The current study aimed at analyzing the degree of involvement of the educational content and activities in Action Pack 5, which is used to teach the English language for Jordanian students in grade five. To gather the data, the researcher used Romey’s formula. To achieve the study purposes, 25% of Action Pack textbook pages were chosen randomly to find out the level of involvement of the educational content. Also, all the activities, totaling (122) activities were chosen from the analyzed textbook to find out the level of involvement in these activities. Results showed that the degree of involvement of the educational content of Action Pack 5 was (0.19), which means that the analyzed textbook was autocratic and had few challenges that evoke students' thoughts. It also shows that the degree of involvement of the analyzed activities was (0.87), which means that the analyzed textbook makes students in grade five more involved and active during their learning English.

Vocabulary is an important aspect in the process of learning English because it is needed by the students when they are learning English language skills. Therefore, teaching English in primary schools are held to provide students a larger amount of vocabulary than what they probably have before. This research is designed to improve the students’ vocabulary as well as their Tahajjud (night prayer) habit using Chain SMS sent during Tahajjud time. The method was selected because it was believed to be able overcome the problem of limited time at school and allow students to memorize vocabulary gradually since they will learn after they have enough rest and after they did they tahajjud prayer. This is a a Classroom Action Research (CAR) designed in two cycles. The subjects of this research were 29 students of the fifth grade of MI Al Mubarok Wangkal in the 2014/2015 academic year. The data of this research study were obtained through vocabulary test documentation. The findings of this research indicated that the Chain SMS in Tahajjud time was successful in improving both the students’ ability in vocabulary and the students’ Tahajjud habit. The improvement can be seen from the increase of students’ scores and the students’ individual score percentage from preliminary study to Cycle 2 both for vocabulary achievement and Tahajjud prayer habit.

Students' difficulty in understanding English language as a subject usually leads to poor learning outcomes. The problem is, however, observed to be getting worse due to the unavailability of suitable learning media for educators and students. This research was, therefore, conducted to develop an English for Beginner pocketbook media to improve student learning outcomes. Meanwhile, pocketbook media is an alternative packaging of information through the use of user efficiency elements. This research was developed based on the Borg & Gall model with the data collected using questionnaires, tests, and documentation and analyzed through Independent Sample T-test. The results showed the sig. (2-tailed) < sig. level (0,000 < 0.05), therefore, Ha was accepted while H0 was rejected. It was discovered that average students learning outcomes increased to 83,4 and learning completeness by 83.33% after receiving the treatment in the form of the English for Beginner pocketbook media. This shows this material is feasible to be implemented as a learning medium due to its effectiveness in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade students of MI Masaran 1 Trenggalek.

Providing Iraqi students with proficiency in English is the ultimate goal of the educational system which is a way of getting knowledge in the fields of arts, sciences, transferring knowledge and sciences to other communities. Therefore, conducting such a type of study is very important because the contents of English textbooks have a huge influence on learning of the students. Once the content of English textbooks contain errors as the correct one, this will effect on his/her learning. The present study is an attempt to evaluate the new course entitled “English for Iraq” for fifth grade students for secondary schools, by Olivia Johnston and Mark Farell. It aims to answer eleven questions relating to the following domains: strength, objectives, appearance, design and illustration, language components, social and cultural context, accompanying materials, teaching methods, language skills, teachability, and practice and testing. The sample which is randomly chosen consists of (64) English language teachers, Baghdad Al-Rusafa 2nd. A survey checklist employed as an instrument of the present study. The major results showed that English teachers of Baghdad Al-Rusafa 2nd were satisfied with only seven domains of the checklist out of eleven. They are: the general appearance, design and illustration, accompanying materials, social and cultural context, teaching methods, practice and testing, and language components.

This study investigates elementary school students’ anxiety over learning English, the influential factors of their anxiety, and the teacher’s strategies to reduce their anxiety. Anchored in a mixed research method, 75 fifth grade students at SDIT Robbi Rodhiyah in Curup, Bengkulu, Indonesia were involved as the sample for quantitative investigations into their learning anxiety levels and the influential factors of their anxiety. In addition, one English teacher was recruited as the qualitative subject to be interviewed on the teacher’s strategies to reduce students’ anxiety. The quantitative investigations deployed the FLCAS questionnaire developed by Horwitz, and the qualitative investigation conducted interviews with the English teacher. Descriptive statistics were employed to analyze questionnaire data, and an interactive model was undertaken to analyze interview data. The results revealed that the students were at a high level of English learning anxiety. Their anxiety stemmed from some factors such as anxiety over tests, fear of negative evaluation, and communication apprehension. In efforts to help students cope with and reduce their English learning anxiety, the teacher applied some strategies such as relaxation, music and laughter, self-encouragement, and additional considerations resting upon students’ to help them reduce their anxiety.

Vocabulary, as the fundament of any language, is one of the most crucial aspects of language learning. And it also draws great attention from Chinese learners of English as a foreign language (EFL). This study conducted an experiment to examine the effectiveness of the picture-word inductive model (PWIM) and readers’ theater on Chinese primary EFL learners’ vocabulary learning achievement. The samples were 34 fifth-grade students from a primary school of China. The students received a vocabulary learning treatment with the lesson plans constructed based on the picture-word inductive model and readers’ theater using Chinese Cheng-yu, and an English vocabulary learning achievement test was conducted before and after the treatment. Results of the test showed that the students’ mean scores in the posttest were significantly improved than in the pre-test, and results of the questionnaire showed that the participants were highly satisfied with learning English via picture-word inductive model and readers’ theater. The results indicated that learning English via picture-word inductive model and readers’ theater is an effective way for improving learners’ English vocabulary learning achievement as it provides the visual support and opportunities for learners to engage in vocabulary acquisition.

