Two new species of sequestrate (truffle-like fungi) Basidiomycetes of the putatively ectomycorrhizal genus Torrendia Bres. with contrasting basidiome morphology are described from remnant patches of eucalypt woodland in the wheatbelt of Western Australia: Torrendia grandis Bougher and Torrendia inculta Bougher.Like other species of Torrendia, they have basidiomes which develop and mature mostly underground but may break through to the soil surface at a late stage of maturity. The gleba of Torrendia species does not become powdery. A comparison of the main diagnostic features of all known taxa of Torrendiais provided. T. grandishas stocky basidiomes with an agaric-like pileus. T. inculta has a gleba which fragments during stipe elongation. The basidiome development of T. incultaisdescribed and illustrated, and some possible mechanisms of spore dispersal are discussed.

Two new species of the genus Broscosoma Rosenhauer, 1846 (Carabidae: Broscinae) were found in China: Broscosoma xuhaoi sp. nov. from Chongqing City and Broscosoma zhengyuandongi sp. nov. from Fujian Province. Habitus and diagnostic features of the new species are described and illustrated. An updated list of all known Chinese Broscosoma species is given.

The article describes two new species: Roepkiella jakli sp. nov. (type locality: Indonesia, Sangir Isl., Tahuna Distr., Bukit Bembalut Hill) and R. korshunovi sp. nov. (type locality: Thailand, Khon Kaen Prov., Phu Wiang Wat). The diagnostic features are given, the male genitalia of R. celebensis (Roepke, 1957) are described for the first time.

Cryptostemma miyamotoi sp. nov. and,sp. nov. from Japan are described. Habitus images and illustrations of diagnostic features, including genitalic structures, are provided. A key to the Eastern Palaearctic species is offered to facilitate identification. Habitats and behavior of the two new species are discussed based on the field and laboratory observations. The gender agreement of,(Miyamoto, 1964) is corrected.

Recent survey work for planthoppers at La Selva Biological Station in Costa Rica found two new species allied with Cenchrea Westwood. The cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) and 18S were sequenced for the new taxa and used these data to assess the genus-level standing of the new taxa. The new taxa do not cluster with Cenchrea dorsalis Westwood, the type species of Cenchrea. A new genus Tico gen. n. described for the reception of new species described as Tico emmettcarri sp. n. (the type species) and Tico pseudosororius sp. n. Cenchrea sororia Fennah is moved to Tico gen. n., to form the new combination Tico sororius (Fennah). Tico gen. n. is compared with allied genera, and review genus-level diagnostic features and the species composition of Cenchrea, which appears to be compositionally heterogenous, but additional data is needed to evaluate genus-level placement of most species.

Recent collections from the remote Kimberley in Western Australia, have added three species to the known fauna of gnammas, Limnadopsis multilineata Timms, 2009 and two new species described herein, Eulimnadia kimberleyensis sp. nov. and Ozestheria pellucida sp. nov.. A further gnamma icon, Paralimnadia laharum sp. nov. is added from the Grampians in western Victoria. The numerous records of clam shrimps from Australian gnammas are examined.

A resume of the endemic Australian nepid genus Goondnomdanepa Lansbury, 1974 is given. Two new species are described (prominens and brittoni) and a form of weiri Lansbury from Western Australia is described and compared with the form from the type locality, Mt Cahill, Northern Territory.
