Purpose: The prime objective of the current study is to explore the nexus between supplier innovativeness, information sharing, strategic sourcing and supply chain agility. The study has tried to investigate the direct impact of supplier innovativeness, information sharing, and strategic sourcing on supply chain agility. Methodology: In addition to that the current study is also interested in examining the mediating role of information sharing and strategic sourcing in the relationship between supplier innovativeness and supply chain agility. The previous research studies have analysed the influence of supplier innovativeness on the performance of the firm. Results: It has been revealed through some research studies that there is a positive association among the performance of manufacturers and supplier innovativeness as well as relationship performance. Thus the current study is among the pioneering studies on this issue. Employing the survey-based methodology, the SEM-PLS technique is used to test the hypothesized relationships. So, the current study has used SEM-PLS as a statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in this study and research objectives envisaged in the current study. The findings of the study have provided support to the theoretical foundation and proposed hypothesis of the current study. Current study will be helpful for policymakers and practitioners in understanding the issues related to supply chain risk, supply chain integration and supply chain performance. In the author's knowledge this is among very few pioneering studies on this issue.

Purpose: The current study is interested in exploring the nexus between manufacturing flexibility supply chain practices and manufacturing performance of Indonesian manufacturing firms. Multidimensionality of manufacturing flexibility within the function of manufacturing is generally accepted by past researchers and its importance honoured. Methodology: Employing the survey-based methodology, the SEM-PLS technique is used to test the hypothesized relationships. So, the current study has used SEM-PLS as a statistical tool to answer the research questions raised in this study and research objectives envisaged in the current study. Results: The complexity of manufacturing flexibility has made this concept difficult to comprehend yet delimit. To date, agreement on how to practice this concept has not yet been resolved. The findings of the study have provided support to the theoretical foundation and proposed hypothesis of the current study. Current study will be helpful for policymakers and practitioners in understanding the issues related to supply chain risk, supply chain integration and supply chain agility. Purpose: The current study is interested in exploring the nexus between product complexities, external and internal knowledge and supply chain flexibility of Indonesian manufacturing firms. Methodology: The study has employed the knowledge-based view to conceptualize the relationship between product complexities, external and internal knowledge and supply chain flexibility of Indonesian manufacturing firms. The complexity of manufacturing flexibility has made this concept difficult to comprehend yet delimit. To date, agreement on how to practice this concept has not yet been resolved. Complex nature and rapidly changing environment of contemporary supply chains make them highly vulnerable to risk. Key facilator of supply chain risk management is information being shared among partners. Thus the aim of this paper is to highlight supply chain members’ approaches to sharing information supporting risk management. To achieve this goal, assumptions related to information policy models in organizational structures have been adopted, broadening the cognitive perspective of the discussed problem. The article is based on data collected from 197 respondents representing enterprises operating in Poland through a survey conducted with paper self-administered questionnaires (PSAQs). The method used applied a nonrepresentative sampling. The results obtained suggest that among studied companies there are three frequently co-ocuring practices forming eight approaches to risk information sharing in the supply chain. These findings, together with demonstrated significant relationships with control variables, create a unique descriptive and interpretative framework of the discussed issue.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to determine if internal integration, information sharing, and training constitute direct antecedents to organizations’ warning and recovery capabilities. Assuming that organizations periodically face various supply chain risks, the authors intend to show that managers can develop these antecedent competencies in ways that bolster their supply chain risk management (SCRM) capabilities. Design/methodology/approach To understand the relationships between the antecedents and SCRM capabilities, the authors used Q-sorts and confirmatory factor analysis to develop new warning and recovery measures. The authors then collected survey data from 231 hospital supply managers and analyzed these records using structural equation modeling. Findings The results indicate that internal integration and training positively affect organizations’ warning and recovery capabilities, in both a direct and indirect manner. The authors also illustrate how managers can leverage their SCRM capabilities to affect operational performance. Research limitations/implications These results suggest that by developing antecedent competencies like internal integration and training, firms may bolster their warning and recovery capabilities, and ultimately operational performance of the organization. Originality/value The findings provide hospital supply organizations and other inventory management teams with a novel approach to managing an evolving array of supply chain risks. Rather than investing in costly risk management techniques, like inventory stocks, organizations can use internal integration and training to improve their SCRM capabilities.

This article investigates non-financial factors affecting performance of livestock farms in the meat supply chain in Albania. A structured questionnaire was developed to collect data in three main regions of Albania (Tirana, Korça and Lushnje). Confirmatory factor analysis is used to develop measures for the non-financial factors (i.e. trust, contracts, opportunistic behavior, information sharing and information quality) and Structural Equation Modelling is employed to test study hypotheses. The result shows that trust is positively associated with farm’s performance. On the other hand, communication (i.e. resulting from the merge of information sharing and information quality) is negatively associated with performance. However, communication appears to have a positive association with farm’s performance indirectly through its effect on trust. Thus, it can be deducted that communication builds trust and trading relationship based on trust show higher levels of farm’s performance. Lastly, contracts and opportunistic behavior do not show any significant association with farm’s performance.