The problem in this research is found in Indonesian subjects that of the 30 students with KKM 75, which has already reached KKM as many as 15 people (41.7%), while that has not reached the KKM as many as 21 students (58.3%). The situation was caused by the teacher in explaining the lesson Indonesian still using a model of lectures and familiarize students to memorize, so that students can develop their ideas. The problems of this study as follows: Is the learning model application role playing can improve learning outcomes Indonesian fifth grade students of SDN 032 Kualu Kecamatan Tambang? This study aims to improve learning outcomes Indonesian grade students of SDN 032 Kualu Kecamatan Tambang through the application of learning models role playing. This research was conducted one month from the month of April 2015. The research was conducted 2 cycles, with each cycle consisting of two meetings as well as twice daily tests. Classroom action research in order to succeed, the researchers set the stage that action planning, action, observation and reflection. Based on the research results, it could be concluded that the activity of teachers in learning implementation role playing, in the first cycle average teacher activity amounted to 62.50% in the category of less pretty, and the activities of teachers in the second cycle of 84.72% in both categories once. Thus there is increased activity of teachers by 22.22% from the first cycle to the second cycle. The average activity of students in the first cycle the percentage of student activity in learning tends to increase. At the first meeting with the average student activity that is 61.25% with the category enough. At the second meeting increased by an average of student activity that is 81.25% with the category enough. The average increase in the activity of the students from the first cycle to the second cycle of 20.00%. The class classically considered complete when a class has achieved a score of 85% of the amount due or to KKM 75 then the class is said to be completed (90.00%). From the above shows that the application of learning models can improve outcomes role playing learning Indonesian grade students of SDN 032 Kualu Kecamatan Tambang, it can be concluded that the hypothesis is accepted as true action.

Reading is one of the important aspects in the communication process. Reading can make someone better understand the contents of the reading. In learning to make it easier for students to understand the contents of the reading it will be easier if it begins with the ability to determine the main ideas of the paragraph. Based on this, the researcher conducted a study by applying the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model to the ability to determine the main idea of the paragraph at the fifth grade students of SD 003 Pulau Kopung. This study aims to determine the effect of the CIRC learning model on the ability to determine the main ideas of paragraphs of fifth grade students of SD Negeri 003 Pulau Kopung. This research method is a quasi- experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. This research was conducted in two classes, the VA class as the control class and VB class as the experimental class with 22 students in each class. The results of the study showed that the CIRC learning model influenced the ability to determine paragraph main ideas with the results of calculations derived from the gain index, the experimental class using the CIRC learning model got an increase in gain of 0.59 with the middle class and the control class with the normal learning model got an increase of 0.31 with medium class.

Linguistic intelligence is one of eight multiple intelligences that currently attracts attention in the world of education. Linguistic intelligence is a person's ability to speak both verbally and in writing, besides that people who have linguistic intelligence also master the components of linguistic intelligence which consists of phonology, syntax, semantics and pragmatics. The type of research used is research and development (R & D) with a 4D model. The subjects in this study were experts as validators, fifth grade students for trials and homeroom teachers in elementary schools. Data collection is done by giving a questionnaire to the validator. In this study the researchers concluded that the product of the developed linguistic intelligence assessment instrument was declared feasible to be used based on the results of validation of 86% with very feasible categories. The obstacle in developing the product of this instrument of linguistic intelligence assessment is the lack of knowledge of the school about the importance of linguistic intelligence for students in elementary schools.

This research is to determine the effect of realistic mathematical approach on students’ learning motivation. The research method is pre-experiment of one group pretest posttest design. This study was conducted with 34 fifth grade students from a public school in Pekanbaru, Indonesia. The results indicate that students’ learning motivation significantly increases. Among six indicators measuring students’ learning motivation, the indicator of interesting activities in learning is the most increase, from 80.76% in pre-test to 86.40% in post-test. The average score of pretest in form of students’ learning motivation questionnaire before applying treatment was 90.56 while score posttest after treatment was 95,09 and the results of the research hypotheses using the comparative t-test tcount (6.997) > ttable (2.039). This means that there is an effect of applying the realistic mathematical approach to students’ learning motivation.

This research is motivated by the low mathematical understanding ability of students who are still low. This research was conducted on fifth grade students of State Primary School 003 Pulau Kopung, Sintajo District, Kuantan Singingi Regency. This study aims to improve the results of understanding of students' mathematics learning outcomes through the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach. From the data analysis of student learning outcomes before and after the Realistic Mathematic Education approach was applied, students who completed only 10 people or 43.47% with incomplete categories. After the first cycle, students who completed increased to 16 or 69.56% with incomplete categories. For the second cycle, the number of students who completed as many as 20 people or equal to 89.95% with complete categories. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the application of the Realistic Mathematic Education approach can improve the understanding of the concept of dividing students into mathematics subjects in class V of Public Primary School 003 Pulau Kopung, Sintajo Raya District, Kuantan Singingi Regency.
