We present an overview of our recent investigations regarding the prospects of ongoing neutrino experiments as well as future experiments in determining few of the most important unknowns in the field of neutrino physics, specifically the neutrino mass ordering and leptonic CP-violation phase. The effect of matter oscillations on the neutrino oscillation probabilities has been exploited in resolving the degeneracy between the neutrino mass ordering and the CP violation phase in the leptonic sector. Further, we estimate the extent of extrinsic CP and CPT violation in the experiments with superbeams as well as neutrino factories.

We describe the tests of various symmetry principles at a ϕ factory. The most important new tests will be for the validity of CPT invariance at an extremely sensitive level. We indicate the current level of model independent limitation on CPT violation. Tests of new gravity interactions as well as CP violation in various K decays are described as well as some interest in new probes of quantum mechanics. A brief description of the Frascati, Novosibirsk and UCLA ϕ factory designs are also given.

I discuss the theoretical prediction for the phase of the CP-violating parameter ε, and the experimental bound on the CPT-violating contribution to that parameter. I conclude that, if one neglects theoretical prejudices and only takes into account the experimental data, the phase of ε may differ by as much as four degrees from the superweak phase. The present experimental bound on CPT violation cannot be much strengthened if one does not first obtain better bounds on the CP violation in the three-pion decay modes.
