The aim of the article is to identify the key factors influencing the entry of entrepreneurial subjects into the sphere of organic farming in the Czech Republic. Primary data for the research was obtained from a questionnaire survey carried out in 2016 through an internal communication system of the PRO BIO Association, comprising 481 operators in the field of organic farming in the Czech Republic. The research questions mainly concerned the reason for entering the sphere of organic farming, and what influenced this decision, the motivation of entrepreneurs to stay in organic farming and what could possibly be the reason for their departure from this sector of business. Another part of the research questions related to the knowledge about organic farming in the establishment of their business. a combination of factors that are important in deciding on entry into the industry and subsequent stay was found.

AbstractThe goal of the article is to describe factors influencing purchases of organic food by consumers in a selected area of the Czech Republic. We have researched and analysed reference books and studies focused on the topic to fulfil the goals of the article. Data acquired during a questionnaire survey with selected consumers was used as primary data. The impact of different factors on the purchase of organic food was researched based on an effect of demographic indicators. Hypotheses were stated to study relations among variables, and we examined the statistical importance and correlation of particular hypotheses. We used another statistical method – a decision tree – to seek connections between the variables. The results show that purchases of organic food are influenced by the price, the taste, the sense of health and the content. The connection between the researched factors and demographic indicators is usually low and statistically insignificant.

Abstract The factors that were crucial for the construction of administrative buildings in the regional capitals of the Czech Republic are subject to examination in this article. One primary question is whether the development of office construction reflects the qualitative importance of the cities, or whether there are some other regularities in the spatial distribution of construction. To identify the key factors, controlled interviews with experts professionally involved in the construction of administrative buildings were carried out, and these data were then extended as part of a large-scale questionnaire survey with other experts on the issue. The results have confirmed the dominant position of the capital city of Prague in terms of its qualitative importance, as the remaining regional capitals have less than one-tenth of the volume of modern office building areas. The greatest differences in the construction of administrative buildings have been noted in Brno and Ostrava, despite the fact that they exhibit similar characteristics when considered in the light of respondent-determined factors.

The article deals with issues concerning organisational culture and its maintenance in existing conditions in organisations in the Czech Republic. The importance of the topic lies in the fact that organisational culture is a reflection of human dispositions in work activities and strengthens one’s attitude to work and regulates relationships between employees and the management of the organisation. The aim of the article is to identify the importance of organisational culture and to determine the process of its development and its maintaining in organisations in the Czech Republic. Data has been obtained through a questionnaire survey carried out in organisations in the Czech Republic and evaluated using the tools of descriptive statistics. Primary data was evaluated using the tools of descriptive statistics and also the methods of comparison, induction, deduction and synthesis were applied. The results have been compared with the outcomes of a similar survey which took place in the Slovak Republic. At present, the theme of development and maintenance of a suitable organisational culture for the purpose of ensuring the required level of organisations’ performance and gaining a competitive advantage is highly relevant and significant in terms of its possible application in both scientific and practical activities.

This research study is based on the elaboration of nineteen case studies of family wineries from all over the world and one case study from the Czech Republic. All family wineries were visited by the author and semi-structured interviews were conducted with selected representatives of family wineries. The aim of the research was to look at the family winery through the lens of two systems: the family system and the business system, in order to find out the involvement of family members in a winery and the most important factors affecting a winery. Websites of family wineries were examined through contextual analysis. Based on the analysis of all case studies, four key groups of family wineries in the world were compiled. The research study identifies key family factors, i.e. familiness and the generation of the family which owns a winery. On the business side, the study identifies two key factors important for the sustainability of a family winery, namely corporate innovation and the degree of internationalization. The results of the analysis of world family wineries were compared with one winery selected from the Czech Republic.

