Mobile language learning applications, having exploded in popularity and growth, have the potential to transform the way languages are learned. This study examined the fifty most popular commercially-available language learning applications for mobile phones and evaluated them according to a wide range of criteria. Three major trends were found: first, apps tend to teach vocabulary in isolated units rather than in relevant contexts; second, apps minimally adapt to suit the skill sets of individual learners; and third, apps rarely offer explanatory corrective feedback to learners. Despite a pedagogical shift toward more communicative approaches to language learning, these apps are behaviorist in nature. To better align with Second Language Acquisition (SLA) and L2 pedagogical research, we recommend the incorporation of more contextualized language, adaptive technology, and explanatory feedback in these applications.

Travel routing is vital for efficient delivery of public and private services and the movement of people and goods. In Ghana, the major nature of travel routing is through the ‘trotro’ system. The trotro system uses an automobile to move people and goods along a prescribed travel route, with locally known stops where people get on and off the vehicle. The trotro system is significant because Ghana's road network and street addressing are imperfectly mapped. Thus, this paper critically evaluates the research challenges and opportunities for the development of an integrated trotro geographic addressing system. The widespread trotro address assignment and the availability of geolocation technology on mobile phones, make the integrated trotro geographic addressing framework an inexpensive and a comprehensive approach. The key research questions that need investigation for the development of such an integrated geographic addressing system are identified, together with a critical review of the problem, and its research challenges and prospects.

The vast emergence of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) lead governments to adopt the use of ICT to deliver services to their citizens, businesses, and government constituents. These services can be delivered via the Internet using web technology (e-government) in an interactive way like any other e-service. But with the advent and wide use of mobile technologies, governments transformed their mechanism in delivering service to utilize more the capabilities of mobile phones through the better employment of mobile government (m-government). M-government utilizes mobile technologies to better deliver services to citizens, but this enforces some challenges to both governments and the recipients of services. In this paper the authors addressed the challenges and opportunities of m-governments in terms of mobile services (m-services).
