ABSTRACT Corynebacterium amycolatum ICIS 9 was isolated from a vaginal smear of a healthy woman. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of C. amycolatum ICIS 9, which will be useful for further studies of specific genetic features of this strain and for understanding its probiotic properties.

ABSTRACT Data on the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus ruminis ICIS-540 are presented in this report. This Lactobacillus strain was isolated from the human colon as a prospective probiotic candidate. The genome size was 2,397,517 bp (G+C content, 42.7%). Annotation revealed 2,847 coding sequences, including 2,573 proteins.

ABSTRACT We report here the draft genome sequence of Lactobacillus fermentum CRL1446 (2,148,781 bp, 51.4% G+C content). This strain exhibits feruloyl esterase activity and important technological and probiotic properties. Because of its proven beneficial effects in vivo, it represents an interesting candidate for the development of functional foods or pharmabiotics for malnutrition.

ABSTRACT We report the draft genome sequence of a putative probiotic strain, Lactobacillus fermentum ASBT-2, isolated from domestic sewage in Kerala, India. The strain showed probiotic properties (tolerance to low pH and bile salts, binding to host matrix) and reduced the coliform count by 90% in a biofilter used to treat wastewater.

Weissella cibaria P71 is a lactic acid bacterium that was isolated from common octopus ( Octopus vulgaris ) and previously showed interesting probiotic properties for turbot ( Scophthalmus maximus L.) farming. The draft genome sequence of this strain provides further data to support its potential as a probiotic for aquaculture.

Here, we report the draft genome sequence of Pseudorhodobacter sp. strain E13, a Gram-negative, aerobic, nonflagellated, and rod-shaped bacterium which was isolated from the Yellow Sea in South Korea. The assembled genome sequence is 3,878,578 bp long with 3,646 protein-coding sequences in 159 contigs.

ABSTRACT Vibrio harveyi is a Gram-negative bacterium associated with vibriosis in penaeid shrimp. Here, we report the draft genome sequence of a V. harveyi strain isolated from Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) during a vibriosis outbreak. The availability of this genome will aid future studies of vibriosis in shrimp aquaculture.
