Objective: to develop and validate with a panel of experts a scenario of maternal-child clinical simulation, related to humanized childbirth and birth. Method: methodological study based on the Jeffries framework and standardized guides of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation in Learning, which used analysis with descriptive statistics for general aspects of adherence to the aforementioned guide and inferential statistics for validating the checklist of actions through the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient (ICC). Results: the scenario contains learning objectives, necessary resources, prebriefing and debriefing of guidelines, description of the simulated situation, participants and roles, and checklist of expected actions. The validation obtained an agreement level above 80% in all aspects evaluated by 31 experts, highlighting realism of the environment and setting, vital sign parameters, alignment with scientific literature and encouragement of critical thinking and problem solving. In addition, the checklist of actions was validated with 0.899 agreement among experts, statistically analyzed by the ICC and Cronbach’s alpha 0.908 (95% confidence interval). Conclusion: the simulated scenario on humanized childbirth and birth can strengthen the articulation between women’s and children’s health disciplines, and was validated by experts.

ABSTRACT Objective: to develop and validate a scenario for clinical simulation in nursing education on the management of severe preeclampsia in the puerperium. Method: methodological study in five stages (overview, scenario, scenario design progression, debriefing and assessment), developed from March to December 2019, involving 10 volunteers (one professor, five actors and four judges). Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and Content Validation Index. Results: the scenario was built from the definition of learning objectives that meet the needs of nursing education. From the completion of a Likert scale, by the judges in on-site validation, a Content Validity Index of 1.0 was reached, which indicates 100% agreement in the assessed items. Conclusion: the scenario was validated. It is expected that teaching by simulation will be expanded and that new studies of scenario validation will contribute to the preparation of future nurses, based on the most recent scientific evidence.

ABSTRACT We sought to describe the stages of scenario development with emphasis on the most relevant aspects according to the literature and guidelines of The International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning and Best Evidence Medical Education, which are discussed and exemplified on the basis of our professional experience. The following stages were described and commented on for scenario design: planning, objectives, simulation structure and format, case description and perception of realism, pre-debriefing, debriefing, evaluation, materials and resources, and pilot test. A scenario design based on good practices involves important elements, and each stage is closely interrelated and interdependent in its creation process.

ABSTRACT Objective: to construct and validate a high fidelity clinical simulation scenario on nursing care to colostomy patients. Method: descriptive study of construction and validation of the appearance and content of a high fidelity clinical simulation scenario referring to nursing care for colostomy patients. To guide the elaboration of the scenario, a study was carried out in the literature on nursing care for the colostomy patient in the hospital environment. The scenario was constructed according to the items proposed by Fabri, based on the Bloom’s Taxonomy. For the selection of the nine experts, the criteria proposed by Fehring were used. The scenario, after being structured, was tested by a group of students from the 3rd and 4th years of graduation in nursing in a clinical simulation laboratory of a public university. It was considered 80% level of agreement. Results: in the validation of the scenario, all the experts agreed with the proposed items, suggesting the inclusion of some references, book chapters, skills training, preparation of reading material and checklist follow-up of participants. This scenario test allowed the identification of relevant contributions for adjustments of the simulated activity and allowed to test the debriefing with the support of the checklist. It was also evidenced the need to include information in the patient medical record and to increase the time of development of the scenario to solve the proposed objectives. Conclusion: the results show that for practical simulated well defined and successful are required to careful preparation, validation and prior testing of the planned activities.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to evaluate the reliability of the maximum phonation time (MPT) and Vital Capacity intra and inter-examiner, by means of the single-breath counting test (CT) and the sustained /a/ phoneme, and the slow vital capacity (SVC). Methods: a reliability study carried out in three groups of healthy individuals, each group with 30 volunteers, allocated according to age. SVC was measured using a spirometer, while the MPT was assessed by the phoneme /a/ and CT. The data were analyzed using SPSS version 20.0. Initially, descriptive statistics were used and for data reliability, the intraclass correlation coefficient (ICC). Results: the Intraclass Correlation Coefficients (ICC) were considered excellent, with significant results above 0.92 for SVC and greater than 0.79 for CT and phoneme /a/. Regarding the inter-examiner evaluation, the ICCs were also significant for both SVC with values greater than 0.96, and for CT and the phoneme /a/ with values greater than 0.85. The error inherent in the technique was assessed using the standard error of the measurement for intra and inter-examiner analyses with values ranging from 1.79 to 3.29 for phoneme /a/, 3.20 to 6.58 for CT and 65, 05 to 206.73 for SVCml. Conclusion: phonation techniques with the phoneme /a/ and CT, as well as SVC, have an excellent reliability, due to intra and inter-examiner agreement measures.
