Techniques and procedures were developed for cataloging, indexing, and storing information concerning diverse music education materials in a computer-assisted information retrieval system. Indexing procedures and bibliographic file formats were developed, and a data base of 830 documents was created. One subject area was indexed for content and a thesaurus of descriptors developed for it. The subfile so indexed consisted of 107 documents. Searches were made of the data base, with completely accurate results demonstrating that many different types of music education materials can be efficiently manipulated in a computer-assisted information retrieval system.

This is the age of information explosion. A massive quantity of information is being generated, a large portion of which is found in newspapers. It is posing a unique challenge for information managers for processing information and providing required information to information seekers. This article discusses a newspaper information retrieval system named Vidyasagar University News Archive (VUNA), which has been developed by information specialists for effective management and retrieval of information from newspapers. This article highlights the salient technical issues related to the development of a prototype online digital newspaper information retrieval system suitable for India. The basic architecture, operational features, etc. have been discussed and a comparative picture of respective performance and failures of existing online newspaper archives in India and VUNA also has been drawn. This research represents one of the steps aimed to address one of the most important challenges on the Web and digital libraries, which is compute  the rank of the document’s, and its importance, and their relevance to the user and to meet their needs for information, and so by taking advantage of the vast potential of logic Fuzzy in dealing with this kind of problems, and provide high flexibility for the user to clarify the issues and areas that interested them. This research is concernd on the design and implementation of a proposal for the information retrieval system, called Fuzzy Information Retrieval System(FZIRS). This system is designed to deal with a huge distributed database on a group of computers (servers) associated with the Intranet network specially designed to work the system, which includes different types and sizes of text files. The proposed system has the ability for mining of data mining from the database and retrieve useful information from them and that meet the user's needs well. This accomlished  through the applying of the proposed algorithms for indexing operations and calculate the rank of documents and generate keywords operations and display the  retrival results, which showed high quality when calculating results compared with other Information retrieving algorithms.

The article analyzes the terminology of speech dynamics, in particular the semantic relation between the terms in the language of the search of the iSybislaw system: the names of the varieties of secondary nomination and semantic derivation. The specificity of semantic neologisms is that they express different types of derivative meanings, the development of which may occur primarily in a non-morphological way of word formation, which does not involve changing the form of the word. We classify semantic innovations as a new meaning in the semantics of an already existing word. Researchers of dynamic processes in lexicon, a new meaning of the present word, as a consequence of its semantic derivation, are distinguished as a kind of neologism. N. Z. Kottelova points to the existence of “neologisms-values” as emerging as a result of semantic derivations on the basis of metaphor and other transfers of nomination or verbal derivation, when the semantic neologism was formed morphologically. In modern linguistic literature there are different classifications of the types of semantic changes that cause the derivation of the meanings of verbal units. The formal-semantic relation between the terms for the meaning of semantic changes in the language of the keywords of the iSybislaw information retrieval system represents not only duplicity, but also more and more meaningful differences in such terms, the need for their aspect of the article. In our opinion, the specifics of semantic neologisms are that they express different types of derivative meanings, the development of which may occur primarily in a non-morphological way of word formation, which does not involve changing the form of the word. The varieties of semantic derivation are: metaphorical transfer, metonymy, expansion of meaning, narrowing, semantic shift (preservation of semantic volume). The expansion and narrowing of the nominating volume are closely related to the processes of termination and determinism. Semantic traces are considered as part of semantic neologisms formed by verbal derivation on the basis of a common form of known values with new borrowings. The results of semantic changes may also be the improvements (reclamation) and deterioration (pejorations) of values (along with its narrowing or expansion); gain, hyper-semantic value; desemation. Semantic processes include the processes of depoliticization and deideologization of certain groups of words. To display the semantic potential of vocabulary, it is extremely necessary not only to identify and describe the effects of semantic changes of different types, but also to unify the terminology of their designation, to develop a conceptual and methodical-procedural apparatus for their analysis, to determine the criteria for their normalization and codification for fixing in the Ukrainian dictionaries the register of new generation and future electronic thesaurus of Slavic linguistic terminology, the need for which is becoming increasingly clear to the developers of the iSybislaw system.

The search for information is one of the main components of human activity. The ideal information retrieval system should issue only documents that are relevant to the request. Today, real information retrieval systems provide a completeness factor of 70%, and a search accuracy factor – at a level sometimes even 10%. Thus, the well-known information retrieval systems are currently unable to meet the modern needs of users. The global trend in the processing of large arrays of information, which allows you to solve new classes of problems based on available information resources, is the intellectualization of information and data processing. As a standard of knowledge engineering in the development of information retrieval systems, it is worthwhile to use ontologies that are widely used in the work of search engines and information retrieval systems, as ontologies are an effective tool for organizing a semantic search. The use of ontologies as part of information retrieval systems helps to solve a number of methodological and technological problems that arise during the development of such systems. Given the fact that software is the basis of all modern areas of business, and achieving high values of its quality is a key factor in ensuring the effective use of software and one of the main requirements of users and stakeholders for modern software, the purpose of this study is to develop an effective information retrieval system (based on ontologies) for the software quality industry. The paper proposes the concept of information retrieval system (based on ontologies) for the field of software quality, in particular, the ontology of the subject area of software quality is developed, which reflects the semantic relationships between the concepts of the subject area and will form the basis of a search of information about software quality, in particular, the basis of the thesaurus of the future information retrieval system.

Nowadays, different types of content in different languages are available on World Wide Web and their usage is increasing rapidly. Cross Language Information Retrieval (CLIR) deals with retrieval of documents in another language than the language of the requested query. Various researchers worked on Cross Language Information Retrieval systems for Indian languages using different translation approaches. There is still CLIR system to be developed which allow user to retrieve Marathi documents when English query is given. In the proposed English to Marathi Cross Language Information Retrieval system, translation is based on query translation approach. The proposed system retrieves Marathi documents depending on matching terms in query. The performance of the proposed system is improved by query pre-processing and query expansion using WordNet.
