Adopting a generalization of the DiVincenzo criteria for the physical realization of quantum devices, a standalone component each, is proposed to prepare, manipulate, and measure the various content required to represent and produce movies on quantum computers. The quantum CD encodes, prepares, and initializes the broad content or key frames conveying the movie script. The quantum player uses the simple motion operations to manipulate the contents of the key frames in order to interpolate the missing viewing frames required to effectively depict the shots and scenes of the movie. The movie reader combines the projective measurement technique and the ancilla-driven quantum computation to retrieve the classical movie sequence comprising of both the key and viewing frames for each shot. At appropriate frame transition rates, this sequence creates the impression of continuity in order to depict the various movements and actions in the movie. Two well-thought-out examples demonstrate the feasibility of the proposed framework. Concatenated, these components together facilitate the proposed framework for quantum movie representation and production, thus, opening the door towards manipulating quantum circuits aimed at applications for information representation and processing.

The term Product realization is usually used to describe the physical realization of a product in the product development cycle. Therefore, the term may or may not include conceptualization and design phases. Considering that product realization means bringing a product to reality, it is important to study the concept of reality to understand the role of conceptualization, design, and manufacturing in product realization. In this paper, the concept of reality is expanded to include the perceptual and virtual realities as integral parts of the product realization process. This paper discusses the three phases of realization and their interactions. It also addresses the key roles of conceptualization, design and manufacturability in the realization process. To illustrate the concepts, presented in the paper, some examples are included.

Shape stability of chosen thin wood based panels after heating. Lignocellulose board materials are commonly used for furniture construction. Typically, these are particle boards, fibreboard or plywood with thicknesses from 10 to 20 mm, however, some furniture elements are made of thin boards with a thickness of 3-4 mm (back walls, bottoms of drawers and others). Modern furniture uses built-in components that are a source of heat, such as lamps, power supplies, ovens. Local high temperature may negatively affect the shape stability of thin lignocellulose plates. The aim of the research described in this article was to determine the impact of shortterm exposure to high temperature on the dimensional stability of selected thin plate furniture materials. Four different HDF boards with nominal thicknesses of 3 mm and four different plywood boards with nominal thicknesses of 2 to 4 mm were tested. The test samples were subjected to a short-term exposure to temperatures of up to 250°C. As a result of the tests, it was found that HDF boards are characterized by a much higher shape stability at elevated temperature than boards made of plywood.

Two hydrogen masers (HMs) are used in the Precise Timing Facility to provide the physical realization of Galileo System Time, insuring the extremely high short-term stability required for the navigation functions. In order to allow a smooth switch over between backup and primary HMs, the “backup HM steering algorithm” is developed. This acquires the phase difference measured between two HMs, computes a steering correction, and generates the steering correction to the backup HM via a PicoStepper with a 0.1-picosecond resolution. The algorithm design is based on outlier removal and a proportional-integral filtering controller. To verify the steering operability and the loop performance, the overall backup HM steering system is simulated using real HM-HM measurements, and with simulated anomalies (phase/frequency spikes, jumps, and drift).

Abstract The article presents issues related to the modeling of reliability of power supply in terms of their technical and functional condition. There are designated relations allowing to determine the probability of staying the power supply in the state: full suitability, incomplete suitability and unsuitability. There is also examined the impact of time restore of the state of full suitability for the value of the probability of staying the power supply in the state of incomplete suitability.

Microwave photonics is the arena of research in the 21st century due to ever-increasing ultra-large bandwidth and the meticulous availability of data with very low cost. In this context, conventional optoelectronic devices are replaced by novel photonic counterparts, both in transreceiver design as well as devices and systems. The major objective of this replacement is to reduce noise by means of lower scattering, where photons are only responsible for propagation of electromagnetic wave. With introduction of novel materials, low-loss communication system can now be designed at beyond THz range, mainly due to the physical realization of electromagnetic bandgap structure. This chapter is extended towards plasmonics with the intension of making sensors for beyond THz applications.

In the last couple of years, quantum computing has come out as emerging trends of computation not only due to its immense popularity but also for its commitment towards physical realization of quantum circuit in on-chip units. At the same time, the process of physical realization has faced several design constraints and one such problem is nearest neighbor (NN) enforcement which demands all the operating qubits to be placed adjacent in the implementable circuit. Though SWAP gate embedment can transform a design into NN architecture, it still creates overhead in the design. So, designing algorithms to restrict the use of SWAPs bears high importance. Considering this fact, in this work, we are proposing a heuristic-based improved qubit placement strategy for efficient implementation of NN circuit. Two different design policies are being developed here. In the first scheme, a global reordering technique based on clustering approach is shown. In the second scheme, a local reordering technique based on look-ahead policy is developed. This look-ahead strategy considers the impact over the gates in the circuit and thereby estimates the effect using a cost metric to decide the suitable option for SWAP implementation. Furthermore, the joint use of both the ordering schemes also has been explored here. To ascertain the correctness of our design algorithms, we have tested them over a wide range of benchmarks and the obtained results are compared with some state-of-the-art design approaches. From this comparison, we have witnessed a considerable reduction on SWAP cost in our design scheme against the reported works’ results.

AbstractThis study investigated the characteristics of liquid phase plasma-electrode catalysis system formed by micro-arc oxidation with titanium-aluminum (Ti-Al) alloy as the anode. Under different power supplies, the wastewater from printing and textile dyeing industries simulated with Rhodamine B (RhB) dye was decolored. We evaluated the impact of oxide film formed on the electrodes on the plasma effects. Our findings showed that repeated applications of opposite voltages could damage the insulating oxide film formed on the electrode surface, contributing to its breakdown and enhancing micro-arc oxidation. Intermittent power supply also modulated the coverage of oxide film by enhancing the cooling of electrolyte. Morphological study of oxide film revealed the presences of rutile and anatase titanium dioxide (TiO

Discussion of the physical realization of coordinates demonstrates that the quantum theory of gravity (still absent) should be non-local and, probably, non-commutative as well.
