Background: Hypertensive disorders during pregnancy are the most common medical complication seen during pregnancy, affecting around 5-10% of all pregnancies. Raised blood pressure in pregnancy is the major cause of fetomaternal morbidity and mortality. The most important feature in preeclampsia is hypertension which is supposed to be due to vasospastic phenomenon in kidney, uterus, placenta and brain. Altered lipid synthesis leading to decrease in PGI2:TXA2 ratio is also supposed to be an important way of pathogenesis in pregnancy induced hypertension.Methods: This one-year prospective case control study total 200 pregnant women attending antenatal care and admitted in eclampsia ward fulfiling the inclusion criteria were studied. Serum lipid profile was estimated by semiautomatic analyzers. Statistical analysis of data was done by student’s t-test and p-value.Results: Mean total cholesterol in pregnancy induced hypertension was 278.5±52.52 mg/dl and normal pregnancy was 245.47±20.075 mg/dl. Mean triglycerides in pregnancy induced hypertension was 249.88±92.575 mg/dl and normal pregnancy was 206.89±46.345 mg/dl. Mean HDL in pregnancy induced hypertension was 43.69±4.135 mg/dl and normal pregnancy was 49.9±6.501 mg/dl. Mean LDL in pregnancy induced hypertension was 174.43±39.083 mg/ dl and normal pregnancy was 151.22±19.92 mg/dl. Mean VLDL in pregnancy induced hypertension was 46.885±15.143 mg/dl and in normal pregnancy was 40.964±9.061 mg/dl, total cholesterol, low density lipoprotein, very low density lipoprotein, triglycerides were increased in pregnancy induced hypertension when compared to normal pregnancy, which is statistically significant.Conclusions: We concluded that the Patient who developed pre-eclampsia have abnormal lipid profile. This abnormal lipid profile is responsible for endothelial dysfunction. This endothelial dysfunction may play a key role the pathophysiology of pre-eclampsia. Early detection of these parameters may help patient by preventing complications and is going to aid in better management of pre-eclampsia.

Only one group was investigated for serum lipid profile in third trimester of pregnancy in which included all PIH patients admitted in labor room in Department of Obstetrics in Jhalawar Medical College and was substantially compared with the normal values of Lipids in women. In this study we investigate the role of lipid profile in PIH. LDL value increase, HDL value decrease, TG value increase and VLDL value increase in PIH patients and also TG : HDL ration increased significantly in PIH patients. Dyslipidemia mediated activation of endothelial cells to placentally derived endothelial disturbing factors like lipid peroxides and trophoblastic components as possible contributors for pathogenesis of PIH. Thus assessment of blood lipids may be helpful in preventions of complications in PIH. Key Words: Bloodlipids, PIH, Dyslipidemia, Triglycerides, Low Density Lipoprotiens, High Density Lipoprotiens.

Abstract                     Objective:Uncovering the connection of serum lipid profile (total cholesterol, triglyceride, HDL, LDL, VLDL) with preeclampsia in pregnancy and postpartum, and its outcome. Method:This is a cross-sectional comparative analytic study Result:From 28 preeclampsia subject were found, mean value of systole 165.36 mmHg and 105.71 diastole. Serum lipid profile in pregnancy and postpartum has a significant differences and correlated with preeclampsia, total cholesterol 234.5 mg/dl and 192.71 mg/dl, p=0.000; medium positive in pregnancy with systole r=0.461; p=0.013, weak positive with diastole r=0.380; p=0.046; postpartum with systole medium positive r=0.615; p=0.001, and weak positive with diastole r=0.317; p=0.100. LDL 140.5 mg/dl and 102.5 mg/dl, p=0.000; pregnancy and systole r=0.446; p=0,017; and postpartum were medium positive r=0.546; p=0.003. HDL 51.5 mg/dl and 43.5 mg/dl, p=0.003; not correlated with BP. Triglyceride 268.89 mg/dl and 208.96 mg/dl, p=0.000; pregnancy r=0.516; p=0.005; postpartum r= 0.515; p=0.005 has medium correlation with systole. VLDL 53.78 mg/dl and 41.79, p=0.000; pregnancy r=0.461; p=0.013 systole medium positive; r=0.380; p=0.046 diastole weak positive; postpartum r=0,615; p=0,001 systole strong positive. Conclusion:All parameter of serum lipid profile in pregnancy and postpartum has significant differences and related with severe preeclampsia. Total cholesterol, LDL, triglyceride, and VLDL correlated with BP in severe preeclampsia. Background: The most leading cause of perinatal and maternal deaths and morbidity in developed and developing countries like India is pregnancy related hypertensive disorders especially pre-eclampsia. PIH is defined as; in previously normotensive and normoproteinuric women, hypertension of >_ 140/90 mmHg with or without proteinuria measured on two occasions 6 hours apart after gestational age (20 weeks).Women with pregnancy related hypertensive disorders experience varied and altered lipid changes.    Increased TG, low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C), cholesterol and decreased high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) concentrations leading to dyslipidemia was found in majority of the studies. Aim: The study aims to evaluate predictor like maternal sr. lipid profile in 2nd trimester in pregnancy related hypertensive disorders. Objective: To evaluate the occurrence of normal maternal and altered maternal serum lipid profile serum lipid profile in 2nd trimester of pregnancy in pregnancy related hypertensive disorders and compare them . Materials and Methods: The design of the study will be prospective as well as observational conducted from September 2020 to august 2022 with an estimated sample size of 1000. Patients included were nnormotensive and non-proteinuric in second trimester (13-20 weeks of gestation). Subjects will be evaluated on the basis of preformed and pretested proforma consisting of history, clinical symptoms and presentation and investigations. Blood samples for serum lipid profile will be collected in plain bulb with aseptic conditions and analyzed at the biochemistry laboratory by enzymatic method. Expected Results: We expect that from our results, altered maternal serum lipid profile in 2nd trimester will be positively associated with pregnancy related hypertensive disorders.
