Abstract This article introduces theology of expectation designed by Czech theologian Vladimír Boublík and considers its capacity to potentially enhance the theological background of youth ministry. It starts with a presentation of expectation as a characteristic feature of humanity which is specifically intensive in young age and proceeds with a particular, Christian understanding of expectation in relation to eschatology. Drawing upon Boublík’s treatment of expectation a few inspirations and impulses for the field of youth ministry research are suggested. In its conclusion, the article argues that expecting the future in general and awaiting Christ in particular forms a standpoint that comprises a potential for solid theological understanding to young people and helps to perceive youth ministry as an environment where good theology might be transformed into good projects.

Based on developmental psychology, youth ministry has often regarded the adolescent self in terms of a search for identity. The selfie demonstrates this psychosocial attempt to discover one’s self and receive affirmation for it. While developmental theory is helpful and relevant for youth ministry, theology offers a more desirable foundation on which to build youth ministry practices. Thomas Merton’s theological understanding of the self addresses this dilemma, whereby the self finds the adolescent. This perspective can help us reframe youth ministry’s assumptions based on developmental psychology, which regard the adolescent’s task as self-discovery. As James Loder describes, the inner self emerges through God’s transformation. This is an issue of reordering of theology and psychology. For adolescents to position themselves to receive this inner transformation, Christian ministry with young people can effectively facilitate a posture of prayer whereby God can affect the transformation of the deepest sense of the self.

Is Youth Ministry involved in the creation of new theology? This article assesses the potential of engaging in a 'living theology' by listening to and liaising with the spiritual insights of young people. The conditions for such a theology are created by three movements towards young people. Initially, by noticing and respecting their voices, secondly through crafting space within our theorising for young people's insight to shape theological understanding and thirdly by embracing the lives of young people as a site for connection with God and the construction of theology.

Drug abuse is a very worrying problem, especially for young people who will become the heirs and successors of the nation's struggle in the future. Narcotics abuse by children, especially in the Buleleng Regency area is high and is dominated by children aged 14-18 years who are still in school or still receiving education. The high number of narcotics abuse cases in Buleleng Regency at a young age has resulted in greater public concern due to its potentially damaging impact on all dimensions of life. The purpose of this study is to provide an effort to overcome narcotics abuse by children in Buleleng Regency. This research is an empirical legal research using a statutory approach. Based on the results of the study, it was found that the factors that influence narcotics abuse by children in Buleleng Regency are caused by internal and external factors and efforts to overcome them are carried out by penal efforts (legal channels) and non-penal efforts (non-legal channels.

Who are youth in theological perspective? The central question this article is trying to ask is: How does youth ministry research on youth connect with systematic or more specifically fundamental theology? The first section, following the introduction, aims to summarise traditional perspectives on young people predominantly as an age-related group. The second section attempts to describe the specific theological vision on youth and its connection to youth theology. The final section seeks a new perspective on youth by introducing fundamental theology and drawing on its particular concept of “expectation” proposed by Czech theologian Vladimír Boublík. It is argued that a theological understanding of youth is a necessary prerequisite for any genuine theological engagement with young people and vice versa. Here, theological engagement with young people may bring fresh insights into the dry bodies of traditional theological disciplines, including fundamental theology.

This article provides a review of the Australian labour market in 2020. It outlines the monetary and fiscal responses to COVID-19 (including JobKeeper, JobSeeker and JobMaker policies), describes trends in employment, unemployment and underemployment and summarises the Fair Work Commission’s 2020 minimum wage decision. Data show that in the year to September 2020, total monthly hours worked fell by 5.9% for males and 3.8% for females. Job loss was proportionately larger amongst young people (aged 20–29) and older people. It was also disproportionately higher in female-dominated sectors such as Accommodation and Food Services. Unlike the earlier recession (1991), when more than 90% of jobs lost were previously held by males, a significant share (around 40%) of the job loss in the 2020 recession (year to August 2020) were jobs previously held by females. Notwithstanding a pick-up in employment towards year’s end, the future remains uncertain.

The future of the energy sector depends on the younger generation. The paper presents the results of the study, the aim of which was to determine to what extent younger generation is pro-ecological and pro-social, and whether they will include pro-ecological and pro-social activities in the management of energy companies. It is especially important to implement sustainable management in the energy sector. The study found that only 33.9% of young people are highly pro-ecological and 28.6% highly pro-social. As many as 83.0% of the younger generation show low and medium interest in environmental protection. Declarations of young people concerning high degree of inclusion of pro-ecological and pro-social activities in management are at the level of 49.9% and 58.1%. However, in many cases, these intentions do not coincide with the high pro-ecological and pro-social attitude of young people. This means that their future activity for sustainable management may be low. According to the survey, the younger generation to a large extent is not prepared to continue efforts for sustainable development in the future in the energy companies.

As a result of the study, it was found that the removal of dental plaque using low-frequency ultrasound and ozonized contact medium in chronic generalized catarrhal gingivitis of young people can significantly improve the state of microbiocenosis of the gingival sulcus. The preservation of the main resident species is noted, occasional transient species disappear and the frequency of isolation of aggressive representatives of beta-hemolytic streptococci and periodontopathogenic species decreases. When using ozonated water for the removal of dental deposits, the efficiency of eradication of the microbiota of the gingival sulcus, especially of representatives of aggressive species, is higher than when removing dental deposits without the use of ozonated water.
