With the rapid development of science and technology, modern design has become increasingly complex, with the factors needed to be considered more various, find the optimal solution to solve problems, which is the real meaning of product design. In this paper, by analyzing the domestic and foreign research present situation of the modern theory of the modular design, according to the characteristics of complex product system, it will be introduced to the concept design of complex product system modular design, proposed in view of the function of the turbine division method, based on CATIA software research and development of the system design of a turbine, that can effectively shorten the development time, reduce development costs, to lay a good foundation for its innovation, having great theoretical and practical significance for turbine technology development.

The service-oriented manufacturing is a new advanced manufacturing model, which combines service and manufacturing intensively. Firstly, this paper elaborates the origin of service-oriented manufacturing and the concept of “product system”. Then, it analyzes the characters and value of service-oriented manufacturing. At last, several key directions of future research in service-oriented manufacturing are proposed.

The product design is divided into conceptual design and improved design in the field of industrial design in China featuring with free semantic design and pure styling design. With systematic process ignored, the product design could hardly guide its practice. All cultural phenomena are symbol phenomena, so is product design as an important cultural creation on which progress of human society depends. The product system design under the guidance of the principle of semantics makes some factors as symbols of product, including function, material, structure, Man-Machine, image shape, math physics, etc, to probe the specific process and method of code switch in the course of product design system.

The mechanical system design method based on the Service Oriented Architecture was proposed through the service-oriented architecture technology and mechanical system design theory analysis .The machine arm system design finite element analysis process was presented. Based on the TomCat platform design, Service oriented architecture design of the robot arm system design based on finite element analysis process were established. This design method was verified technically.
