Abstract Background: Large intracardiac bronchogenic cysts are rare mediastinal masses, however they must always be considered in the differential diagnosis of heart failure. Case Presentation: We present a 60-year-old female patient with de novo atrial fibrillation and heart failure, resulting from an incidental large intrapericardial mass. The patient underwent successful surgical resection, with pathological findings confirming a bronchogenic cyst. Conclusions: Large bronchogenic cysts located intrapericardially are very rare, however they should be included in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with atrial fibrillation and heart failure.

Abstract Background Large intracardiac bronchogenic cysts are rare mediastinal masses. However, they must always be considered in the differential diagnosis of heart failure with abnormal chest X-ray. Case presentation We present a 60-year-old female patient with de novo atrial fibrillation, heart failure and a very large intrapericardial mass. The patient underwent successful surgical resection, with pathological findings confirming a bronchogenic cyst. Conclusions Large bronchogenic cysts located intrapericardially are very rare. However, they should be included in the differential diagnosis of patients presenting with atrial fibrillation and heart failure with abnormal radiologic studies.

A 2-year-old, neutered male, domestic shorthair cat was presented for investigation of dyspnea and episodic weakness. Clinical and ultrasonographic features were consistent with right ventricular cardiomyopathy. Pathological findings documented Uhl’s anomaly. Although rare, Uhl’s anomaly should be a differential diagnosis for cats with right-sided congestive heart failure. In particular, Uhl’s anomaly could be misdiagnosed as arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy due to the similarity of clinical and echocardiographic findings.

Abstract This is a case report about very rare findings in 2nd half of pregnancy (after normal 1 trimester scan ) at 18th week of gestation fetal macrosomia was detected unrelated to maternal diabetes, and acceleration fetal growth later on with unusual cardiac abnormalities (fetal cardiomegaly, cardiomyopathy, partial abnormal venous connection ). Progressive features of congestive heart failure with polyhydramnios in a fetus with estimated 5500 g predicted a poor outcome and severe neonatal condition, which was presented and discussed with the parents to be. Casearean section was performed at 33rd weeks of gestation due to maternal dyscomfort, severe legs edema and her tachypnoe. Baby boy was delivered with birth weight of 5050g, Apgar 4 with mutiple tumors. Conservative care was introduced and neonated died on the 3rd day. Differential diagnosis was discussed with special attention to Costello syndrome however without proved by genetic make-up from neonatal blood.

Bronchogenic cysts are rare and usually asymptomatic. There are very few reports of bronchogenic cysts producingatrial fibrillation in the literature. We present a rare case of atrial fibrillation as a complication of a mediastinal bronchogenic cyst. To our knowledge, there have been only 13 cases of atrial fibrillation caused by a bronchogenic cyst published in the literature. As demonstrated by prior studies, surgical resection has been a successful treatment of the atrial fibrillation in this population. Our case report presents additional evidence to support the effectiveness of surgical resection in the treatment of bronchogenic cyst induced atrial fibrillation.
