Progress in the development of solid propellants and knowledge determining the possibility of increasingly detailed analysis of phenomena occurring during the process of propelling projectiles are the main factors in the development of powders and gun propellant systems. The growth of potential ammunition and powder propellant systems is focused on improving the energetic, ballistic and operational characteristics of currently used powders and on searching for new propellants with a more environmentally friendly chemical composition (so-called green propellants). This paper presents an analysis of the possibilities in propellant systems development in the 21st century, from the internal ballistics perspective. At present, the most promising, from the tactical and technical point of view, are the propellant systems with layered powders (for a classic propellant system solution) and ETC (Electrothermo-Chemical gun) systems.

The use of antibodies as labels for the localization of specific molecules in the nervous systan has been extensively applied in recent years. Both monoand polyclonal antibodies or antisera have been employed. The knowledge of the organization of neuronal connectivities, gliovascular relationships, glioneuronal relationships and other features of nerve tissue has greatly increased.A number of areas of the nervous systan have been analyzed in our laboratory, including the nuclei of the raphe system, the reticular formation, interpeduncular nucleus, substantia nigra, caudate nucleus, putamen, pallidum, spinal cord, pineal gland and others. From a technical point of view, a number of variables needed to be taken into account in order to obtain reliable and reproducible results. The design of the optimal conditions of tissue fixation, embedding, sectioning, dilution of antibodies, and adaptation of Sternberger PAP technique were sane of the parameters taken into account to optimize the results. It is critical that each step of the technique be defined for each particular case.

Abstract In order to increase the competitiveness of an agricultural holding through the efficient use of the production factors, the modernization of an agricultural farm was carried out by exending the existing greenhouse with at least 700m2 for the intensive cultivation of ornamental plants - Thuja Orientalis. The material is produced by initiating crops in pots, with seedlings grown in pots or transplanting them in pots right after the first year of the multiplication and growing them in containers, appropriate to their size, until reaching their full value. From a technical point of view, reaching the objective will also be possible through a localized irrigation system.

This paper presents an intensive procedure used for the decontamination of the soils, which were radioactively contaminated by uranium, due to the occurrence of some antropic accidents, in order to limit the areas pollution. The procedure used for the chemical decontamination of the polluted soils was the washing one and the decontamination degree is comparatively presented depending on the ultrasounds presence and absence. The lab testes were performed on five types of soils , which were characterized from the granulometric, structural and chemical composition viewpoint, all these aspects represent the main factors, which determine the applied decontamination procedures limits and performances correlated with its utilization costs. The decontamination procedures kinetics for each type of soils was analyzed, using successively three different types of reagents (water, 0.1 M sulphuric acid solution and chloro-sodic solution 100 g/L sodium chloride + 10 g/L sodium carbonate in water) for a solid to liquid ratio of 1:2, during 2 h, at a temperature of 20oC in a mechanic stirring system respectively in ultrasounds field. It was observed that the decontamination degree increases with up to 15-20% in case of the ultrasound field utilization comparing to the first case.

The objective of this study was to evaluate, from a technological and nutritional point of view, the chemical composition and functional properties of the industrial winemaking by-products, namely skins, stems and lees. The chemical and physical characteristics, as well as the functional properties (fat and water retention and swelling capacity, antioxidant capacity, and their prebiotic effect), of the dietary fibre of these by-products were studied. The results showed that the skins, stems, and lees are rich in fibre, with the stem fibre containing the highest amounts of non-extractable polyphenols attached to polysaccharides with high antioxidant activity and prebiotic effect. Lee fibre had the highest water retention capacity and oil retention capacity. The results reveal that winemaking by-products could be used as a source of dietary fibre with functional characteristics for food applications.

The blue honeysuckle is the earliest ripening berry, which ripens 7–10 days earlier than the garden strawber-ries under the conditions of Sakhalin's climate. It is resistant to lower fungi and parasites and can be cultivat-ed without pesticides. Currently, many honeysuckle varieties with fruits of different morphologies and chemical composition have been bred. We analyzed values of economically valuable indicators and chemical composition in 14 varieties of honeysuckle, which grow in the monsoon climate of Sakhalin. To assess the most productive variety, the values of each character were presented as percentage of the maximum for each indicator. Knowing the total values of characters under investigation made it possible to choose the best va-rieties, from authors` point of view, to grow in the household gardens in the monsoon climate of Sakhalin: from the Pavlovsk Experimental Station of Vavilov Institute of Plant Industry – Leningradsky giant (506.4%), Berel (432.9%) and Viola (423.4%).

The article describes and explains a prior centric Bayesian forecasting model for the 2020 US elections. The model is based on the The Economist forecasting project, but strongly differs from it. From the technical point of view, it uses R and Stan programming and Stan software. The article’s focus is on theoretical decisions made in the process of constructing the model and outcomes. It describes why Bayesian models are used and how they are used to predict US presidential elections.

Production of enzyme preparations occupies one of the leading places in modern biotechnology and belongs to the industries whose production is constantly growing and the field of application is expanding. Various enzyme preparations are widely used in the field of nutrition, this is due to their high catalytic activity, specificity of action, the ability to carry out biochemical reactions in mild conditions. Therefore, it is advisable to use enzymes for various industrial processes, both from an economic and technological point of view. The purpose of the work was to investigate the chemical composition and the activity of papain enzyme preparation with subsequent application in technology of meat production in order to increase the biological value and improve the functional and technological properties of the finished product. The analysis of literature sources and own research shows the prospects for research and the application of enzymes and enzyme preparations based on them in the food industry, as it improves the quality of finished products and the level of greening of production, more rational use of raw materials. As a result of a study of the chemical composition, it was found that the papain enzyme has a high protein content of 87.44%, due to which it has a broader effect on meat proteins. The dependence of papain activity on the pH of the medium, temperature, sodium chloride concentration, and enzyme concentration was studied. The results of the studies showed that the highest papain activity is in the range at pH 5.5–6.0. The enzyme has a maximum collagenase activity at pH 6.0 and at a temperature of 50–60 °C.

The article analyses experimental studies of lexical ambiguity (polysemy and homonymy). In total, 42 papers published between 1981 and 2017 were selected for analysis. Selected works were analyzed from the point of view of a) interaction of the main factors of lexical ambiguity resolution (meaning dominance and context), b) modularity/interactivity of language systems. The choice of these issues was caused by the fact that, despite a significant number of papers addressing them, a common theoretical model of lexical ambiguity resolution is still missing. The analysis concluded that none of the existing models could be chosen as the only true one. I believe that it is more promising to combine all models into one; in this case, we should not talk about “models” but about “algorithms” or “strategies”. This merge is compatible with the results of studies of hemispheric asymmetry, which showed that the right and left hemispheres differently process ambiguous words. This difference is projected on the difference between the two main points of view on language processing, interactive and modular. Also, as a result of the analysis, the properties of meaning dominance and context as the main factors influencing the perception of ambiguity are summarized, and the ways and possibilities of their interaction are determined. These factors can participate in the process of resolving ambiguity autonomously or together, with different functions, speed, and levels of perception.
