A new trimethyltin(IV) coordination polymer, [Sn(CH3)3(C7H8O2P)], has been prepared by treatment of methylphenylphosphinic acid and trimethyltin chloride with sodium ethoxide in methanol. In the solid state, the title compound adopts an infinite one-dimensional polymeric chain structure with each SnIVatom adopting a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal geometry.

The dinuclear title compound, [In2(CH3)2(C7H7S)4] or [Me(2-MeC6H4S)In-μ-(2-MeC6H4S)2InMe(2-MeC6H4S)], was prepared from the 1:2 reaction of Me3In and 2-MeC6H4SH in toluene. Its crystal structure exhibits a four-membered In2S2ring coreviabridging (2-MeC6H4S) groups. The dimeric units are further associated into a one-dimensional polymeric structure extending parallel to theaaxisviaintermolecular In...S contacts. The In atoms are then in distorted trigonal–bipyramidal CS4bonding environments.

The title compound, [Sn(CH3)3(C6H3F2O2Se)]n, was prepared by treatment of 3,4-difluorobenzeneseleninic acid and trimethyltin chloride with sodium ethoxide in methanol. In the polymeric crystal structure, infinite chains, with the SnIVatom in a trigonal–bipyramidal C3O2coordination environment involving methyl ligands and the bridging 3,4-difluorobenzeneseleninate anion, are present. The chains extend parallel to [010] and are linked through slipped π–π interactions and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional network.

The title compound, [Sn(C6H5)3(C6H4NO3)], possesses an infinite chain structure. The SnO2C3 centre has distorted trigonal–bipyramidal geometry with the O atoms in the apical positions. A strong intermolecular N—H...O hydrogen bond results in the formation of double chains.

The one-dimensional coordination polymer (I) [Sr(ib)2(H2mda)] n (Hib = isobutyric acid, C4H8O2, and H2mda = N-methyldiethanolamine, C5H13NO2), namely, catena-poly[[(N-methyldiethanolamine-κ3 O,N,O′)strontium(II)]-di-μ2-isobutyrato-κ3 O,O′:O;κ3 O:O,O′], was prepared by the one-pot aerobic reaction of [Zr6O4(OH)4(ib)12(H2O)]·3Hib with Sr(NO3)2 and H2mda in the presence of MnCl2 and Et3N in acetonitrile. The use of MnCl2 is key to the isolation of I as high-quality colorless crystals in good yield. The molecular solid-state structure of I was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound I crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21/c and shows a one-dimensional polymeric chain structure. Each monomeric unit of this coordination polymer consists of a central SrII ion in the NO8 coordination environment of two deprotonated ib− ligands and one fully protonated H2mda ligand. The C and O atoms of the H2mda ligand were refined as disordered over two sets of sites with site occupancies of 0.619 (3) and 0.381 (3). Compound I shows thermal stability up to 130°C in air.

The title compound, [Sn2Cl2(CH3)4(C6H5N2O2)2], forms infinite one-dimensional zigzag chains that propagate in a helical fashion along the c axis via an Sn—O=C—O—Sn—O bridge which involves the carboxylate groups of two methylpyrazinecarboxylate ligands. These display both chelating and bridging coordination behaviour. The asymmetric unit contains two Sn atoms; one adopts a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal geometry, while the other is in a distorted pentagonal–bipyramidal configuration.

Abstract Diethylchlorotin dimethylphosphinate has been synthesized by treating (Et2ClSn)2O with HO2PMe2 in toluene. Single crystal X-ray analysis shows that O2PMe2 groups behave as bidentate bridge ligands between Et2ClSn units leading to a polymeric chain structure in which the tin atoms exhibit a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry with the oxygen atoms in the axial positions. The Sn-Cl bond lies on a C2 axis of symmetry in the (C2v) OCClSnCO unit. Et2ClSnO2PMe2 crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c (a = 877.9 (2), b = 1907.8 (4), c = 695.5 (1) pm, β= 106.72 (2)°, Z = 4 and R = 0.043). The characteristic IR bands of Et2ClSnO2PMe2 are assigned and the mass spectrum is reported and discussed.

In the title compound, [Sn(C6H5)3Cl(H2O)]·C14H12N4, Ph3SnCl(H2O) and 2-[1-(4-pyridylmethyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl]pyridine molecules cocrystallize in the same structure. Each Sn atom displays a distorted trigonal–bipyramidal geometry composed of three phenyl groups, one Cl− ion and one coordinated water molecule, which links, via hydrogen bonding, the Ph3SnCl(H2O) molecule to the cocrystallized 2-[1-(4-pyridylmethyl)-1H-imidazol-2-yl]pyridine molecule to generate an infinite chain structure.

The Zn center in the title compound, [Zn(C8H4O5)2(H2O)3] n , is in a slightly distorted trigonal–bipyramidal geometry. Each bidentate 5-hydroxyisophthalato ligand links two Zn centers, resulting in the formation of a chain structure.

The Pt atoms are located on an inversion centre, while the Cl atoms are disordered over two sites and form a zigzag ...Cl—PtIV—Cl...PtII... chain, with a PtIV—Cl bond length of 2.3140 (14) Å, an interatomic PtII...Cl distance of 3.5969 (15) Å and a PtIV—Cl...PtIIangle of 170.66 (6)°. The structural parameter indicating the mixed-valence state of the Pt atom, expressed by δ = (PtIV—Cl)/(PtII...Cl), is 0.643.

AbstractThe cyano-bridged heteronuclear coordination polymer of zinc(II)/nickel(II) has been prepared by N-(2-hydroxyethyl)-ethylendiamine (hydet-en), alternatively named 2-(2-aminoethylamino)-ethanol and characterised by IR and thermal analysis. In the bimetallic complex, the decomposition of hydet-en ligands is seen to be endothermic whereas that of the cyano ligands is found to be exothermic. The crystal structure of the complex has been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The crystal structure of the zinc(II)-nickel(II) complex consists of a one-dimensional polymeric chain –Zn(hydet-en)
