of consumers in any market in order to fully satisfy them and, as a result, make a profit. The trends in marketing development are outlined taking into account the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the crisis and uncertainty generated by it in all sectors of the economy. The main trends in marketing are: emergence of the novel along with expansion of the boundaries and areas of use of the extant type of marketing; expanding the possibilities of the Internet for the purpose of marketing research, communication, sale of ware; departure from standardization and the need for greater adaptation of the marketing complex to narrow market segments, which is caused by increasing competition; establishing partnerships and transitioning to relationship marketing; strengthening the role of strategic planning; priority on providing excellent customer service; use of digital technologies. In conditions of uncertainty, the use of modern technologies that rely on data on the purchase process should be of paramount importance among marketing tools. Abstract. The present study aimed at evaluating if the three-item sense of coherence (SOC) scale developed by Lundberg and Nystrom Peck (1995) can be effectively used for research purpose in both nonclinical and clinical samples. To provide evidence that it represents adequately the measured construct we tested its validity in a nonclinical (N = 658) and clinical sample (N = 764 patients with cancer). Results obtained in the nonclinical sample attested a positive relation of SOC – as measured by the three-item SOC scale – with Antonovsky’s 13-item and 29-item SOC scales (convergent validity), and with dispositional optimism, sense of mastery, anxiety, and depression symptoms (concurrent validity). Results obtained in the clinical sample confirmed the criterion validity of the scale attesting the positive role of SOC – as measured by the three-item SOC scale – on the person’s capacity to respond to illness and treatment. The current study provides evidence that the three-item SOC scale is a valid, low-loading, and time-saving instrument for research purposes on large sample.
