Ovarian torsion after hysterectomy is a rare event. The diagnosis of ovarian torsion is challenging because symptoms are nonspecific. We present a case of ovarian torsion 2 years after laparoscopic hysterectomy (LH). Furthermore, we performed a literature review about ovarian torsion after hysterectomy. This case shows that, in cases of acute onset pelvic pain in patients with history of hysterectomy, the adnexal torsion must be kept in mind in the differential diagnosis, especially in those women who had undergone LH.

Abstract Hemangioma is the most common tumor of the vascular origin, benign, frequently observed in children, and with preference for head and neck, but rarely having a uvular origin. In this organ, it presents potential risk of local trauma, hemorrhage and it may produce great discomfort for the patient. In this article we present the cases of two patients (34 year-old and 44-year old) with uvular hemangiomas; patient 1 was admitted for dysphagia, salivation and choking and patient 2 was admitted for the swelling of the uvula, dysphagia, salivation and difficulty in speaking. They both presented a history of this symptoms, with acute episodes of dysphagia. They did not report bleeding, pain or fever. Hemangiomas were histopathologically confirmed, thus raising the awareness that hemangiomas are included in the differential diagnosis when a patient presents an elongated, swollen uvula or uvular masses.

Light emitting diode (LED) bulb is an unusual cause of foreign body aspiration. We present a case of a 6-year-old boy who reported with a four-day history of difficulty in breathing and cough following a LED bulb aspiration retrieved via rigid bronchoscopy. This present case suggests that LED bulb should be considered in the differential diagnosis of foreign body aspirations in our environment.

Abstract Background Ovarian and adnexal torsions are gynecologic emergencies [Li Q, Li X, Zhang P. Ovarian torsion caused by hyperreactio luteinalis in the third trimester of pregnancy: a case report. Int J Clin Exp Med. 2015;8:19612–5; Ssi-Yan-Kai G, Rivain AL, Trichot C, Morcelet MC, Prevot S, Deffieux X. What every radiologist should know about adnexal torsion. Emerg Radiol. 2018;25:51–9; Huchon C, Fauconnier A. Adnexal torsion: a literature review. Eur J Obstet Gynecol Reprod Biol. 2010;150:8–12]. Case presentation Though rare in pregnancy, this case report describes a 32-year-old G0 at 39 + 3/7 weeks with a history of kidney stones and a simple ovarian cyst that presented to the labor floor with left lower quadrant pain. She underwent an induction of labor for persistent pain and had a subsequent primary section for a category II tracing. Conclusion During the section, a torsion x3 of the left infundibular ligament was noted. The pathology indicated an acute infarct – only one other case of a full-term torsion was found in the literature (Li Q, Li X, Zhang P. Ovarian torsion caused by hyperreactio luteinalis in the third trimester of pregnancy: a case report. Int J Clin Exp Med. 2015;8:19612–5).

AbstractBackgroundCerebral fat embolism (CFE) syndrome at high altitude was rare complicated with paroxysmal sympathetic hyperactivity (PSH) syndrome and septic shock. It is a challenge to differential diagnosis and treatment at high altitude.Case presentationThis case presents a CFE with PSH and septic shock of a 23-year-old man occurred at high altitude of 3800 m above sea level, transferred by airplane successfully and cured in the department of neurosurgery, Xi’an Tangdu Hospital.ConclusionsIt is key that CFE with PSH can be rapid diagnosed and treatment bundles of septic shock should be initiated as soon as possible. Early neurological rehabilitation played an important role for good outcome.

Abstract Nodular hidradenoma is an uncommon cutaneous adnexal tumor arising from sweat glands. In the skin, it usually presents as a solitary dermal nodule; excision is curative in most cases. In rare instances, it may present as a breast mass and can mimic breast carcinoma clinically and radiologically, causing diagnostic dilemmas for the treating physician and pathologist. Herein, we discuss a case of nodular hidradenoma in a 20-year-old Hispanic woman as a rapidly growing mass in the breast that mimicked breast carcinoma. We discuss the rare presentation of this uncommon tumor and the differential diagnosis of this entity, as well as the results of our literature review on the topic.

Purpose: Silicone oil (SO) is often used as an intraocular tamponade in repairs of retinal detachments. It may be associated with complications such as cataract, glaucoma, keratopathy, subretinal migration of oil, fibrous epiretinal and sub retinal proliferations, and oil emulsification. The purpose of this report is to describe a rare phenomenon of intraocular silicone oil migration into the cerebral ventricles, which may later be mistaken for intraventricular hemorrhages on neuroimaging. Methods: Case report with literature review. Results: A patient with a history of retinal detachment repair with intraocular SO presented with headaches. Neuroimaging revealed SO migration to the cerebral ventricles. The patient was treated conservatively with symptom management and headaches resolved. Conclusions: We present a case of intraocular SO migration to the cerebral ventricles and review the current literature. We also propose two mechanisms for this phenomenon.

Background: PRMC is a very rare benign tumor of the abdominal cavity that usually occurs in women, and PRMC demonstrate no specific findings on CT. There are many reports on the differential diagnosis and discussion of PRMC imaging, but there are few reports on the treatment of dedifferentiated PRMC using laparoscopic resection and postoperative follow-up.
