With the aim of planning preventive measures of seismic protection, estimation of possible damages on building constructions plays an important role. In order to predict the category of damage , a data base was formed out of the data from reports submitted by the commission of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. The paper presents the research on the influence of the number and structure of input data and the comparative results of prediction of damage category on building constructions for two models of ANN (ANN-1 and ANN-2)

Seismic damage prediction of multistory brick buildings is a multi-factor nonlinear complex problems, this paper analyzed the deficiencies of the traditional methods for predicting the seismic damage, so a prediction model of multistory brick buildings based on RBF Neural Network model is established, RBF network structure elements and parameters are studied and obtained. With examples the research proved that the prediction results are similar to the actual seismic damage to multistory brick buildings by the RBP neural network model, the analytic method and process discussed in this paper can also be applied to seismic damage prediction of brick buildings of urban earthquake disaster prevention planning.

Single-story brick column workshops are widely used as the production or storage room of medium and small-sized enterprises in China. Based on the field investigation of single-story brick column workshops at the earthquake-affected area after Lushan 7.0 earthquake, the damage characteristics of workshops are summed up. Damage prediction analyses are carried out for two typical single-story brick column workshops, and failure mechanism researches are conducted by using ABAQUS finite element software for a workshop. Finally, according to the results of failure mechanism researches, some relevant suggestions of the seismic reinforcement are put forward.

Thousands of wooden houses were destroyed by the 2016 Kumamoto Earthquake. A seismic damage prediction function for wooden houses taking into consideration the consecutive strong earthquake motions, the amplification effect of ground surface layer, and the rupture propagation effect of seismic fault was proposed in this paper. Relationship between three ground characteristics above mentioned and the seismic damage for wooden house in the 2016 Kumamoto earthquake was analytically investigated by 3-D collapsing process analysis. The maximum drift angle was evaluated in this collapsing analysis of two-story wooden house.
