We report here the draft genome sequence of Actinoplanes teichomyceticus CPCC 203265, a producer of glycopeptide antibiotic teicoplanin, which has significant inhibitory activity against multidrug-resistant Gram-positive pathogens. The draft genome size is 8 Mb, with a G+C content of 72.8%, and its sequence will facilitate the genome exploration of novel secondary metabolites.

Nostoc sp. strain KVJ20 was isolated from the symbiotic organs of the liverwort Blasia pusilla. This cyanobacterium has been shown to have broad symbiotic competence, and bacterial extracts have inhibitory effects on cancer cell lines and microbes. An array of genes for the production of secondary metabolites is present.

ABSTRACTBurkholderia pyrrociniaCH-67 was isolated from forest soil as a biocontrol agent to be utilized in agriculture. Here, we report the 8.05-Mb draft genome sequence of this bacterium. Its genome contains genes involved in biosynthesis of secondary metabolites and plant growth promotion, which may contribute to probiotic effects on plants.

The Gram-negative bacterium Pseudomonas aeruginosa is often multidrug resistant, associated with global epidemic outbreaks, and responsible for significant morbidity and mortality in hospitalized patients. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of BWH047, a multidrug-resistant P. aeruginosa clinical isolate belonging to the epidemic sequence type 235 and demonstrating high levels of colistin resistance.

ABSTRACTAfter the introduction of the pneumococcal conjugate vaccine in Malaysia in recent years, the emergence of nonvaccine serotypes is of concern, particularly the antibiotic-resistant strains, with an increase specifically in serotype 15A. Here, we report the draft genome sequence ofStreptococcus pneumoniaestrain SS40_16, isolated from the blood sample of a 19-month-old female in 2016. SS40_16 is a multidrug-resistant strain with resistance to penicillin (MIC, ≥2 µg/ml), tetracycline, and trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazole. The strain belongs to serotype 15A and sequence type 1591 (ST1591).

ABSTRACT Mycobacterium abscessus, an intrinsically multidrug-resistant pathogen, causes chronic incurable lung disease. New drugs for this emerging pathogen represent an urgent unmet medical need. Here, we report a draft genome sequence of M. abscessus Bamboo, a clinical isolate used as a screening strain for drug discovery.
