Abstract Background Protection of privacy data published in the health care field is an important research field. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) in the USA is the current legislation for privacy protection. However, the Institute of Medicine Committee on Health Research and the Privacy of Health Information recently concluded that HIPAA cannot adequately safeguard the privacy, while at the same time researchers cannot use the medical data for effective researches. Therefore, more effective privacy protection methods are urgently needed to ensure the security of released medical data. Methods Privacy protection methods based on clustering are the methods and algorithms to ensure that the published data remains useful and protected. In this paper, we first analyzed the importance of the key attributes of medical data in the social network. According to the attribute function and the main objective of privacy protection, the attribute information was divided into three categories. We then proposed an algorithm based on greedy clustering to group the data points according to the attributes and the connective information of the nodes in the published social network. Finally, we analyzed the loss of information during the procedure of clustering, and evaluated the proposed approach with respect to classification accuracy and information loss rates on a medical dataset. Results The associated social network of a medical dataset was analyzed for privacy preservation. We evaluated the values of generalization loss and structure loss for different values of k and a, i.e. $$k$$ k  = {3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 21, 24, 27, 30}, a = {0, 0.2, 0.4, 0.6, 0.8, 1}. The experimental results in our proposed approach showed that the generalization loss approached optimal when a = 1 and k = 21, and structure loss approached optimal when a = 0.4 and k = 3. Conclusion We showed the importance of the attributes and the structure of the released health data in privacy preservation. Our method achieved better results of privacy preservation in social network by optimizing generalization loss and structure loss. The proposed method to evaluate loss obtained a balance between the data availability and the risk of privacy leakage.

The continuous expansion of the number and scale of social networking sites has led to an explosive growth of social network data. Mining and analyzing social network data can bring huge economic value and social benefits, but it will result in privacy leakage and other issues. The research focus of social network data publishing is to publish available data while ensuring privacy. Aiming at the problem of low data availability of social network node triangle counting publishing under differential privacy, this paper proposes a privacy protection method of edge triangle counting. First, an edge-removal projection algorithm TSER based on edge triangle count sorting is proposed to obtain the upper bound of sensitivity. Then, two edge triangle count histogram publishing methods satisfying edge difference privacy are given based on the TSER algorithm. Finally, experimental results show that compared with the existing algorithms, the TSER algorithm can retain more triangles in the original graph, reduce the error between the published data and the original data, and improve the published data availability.

Any data that user creates or owns is known as the user's data (For example: Name, USN, Phone number, address, email Id). As the number of users in social networks are increasing day by day the data generated by the user's is also increasing. Network providers will publish the data to others for analysis with hope that mining will provide additional functionality to their users or produce useful results that they can share with others. The analysis of social networks is used in modern sociology, geography, economics and information science as well as in various fields. Publicizing the original data of social networks for analysis raises issues of confidentiality, the adversary can search for documented threats such as identity theft, digital harassment and personalized spam. The published data may contain some sensitive information of individuals which must not be disclosed for this reason social network data must be anonymized before it is published. To do the data in nominate the anonymization technique should be applied, to preserve the privacy of data in the social network in a manner that preserves the privacy of the user whose records are being published while maintaining the published dataset rich enough to allow for the exploration of data. In order to address the issue of privacy protection, we first describe the concept of k-anonymity and illustrate different approaches for its enforcement. We then discuss how the privacy requirements characterized by k-anonymity can be violated in data mining and introduce possible approaches to ensure the satisfaction of k-anonymity in data mining also several attacks on dataset are discussed.

Abstract Background Analyzing the previous research literature in the field of clinical teaching has potential to show the trend and future direction of this field. This study aimed to visualize the co-authorship networks and scientific map of research outputs of clinical teaching and medical education by Social Network Analysis (SNA). Methods We Identified 1229 publications on clinical teaching through a systematic search strategy in the Scopus (Elsevier), Web of Science (Clarivate Analytics) and Medline (NCBI/NLM) through PubMed from the year 1980 to 2018.The Ravar PreMap, Netdraw, UCINet and VOSviewer software were used for data visualization and analysis. Results Based on the findings of study the network of clinical teaching was weak in term of cohesion and the density in the co-authorship networks of authors (clustering coefficient (CC): 0.749, density: 0.0238) and collaboration of countries (CC: 0.655, density: 0.176). In regard to centrality measures; the most influential authors in the co-authorship network was Rosenbaum ME, from the USA (0.048). More, the USA, the UK, Canada, Australia and the Netherlands have central role in collaboration countries network and has the vertex co-authorship with other that participated in publishing articles in clinical teaching. Analysis of background and affiliation of authors showed that co-authorship between clinical researchers in medicine filed is weak. Nineteen subject clusters were identified in the clinical teaching research network, seven of which were related to the expected competencies of clinical teaching and three related to clinical teaching skills. Conclusions In order to improve the cohesion of the authorship network of clinical teaching, it is essential to improve research collaboration and co-authorship between new researchers and those who have better closeness or geodisk path with others, especially those with the clinical background. To reach to a dense and powerful topology in the knowledge network of this field encouraging policies to be made for international and national collaboration between clinicians and clinical teaching specialists. In addition, humanitarian and clinical reasoning need to be considered in clinical teaching as of new direction in the field from thematic aspects.
