The study attempted to analyze the implementation of character education in the English lessons at SMP Negeri 1 Banjar. The subjects of the research were the eighth grade students and the English teacher. The researcher analyzed the lesson plans and the implementation to investigate how character education was inserted in the teaching of the four basic skills in English which has been integrated in the process of teaching and learning in 2013 curriculum. The instruments in this study consisted of interview guide, recorder, lesson plan analysis checklist, and observation checklist. Result of the analysis indicates that the teacher inserts the character values in indicators, learning materials, learning steps, and assessment instrument in lesson plans. In teaching and learning activities, character values are also implemented. However, the character values which are inserted in learning activities are different from one with another. It depends on the topic and indicators that will be achieved. In the evaluation, the strategies which were used by the teacher were in the form of advice and scoring rubric to assess character education in the process of teaching and learning.

The morality and character of the Indonesian nation are decreasing. This is evidenced by many cases of violence, sexuality, drugs, cybercrime, bullying. Some students also commit deviant actions such as cheating and smoking. This study aims to analyze the practice of character education in learning English. This type of research is qualitative. The methods used to collect data are observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The instruments used in this study were interview guides, note-takers, lesson plan analysis checklists, and observation checklists. The technique used to analyze the data is descriptive qualitative analysis. The results showed that the teacher had inserted the character values in the lesson plans contained in the indicators, learning materials, learning steps, assessment instruments, and the teaching and learning process. Furthermore, learning topics and indicators affect the differences in character values contained in the learning process. While the assessment of character education in the teaching and learning process used by the teacher is an investigation in the form of an advice and assessment rubric. This research implies that teachers can instill character values in students so that they can form superior student characters.

The first stage in learning according to the standard process is learning planningthat is realized by the preparation of the Implementation Lesson Plan. In theframework of implementing the 2013 curriculum, teachers must prepare lessonplans by adjusting some components to the curriculum documents. There are some teachers who are confused when they have to formulate lesson plans because the subjects taught are different from their educational background, it has an impact on the failure of the learning process and also inhibits the improvement of the quality of the school itself. The problem solving that is applied in this research is to provide continuous guidance to the teacher in creating lesson plans. This study uses two rounds of action research. Each round consists of four stages: designing, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The targets of this study are all teachers at SDN 10 Nanga Tayap. The data obtained in the form of observations of teaching and learning activities. From the results of the analysis it was found that the ability of teachers in arranging lesson plans has increased from cycle I to cycle II, that is, cycle I in the range of 109, with quite good categories, and in the second cycle in the range of 152 with very good categories. The conclusion from this study is that the method of sustainable guidance can positively influence the ability of teachers in preparing lesson plans at SDN 10 Nanga Tayap.

Basic teaching skills of Core Teaching Standards model for prospective Chemistry teachers are important in enhancing the competence as they deal with world of education. This study aimed at determining the process of teaching and learning activities as well as basic teaching skills using Core Teaching Standards among prospective chemistry in Microteaching Program 1 (PPL 1) class at Muhammadiyah University of Pontianak. Using descriptive design and quantitative approach, 16 students participated as the subjects. The techniques used in this research were direct observation and direct communication. The data collection technique included observation sheet and interview guide that covered 10 standards. They were student development, learning difference, learning environment, materials, application of materials, assessment, lesson plan, teaching strategy, professionalism in teaching, and leadership and collaboration. The study reveals that the students gained the highest score on standard 9 (professionalism in teaching) by 81,65% and was considered very good. Whereas, they hed the lowest score on standard 6 (assessment) by 58,21% and was considered fair by 58,21%.Keywords: Core Teaching Standards, basic teaching skills, Microteaching 1 (PPL 1)

AbstractLesson planning requires preparing and selecting learning objectives, materials, method, learning activities, and assessment instrument. In this case, preparing the lesson plan in online learning through the use of Google Classroom is a new thing for the teacher, especially the teacher in SMPN 1 Abang Karangasem. The purpose of this study is to analyze the lesson plan preparation through Google Classroom based on scientific approach in K-13 curriculum. This study uses qualitative design as the design of the study, with the questionnaire used as the instrument contains by the following aspects: 1) learning objectives, 2) learning materials, 3) learning activities, 4) learning media and sources, and 5) learning assessment. The results of the study found that the lesson plans developed by the teacher well-developed, as the lesson plan also fulfill 5 aspects of a complete lesson plan. Thus, it can be implied that the lesson plan developed is applicable to be conducted in online learning.

