Abstract Background: Tobacco hazard is known as one of the most critical public health problems. Nurses could and should help patients to quit smoking. However, the lack of tobacco cessation education of nurses at medical school leads to the absence of behaviors helping smokers to quit. The analysis of the factors that influencing the nursing interns to help smokers to quit provide evidence for nursing school to administer tobacco cessation education to facilitate more behaviors of smoking cessation in future nurses.Method: To explore the interaction and the effect coefficient among the influencing factors of the 5As behaviors of nursing interns in helping smokers to quit provide and to provide evidences for the tobacco cessation education, a questionnaire based on the PRECEDE theory was developed with consideration of predisposing factor, enabling factor and reinforcing factor. Random Cluster Sampling was used to conduct a survey in 13 teaching hospitals selected from 29 in Chongqing to assess the 5As behaviors of all nursing interns. A structural equation model was established to test the path and effect coefficient of their 5As behaviors. Results: The survey investigated 1358 nurses, and the model fitted well with the data. The tobacco cessation education, one of the enabling factors, imposed max effect on the 5As of nursing interns directly(β=0.542,p<0.001) and indirectly(β=0.38,p<0.001)through self-efficacy. The reinforcing factors ( smoking cessation environment) imposed direct effect (β=0.305,p<0.001)and indirect effect on the 5As of nursing interns through attitude changes. Predisposing factors including self-efficacy influenced the 5As directly, while attitude(β=0.001,p<0.05)and knowledge(β=0.008,p<0.05)of tobacco cessation implied indirect influence on the 5As through self-efficacy change. Conclusion: Tobacco cessation education was the major factor that influenced the nursing interns’ behaviors of helping patients to quit smoking. Enhanced responsibility of smoking cessation education and skills training of clinical teachers can prompt them to actively help patients to quit smoking, actively instruct students the knowledge and skills of smoking quit to increase students' behavior of helping smokers to quit.

This study aims to investigate the impact of parental career behaviors on undergraduate student’s career exploration and the mediating role of career self-efficacy. In the literature it is suggested that some social and individual factors facilitate students’ career exploration. Therefore, parental career behaviors and career self-efficacy is considered as predictors of student’s career exploration attitudes within the scope of the study. In this respect, data which are collected from 405 undergraduate students having an education on tourism and hotel management field by the survey method are analyzed by using the structural equation modeling. The results of the study indicate that parental career behaviors which are addressed support; interference and lack of engagement have a significant effect on student’s career exploration behaviors such as intended-systematic exploration, environment exploration and self-exploration. In addition, it has been found that one of the dimensions of parental career behaviors addressed as a lack of engagement has a significant effect on career self-efficacy levels of students. However, research results indicate that student’s career self-efficacy has a significant effect on only the self-exploration dimension. On the other hand, career self-efficacy has a partial mediating role between lack of engagement attitudes of parents and career exploration behaviors of students.

This study examined the impact of organizational commitment and valence on training motivation and, in turn, the impact of training motivation on posttraining self-efficacy. Data were collected from 264 part-time university athletic department employees both prior to and following a mandatory training session. Structural equation modeling indicated that organizational commitment (b = .53,p< .001) and valence (b = .26,p< .001) held positive associations with training motivation, accounting for 45% of the variance. Additionally, training motivation held a significant association with posttraining self-efficacy (b = .37,p< .001), accounting for 13% of the variance. The results demonstrate (a) salient antecedents of training motivation, and (b) the importance of training motivation in realizing training outcomes within the context of university athletic departments.

The main purpose of our study is to find out the impact of financial socialization, cognitive ability, and self-efficacy on financial literacy and financial behavior of investors in Pakistan. This study has used a non-probability convenience-based sampling technique for collecting the data. A total of 429 individual investors were analyzed with the help of structural equation modeling (SEM) through Smart PLS. The results of our research study suggested that the participation of female investors as compare to male investors is very low. The main results of the study showed that cognitive ability and self-efficacy have a significantly positive impact on financial literacy, but an insignificant impact of these two variables on financial behavior was found. Findings also suggested that the influence of financial socialization on financial literacy is insignificant, while financial behavior is positively influenced by financial socialization and financial literacy. In mediating analysis cognitive ability and self-efficacy have positively affected financial behavior, while financial socialization has an insignificant effect on financial behavior through financial literacy. This research study provides important implications for researchers and other policymakers. Policymakers can formulate policies regarding trainings to improve the financial literacy of investors. Researcher can further investigate these variables for other segments of the society.

Entrepreneurial intention plays a decisive role in the process of becoming an entrepreneur. It is not only the prerequisite for establishing a business but it also influences an individual’s behavior. This study aims to investigate the impact of three key personality traits of a prospective entrepreneur (entrepreneurial passion, creativity, and self-efficacy) in shaping their entrepreneurial intention. It is proposed that entrepreneurial passion, creativity, and self-efficacy positively influence entrepreneurial intention. Primary data were collected from 408 Chartered Accountancy (CA) students of the National Capital Region (NCR) of India with the help of a structured questionnaire. The cluster sampling method was used to select the sample from the targeted population. The data were analyzed using structural equation modeling (SEM). The results establish that the entrepreneurial intention of CA students is significantly influenced by their creativity, entrepreneurial passion, and self-efficacy, as all three traits allow an entrepreneur to identify opportunities with profit potential. A student who is passionate, creative, and confident in exploiting the new business idea will develop an intention to become an entrepreneur. The present study contributes to the literature by investigating the entrepreneurial intention of CA students, which has not been explored earlier. The significance of this study facilitates academicians and accounting organizations to focus on the personality traits of students, which helps in developing entrepreneurial intention in them.

PurposeUser behavior in online information evaluation is the result of a multitude of factors related to social, cultural, personal and psychological issues. The present study aimed to examine the effects of three important psychological variables including personality, self-efficacy and attitude on online information evaluation.Design/methodology/approachFour validated measures were administrated in person and online among 355 postgraduate students at Shahed University, Tehran, Iran. For testing the possible relationships among the variables, the reliability, normality and Pearson correlation tests were performed by using SPSS 24.0. Moreover, to test the ten hypotheses of the research, the structural equation modeling was considered using AMOS 26.0.FindingsThe findings confirmed the first five research hypotheses indicating the direct positive relationships among the four variables except for the impact of self-efficacy on attitude. The mediated effects of the variables were not supported except for the mediating role of attitude in the impact of personality on online evaluation behavior. The variable personality was found to be fundamental among the tested paths because it influenced the information evaluation behavior, both directly and indirectly.Originality/valueThe study showed the impacts of the three variables, which demonstrates that online information evaluation is greatly affected by psychological factors.

The objective of this research was to explore the impact factors of sustainable corporate governance for top consulting engineering companies in Taiwan, to facilitate managers in meeting stakeholders’ needs and adapting to the challenges of the global markets. Nine hypotheses derived from a literature review were proposed and used to develop a survey. Based on the concept of structural equation modeling (SEM) and these hypotheses, a questionnaire containing six aspects and comprising 46 stems was developed using the Likert 5-scale format. The survey took around four months to administer with 324 effective returns, with only five hypotheses confirmed. This was followed by factor analysis to determine the weight sequence for the 28 impact factors and four aspects. The contributions of the findings are as follows: (1) the weighted factors provide practitioners with guidelines for the proper order for the implementation of measures to improve corporate governance, and (2) they answer questions about the degree of influence and the relationship among all aspects and factors for sustainable corporate governance.
