The aim of the present study is to find out the patients’ perception and satisfaction about model pharmacies in Dhaka city, Bangladesh. Model pharmacies of Dhanmondi, Mohammadpur, Mirpur, Kalabagan, Green road, Panthopath, Mohakhali, Gulshan and old Dhaka were considered as the study area. The factors for better health care service have been discussed from the points of patients’ perception. Pharmaceutical sector of Bangladesh is improving day by day although the inclusion of graduate pharmacists in the health sector is not yet implemented. Lack of modern facilities, improper management of medicines, selling of poor quality medicines as well as no counseling in pharmacies for the patients by “A grade” pharmacists are major causes of poor quality health care service. Recent initiation of model pharmacies in Bangladesh may be a hope for better healthcare management and patients’ satisfaction. The correlation matrix shows the factors that impact patients’ satisfaction and purchasing decision in model pharmacy. The most important and significant factors are counseling by “A grade” pharmacists, patient database system, affordable price and quality of medicines. Recommendations have been made for further improvement of the model pharmacies from the patients’ point of view and satisfaction, which might help to create a model for other developed and developing countries.Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Journal 21(1): 47-54, 2018

Patients who received a certain number of treatments will be targeted. Survey questions that will be asked to the patients will try to reveal the amount of information on the procedure they have undertaken and the between this level of information and the their satisfaction. SPSS software is used for the analysis of the data. In this chapter the user interface perception and resources for mobile technology (MT) support in health care service activities is investigated. Most procedures oriented to provide better operation and quality of health service depend on the existing information and communication technology (ICT) system. However, the implementation of new technology competes with funding available for health institutions resources, hence introducing them is complex. The technical difficulties encountered in using ICT are: an inadequate physical infrastructure, quality of service (QoS) issues, and insufficient access by the user to the hardware/software communication infrastructure. A case study by multi-criteria approach was investigated involving three categories of hospitals in Chile and empirical data was collected comprising diverse health sector representatives. The main contribution is the proposed research decision-making model using the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) to evaluate and compare information and communications systems as fixed, wireless, or computer-assisted provisions for health-related activities and to identify the high priority dimensions in a health care service.

ABSTRACT Purpose: to describe aspects of functioning and disability related to hearing and sociodemographic factors of audiology service users. Methods: an exploratory study with a probabilistic sample comprising 152 participants who answered a socioeconomic and assistance questionnaire. The functioning and disability were analyzed by means of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health. Descriptive data analyses were conducted. Results: most users of the Hearing Health Care Service considered they had mild (41.2%) or moderate (34.2%) disability in b1560 Auditory perception, and mild (36%) and moderate (35.1%) disability in b230 Hearing Functions. In Activities and Participation, the users of the Hearing Health Care Service obtained better results in d330 Speaking (83.3%), d315 Communicating with and receiving nonverbal messages (65.8%), and d760 Family relationships (65.1%). The hearing aid was a facilitator in these subjects’ social interaction with the environment. Most of those attending the Audiology Outpatient Center did not have disabilities or difficulties in the activities and participation, and the environment was a facilitator. Conclusion: most of the participants attending the Hearing Health Care Service had a disability in auditory perception and hearing functions. However, such a disability was not a limiting factor in the performance of most of the activities and participations assessed.

As the world struggles to deal with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic, dengue fever endemic regions are facing the threat of a double pandemic that might totally overwhelm administrations of health care service. In Latin America and Asia, simultaneous epidemics of dengue and COVID-19, as well as possible instances of co-infections, have already begun. Because the healthcare system is already stretched enough, a fatal combination like this may devastate hospital emergency departments and the economy as a whole. Frontline clinicians must use precise epidemiological and contact history-taking techniques, as well as pay close attention to false-positive dengue serology and the possibility of co-infections, to tackle this apparently overwhelming obstacle. Key words: Covid-19; Dengue fever; Co-infection; health system
