SummaryThe paper forms a brief account of preliminary results of the routine scintigraphic search for symptomless bone metastases in breast cancer patients accepted to the Institute of Oncology, Warsaw, for radiotherapy, as performed regardless of the advancement of the disease and the type of treatment (alone or combined; radical or palliative). 103 patients were examined in 12 months’ time. Five selected cases are described and briefly discussed, and respective scans are shown. It is concluded that scintigraphy enables demonstration of symptomless metastases of cancer of the breast in the bones, which is of utmost importance for establishing realistic prognosis and for planning of proper treatment.
