The general perspective of the chapter is focused on discovering marketing knowledge based on Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems. The question is: “How to do automate processes in the implemented CRM system to discover the knowledge that is useful for marketing?” It is a natural question because the stored data creates a large volume and it is difficult to set up a marketing with hands. This chapter focuses on finding the necessary product specifications to automate the marketing needs this CRM system must offer to be optimal in today's modern global society. The existing controversy is between IT for everyday use, real IT capabilities, human skills, and knowledge to support more complex implemented processes. Emphasis is placed on automation and intelligence. The analysis shows that CRM systems are interested in managing customer relationships in the form of a single agent or process to perform the necessary actions using implemented algorithms that utilize various intelligence, statistical methods, multi-criteria decision-making, and automated learning predictions.

Customer Relationship Management (CRM) applications have gained primary attention in large service industry sectors, such as the financial, telecommunications and hotel industries. However, relatively few researchers have studied CRM in the context of Professional Service Organizations (PSOs). PSOs are found across a broad spectrum of service offerings and they share several key aspects. Some of these aspects include the following: PSOs are high in people-processing features, have close contact with customers, and are high in credence attributes. Given this critical reliance on the customer, most PSOs would benefit from implementing a CRM system to facilitate their business and sustain customer relationships. This paper compares marketing practices and client management approaches in PSOs between those utilizing and those not utilizing a CRM system. The building industry is used as a case study. The paper introduces the CRM concept, describing its significance to the building industry and presents the methodology and findings from an exploratory research investigation. It also presents a framework for CRM applications in PSOs and highlights a future research agenda tempered by some limitations of the research study.

Abstract This article discusses performance drivers of CRM projects and is particularly relevant for managers seeking to optimize their companies CRM efforts. Despite the billions of dollars that have been spent on the implementation of customer relationship management (CRM) systems, many of the adopting companies are unhappy with the results. This can be due to two reasons: first, either the CRM projects are poorly implemented and thus do not perform accordingly, or, second, companies expect too much from CRM systems. This research examines how technological and organizational implementations as well as internal support affect the objectives of CRM with regard to initiating, maintaining, and retaining customer relationships. The results indicate that internal support is an important factor for the performance of CRM implementation. Further, it helps to have a clear focus for a CRM system to specifically address diverse functions such as the acquisition, maintenance, and retention of customers and to tailor implementation effort to the needs of the major functions

The implementation of Customer relationship Management (CRM) Systems has been increased within organizations for the purposes of increasing customer loyalty accompany with decreasing expenses and increasing revenues. The perception of the benefits associated with the implementation of CRM systems is an essential step for the adoption and implementation of CRM systems. Therefore, this paper presents the study conducted to investigate the perception of the CRM systems in the private hospitals in the northern part of India as there is a lack of adoption of CRM systems in hospitals. Qualitative research approach that is interview based was adapted in the study. The management of 10 private hospitals in the northern part of India was interviewed. The results reveal that no hospital has adopted CRM system. In addition, there is a substantial lack of understanding of the benefits of CRM systems in hospitals. Some hospitals claim that the implementation of CRM system is not of their priorities and there are much important projects as the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMD). However, other hospitals indicate for an existence of future plan for the adoption and implementation of CRM system. Another issue that needs to be taken into consideration by the vendors of CRM systems is the high costs associated with the implementation of CRM systems in hospitals. Indeed, both the vendors of CRM systems and the managers of hospitals hold the responsibility of the lack of CRM systems implementation in hospitals.

Abstract Subgroups of ependymoma, especially RELA fusion-positive and posterior fossa type A tumors, are associated with poor prognosis. Curative therapeutic strategies have not yet been identified. We set up a high-throughput drug screening (HTS) pipeline to evaluate clinically established compounds (n=196) in primary ependymoma cultures (n=12). As culturing ependymoma is challenging, assay miniaturization to 1536-well microplates emerged as a key feature to process HTS despite smallest cell numbers. DNA methylation profiling showed that entity and subgroup affiliation from primary diagnosis was maintained in primary cultures, as assessed through molecular neuropathology 2.0 based classification (MNP 2.0, Capper, D. et al., Nature, 2018). A comparison of HTS data of ependymoma and other pediatric brain tumor models (n=48) revealed a remarkable chemoresistance in vitro. However, we identified Neratinib, an irreversible ERBB2 inhibitor, as the most prominent candidate which was preferentially active in a subset of the investigated ependymoma cultures (n=5). Combinatory treatment with Copanlisib, a PI3K inhibitor, was able to overcome resistance to single agent treatment using Neratinib in established cell lines of ependymoma (n=3) and 2/4 primary cultures for which combinatory treatment could be tested. Finally, we validated efficacy of Neratinib combined with Copanlisib in mice bearing ependymoma xenografts which revealed significantly reduced tumor size compared to vehicle-treated animals. In summary, our study demonstrates that HTS may reveal targeted therapies for pediatric brain tumors. Specifically, we found a synergistic interaction of Neratinib and Copanlisib for treatment of ependymoma, thereby providing a novel therapeutic approach in an otherwise largely chemoresistant entity.
