The aim of this paper is to investigate the relationship between total quality management (TQM), service innovation and firm performance in the Pakistan’s service industry. An empirical survey was performed and there were 190 participants from financial service firms in Pakistan. Regression analysis was employed in this study to investigate the tri-dimensional relationship between TQM, service innovation and firm performance. In the context of financial firms, this research examines how TQM practices adopted and managed to boost service innovation and whether and how TQM practices is going to influence the firm performance through the mediating role of service innovation. A research framework and the related hypotheses are suggested. Direct and indirect impact of each construct of TQM practices on organizational performance was determined. Data analysis discloses that, extent of TQM implementation has a positive and significant influence on service innovation as well as on organizational performance. Furthermore, a positive but a weak relationship was observed between service innovation and organizational performance.  The direct relationship between TQM and organizational performance outperforms the indirect relationship of service innovation and organizational performance. It has contributed in the sense that past researchers have not considered the tri-dimensional relationship between TQM, service innovation and firm performance.

Organizations to engage in strategic change initiatives to remain competitive. Leadership is the top determinant of successful change. This study investigated the factor affecting the employee’s openness to change during process of change and how leadership affects that. We proposed a theoretical framework, modifying (Yue, Men, & Ferguson, 2019) by incorporating Authentic in place of transformational Leadership. We hypothesized that authentic leadership affect organisational trust during change both directly, as well as by inducing transparent communication. Trust would in turn positively affect openness to change. Authentic leadership included 1. Self-Awareness, 2. Relational Transparency, 3. Balanced Processing, and 4. Internalized Moral Perspective, dimensions. Whereas, transparent communication consisted of 1. Participation, 2. Substantiality, 3. Accountability, Factors. Empirical validity was established by conducting a survey using close ended questionnaire. Data was collected from 310 employees working across different service industry in Karachi, and analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structured equation modeling. The finding revealed that transparent communication and authentic leadership have significance direct and indirect relationship with employees’ openness to change. Organizational trust has significant relationship with employees’ openness to change during change process. However Authentic leader has weak direct relation with transparent communication and there is no significance relationship between authentic leadership and trust with mediating role of transparent communication. However, trust significantly mediate all the factors of authentic leadership except Self-Awareness, and Openness to Change. Similarly, trust also mediated Substantiality, and Accountability factors of communication, and openness. Lastly, substantiality also offered a partial mediatory role between authentic leadership and trust.

The main purpose of present study is to examine the effect of strategic improvisation and total quality management on performance. This study also examined the mediating effect of corporate entrepreneurship between strategic improvisation and total quality management on performance. The data was collected from the employees of SME’s through questionnaires. For collection of data simple random sampling was adopted. The response rate of study was 60.04%. the gathered data was assessed by using PLS-SEM through smart PLS-3.3.2. Its been revealed from the findings of the study that there exist positive relationship among strategic improvisation, TQM and SME Performance. Moreover, mediating role of corporate entrepreneurship is confirmed as well. The findings of present study are helpful for the policy makers of SME sector to develop strategy to improve organizational performance.

AbstractHow firms’ dynamic capabilities lead to their competitive advantage and improved firm performance has been a core issue and full of debates. In this research, we theorize that dynamic capabilities, which could be defined by three distinct dimensions (sensing capability, integration capability, and reconfiguration capability), facilitate different types of innovation that in turn improve firm performance. Based on a sample of 204 Chinese firms, results from partial least squares structural equation modeling analyses generally support our arguments despite some nuanced differences existing among different dimensions of dynamic capabilities. This study contributes to dynamic capabilities literature by reducing the scarcity of empirical research and by uncovering the mechanisms through which dynamic capabilities influence firm performance.

This paper examines the influences of cultural diversity in the top management team (TMT) on organizational performance. The link between the two is investigated through the path dependency model, where firm ambidextrous orientation serves an intervening role. The results of the study suggest that TMT cultural diversity will have a negative influence on firm performance due to the decreasing degree of ambidextrous orientation being a result of TMT diversity. The study is based on the survey filled out by 82 CEO of Danish and Swedish listed corporations. Studies theoretical contribution is expressed in uncovering the mediating role of firm’s ambidextrous orientation on the TMT diversity – performance relationship.

PurposeThis study investigates the mediating role of brand love in two important relationships: first, corporate social responsibility (CSR)–word-of-mouth (WoM) intentions and second, corporate ability (CA)–WoM relationships.Design/methodology/approachData were collected with a sample of 359 respondents, and partial least squares-based structural equation modeling was utilized for data analysis.FindingsThe research reveals interesting findings as brand love fully mediates the CSR–WoM relationship, whilst it partially mediates the CA–WoM relationship.Practical implicationsThe results demonstrate that cellular service firms should strive to create brand love. This is because CSR investments can be diligently translated into WoM intentions through brand love.Originality/valueThe proposal and validation of brand love as a mediator in CSR–WoM and CA–WoM relationships in the cellular service context of a South Asian market is the key contribution of this research.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is twofold. First, it aims to analyze the individual influence of different knowledge management practises (KMP) on firm performance. Second, it aims to analyze the mediating role of organizational learning (OL) between each KMP and performance. Design/methodology/approach A telephone-survey was applied in 2018 to the managers of 400 Spanish firms. The data retrieved was analyzed by using multiple regression analysis. Findings Knowledge generation (KG) and knowledge flow (KF) promote firm performance, while there is not a direct association between knowledge storage and performance. OL mediates the relationship between KG and performance, as well as between KF and performance. Research limitations/implications First, this research confirms that not all the KMP have a direct effect on firm performance, thus, future research would need to differentiate between different KMP. Second, this paper is pioneering in providing empirical evidence that OL mediates the KMP – performance relationship. Third, the empirical study was performed in a context non-researched yet by the literature considering KMP individually: Spain. Practical implications First, besides the results managers should focus their efforts in practises related to KG and application. Second, OL mediating suggests that managers should invest in managerial commitment to promote a shared culture, shared vision, open-mind to new ideas and a lot of dialogue. Originality/value This is the first study that investigates how KMP contribute to firm performance by incorporating the mediating impact of OL. The results will help organizations to identify the KMP improving the performance.