Abstract The factors influencing job search and job selection are related to employer branding, employer’s position and employer attractiveness on labour market. These factors make employer branding. A conception of employer branding is hot issue not only in scientific research area. The employer branding can be divided into internal and external branding. The main goal of this article was to discover the factors influencing the job search and job selection based on the gender of the respondents and the type of faculty in the employer branding context. The students of Generation Y introduced a research sample of respondents. The primary data was acquired by structured questionnaire targeted at selected students of Generation Y in the Czech Republic. The total number of respondents was 655 students. Two research hypotheses and one research question have been defined. An analysis was realized using statistical software IBM Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) Statistics 23 and Microsoft Excel 2013. The verification of the research hypotheses was performed by the statistical method of the Two-sample t-Test for equal means. The research results discovered the findings that the mean perceptions of the factors influencing the job search and job selection: (1) were as the same for females and males, (2) were as the same for Generation Y students of the Faculty of Humanities (FHS) and Faculty of Management and Economics (FaME). Information about potential employers in the employer branding context was also investigated. The most frequent information about potential employers was information about job position and working conditions.

Cryptocurrencies are used not only as a payment instrument but also as a speculative and investment instrument. In the context of their use, the question arises of how and whether they should be taxed. The aim of the paper is to analyse and to assess the taxation of income from the cryptocurrency operations from the perspective of a non-business natural person in compliance with the Act on Income Taxes in the Czech Republic, concurrently to find out the attitude of young future economists familiar with cryptocurrencies to this tax issue and to identify socioeconomic factors influencing their attitude. For this purpose, an online questionnaire survey was conducted among economists aged 19-35 years in May 2019. A total of 269 responses were obtained and evaluated using descriptive statistics and ordinal regression. While, according to the effective law, income from all cryptocurrency operations is to be taxed, the results show that most of the respondents (44.98%) would tax the income depending on how cryptocurrencies are used.

The article deals with the entrepreneurs providing tourist services especially in tour operators (TO) and travel agencies (TA) in the Moravian-Silesian Region. The topic of trends in tourism is an up-to-date topic not only from the scientific but also in practical terms. On the basis of the survey, the objectives of the research are to identify selected tourism trends in the offer of TO/TA influencing their activities in the tourism market in the Moravian-Silesian Region. One of the main research questions was to explore whether professional behavior and corresponding ratio of price/quality belong to significant factors influencing purchasing a tour from TO/TA offer. The primary data was acquired from the selected tourism subjects, with the focus of the research and was analyzed using SPSS software. According to the survey are significant factors influencing purchasing a tour from TO/TA offer service from the perspective of the TO/TA next to the offer knowledge and ability to provide as much information as possible, belongs to professional behavior and corresponding ratio of price/quality and TO/TA are focused on searching new experiences, sightseeing tourism, senior tourism, active and adventure trips, discovering unique places, youth tourism, etc.

The paper deals with development and changes in consumption expenditures of population. It uses secondary data to analyze consumption expenditures of EU-25 and the Czech Republic and concetrates on changes in the expenditure groups over the period of past years. Other part of this paper is devoted to primary data analysis. Primary data were obtained in a questionnaire survey. Primary data analysis is based on statistical methods and it investigates changes in the structure of consumption expenditures of households in relation to changes in household income. By using dependency analysis the paper verifies dependency of surveyed groups of consumption expenditures and groups of households sorted by identification characteristics. Additionally, also based on the primary research, the paper tries to find out the way households allocate money surplus remaining after covering all the adequate expenses.

The present paper is aimed at introducing a pilot study on the use of social networks in agricultural enterprises. It is focused in particular on using social media as a development tool with a view to increase the market competitiveness of agricultural enterprises. The primary data have been retrieved from a questionnaire survey of ICT use in agricultural enterprises of the Czech Republic (the so-called Exploration 2011). The questionnaire survey was targeted at agricultural enterprises farming at least the area of 100 hectares (a basic selection criterion of the complex survey). The survey dealt not only with monitoring social networks use in agricultural enterprises as such but as well with the promotional potential of social networks in agricultural enterprises with non-agricultural activities. The survey was focused on the Central Bohemian Region as it shows a high concentration of agricultural enterprises. The present view of social networks in agricultural enterprises within the framework of the above-mentioned complex survey has not been, as far as the authors are aware, neither researched nor published. The thematic focus of the paper follows recent development in this field and current world research trends. The data obtained in the survey were statistically processed and some of the interdependences were monitored.
