Abstract:The development of an innovative clinical decision-support project such as the University of Minnesota’s Clinical Workstation initiative mandates the use of modern client-server network architectures. Preexisting conventional laboratory information systems (LIS) cannot be quickly replaced with client-server equivalents because of the cost and relative unavailability of such systems. Thus, embedding strategies that effectively integrate legacy information systems are needed. Our strategy led to the adoption of a multi-layered connection architecture that provides a data feed from our existing LIS to a new network-based relational database management system. By careful design, we maximize the use of open standards in our layered connection structure to provide data, requisition, or event messaging in several formats. Each layer is optimized to provide needed services to existing hospital clients and is well positioned to support future hospital network clients.

The rapid development of computer technology and information greatly helps work in storing, accessing to data processing becomes faster and easier, this has triggered various fields in utilizing this with the use of computer-based information systems, especially for intelligence units in western security police. The system that will be created uses access to the virtual host-based client server. Modeling used UML modeling, this system is built using PHP programming language and MYSQL database. The results of the study show that the information system designed can process criminal data and is able to be implemented at the research site..

This article offers the reader a description of the methodology for the design and implementation of asynchronous reporting subsystems based on templates for client-server Information Systems built using web technologies. The article provides step-by-step recommendations: from organizing the basic structure of report templates to integrating a ready-made report generator into the Information System.

Senior management of a large company learns that its largest and most important information systems project will be eight months late. The developers used the latest technology (web-based, distributed, client-server, networked) and architecture (SOA). Some new parts were up and running but many old, legacy pieces were carrying a heavy part of the daily demands and risks of outages were increasing. There were staffing problems and challenges with conversions, and it appeared that some organizational units were resisting adoption of the new systems.

SummaryThis paper investigates the scalable dissemination of data between vehicles. The application context of this work is traffic information systems where cars are not only consumers but also producers of information. The key challenge in those systems is to ensure scalability in an environment where data is provided and requested by all participating vehicles in a large area. We discuss two fundamentally different approaches to this problem: using direct communication between cars and compressing the data via aggregation versus relying on infrastructure. The latter approach can further be divided into client-server and peer-to-peer systems. We outline all three approaches and highlight their advantages and disadvantages.

This study aims to solve the problem of processing book data at the Sidikalang District Court Library, which currently does not have an information system to process library data such as book data, library member data, borrowing and returning books. In the absence of information regarding available books, the library leader, namely customer representative recreation, the Sidikalang District Court does not know exactly the type and number of books available so that it can hamper the development of the library. This problem is resolved by designing a client-server application for library information systems in libraries. Sidikalang District Court. With this library information system it is hoped that it can simplify the work of librarians, the system for recording book data and member data becomes more structured, fast and accurate, accelerates the process of searching for member data, book data, borrowing, and returning transaction data, and services to library members become more good.

Abstract - Information Systems are needed in various fields of the company, including the field of Food and Baverages, where information systems play a vital role in the smooth operation of the Company. This intranet web is made on a client-server basis to make it easier to process data sharing between cashiers and baristas. In making this system using the waterfall method where there are 5 stages, namely software requirements analysis, namely the initial stage to identify all needs in the system design process, the design used is the back-end interface design and front-end, the programming language used is HTML; PHP; CSS; Javascript; and Jquery, testing using blackbox testing, and the support stage can repeat the development process starting from specification analysis to new software changes. The drink ordering information system at Kampung Dahar Purwokerto Beverage Store is expected to facilitate the performance of cashiers and baristas, providing fast and accurate service to customers. Redundant data management is a must in client server information systems with mobile clients. Based on the level of autonomy of mobile devices/ users techniques for handling such data can be divided into caching, hoarding, and replication. These three terms are often used incorrectly in the literature. To our knowledge the exact definition of the terms has never been published in an international book or journal. We fill this gap with this article. We furthermore explain the terms cache replacement, cache invalidation, cache maintenance, automated hoarding, and synchronization of replicated data.
