ABSTRACT Perioperative Hyperglycaemia can lead to sepsis, mediastinitis, prolonged mechanical ventilation, cardiac arrhythmias, increased ICU and hospital stay. The different centres follow different protocols to treat hyperglycaemia and still there is a controversy regarding the tight sugar control protocol.