The general objective of the present research was to describe the steps taken in preparing the lesson plans in learning English through Google Classroom and to analyze the problems faced by the English teacher in the SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja. The research was designed as a descriptive qualitative. Data on the steps that had been taken by the English teacher in preparing lesson plans for learning English through Google Classroom were collected by means of a questionnaire. Similarly, data on the problems faced by the English teacher in preparing lesson plans for learning English in were gathered using a questionnaire. The second questionnaire also contained twenty items corresponded to the items in the first questionnaire. The obtained data from the two questionnaires are presented in the following sections. The first research findings show that the steps had been taken in prearing the lesson plans in learning English in SMAN 3 Singaraja followed 5 aspects of curriculum 2013 lesson plan, such as: 1) learning objectives, 2) learning materials, 3) learning activities, 4) learning media and sources, and 5) learning assessment. The second research findings consisted of nine problems, they were: the English teacher mentioned 7 problems found when they prepared the lesson plans for learning English in the SMA Negeri 3 Singaraja, which occurred in the aspect of learning objectives, learning activities, and learning assessment.

<p>The research is motivated not yet using CTL approach. In addition, the study provided yet foster the character value of students. This study aimed to the development of learning materials by using CTL approach with the integration of character value are valid, practical, and effective. The type of this research is research and development by using 4-D models. The stages of this research are define, design, and development. The define stage consists of analyzing of curriculum, students, and concept. Then, the learning materials as lesson plan, handout, student’s worksheet, and evaluation, were designed at design stage. The development stage was doing validity, practicality, and effectiveness test. The data of this research was collected by using validation instruments, questionnaire of students and teacher, observation and test instruments. The result of research with validity of the test results showed that the syllabus, lesson plans, teaching materials, worksheets and assessment sheets (cognitive, affective and psychomotor) developed very valid. The test results showed that the learning practicalities developed very practical. Based on the results of efficacy trials, it was stated that the developed learning very effectively used as learning tools are developed to improve the activity and competence of students in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor and behavioral character. And Those, learning materials by using CTL approach with the integration of character values are classification of very valid, very practical, and effective.</p>

As educators in schools, teachers have some duties and responsibilities not only to teach, but also to administer the school. Islam gives an overview of the duties and responsibilities for teachers in educational administration. The purpose of this paper is to propose a logical consequence of the professionalism of teachers in Islamic education. The professional duties of teachers as administrators in Islamic Education among others are to run instructional management and management in general such as managing school, utilizing the procedures and mechanisms to carry out their duties and act in accordance with the professional ethics. Besides, they also have to create a good physical condition of classrooms and qualified teaching tool, prepare for daily teaching, create conducive conditions so that learners have willingness to learn, design a lesson plan quarterly and annually, prepare for teaching in accordance with the schedule and lesson plan, evaluate and make a report of students’ achievement to several parties, make some revision based on the results of the evaluation, get to know the talents, interests and abilities of students, help students to improve and direct the talents and interests of students, participate and maintain reputation of the institution and write a report of teaching and learning activities. All in all, teachers also have a responsibility given by Allah to do their best in teaching.

In the Republic of Indonesia Government Regulation No. 19/2005, regarding National Education Standards (SNP), it is stated that the curriculum is a set of plans and arrangements regarding the objectives, content, and learning materials and the ways used as guidelines for organizing learning activities to achieve certain educational goals.

<p>Belief is an underlying case in human’s decision and attitude, including in the classroom interaction context. Its existence in classroom interaction is revealed in this article by identifying and describing the students’ and teacher’s belief about their classroom interaction toward teaching and learning English. The study was carried out using qualitative case study in Surakarta, at eighth grades student and their English teacher. The data were collected through questionnaire, interview, classroom observation, and teacher’s lesson plan which then reduced to find the smallest valuable unit, categorized based on similarity, and compared to find the relation between the categories thus hypothesis is constructed as the answer. The research findings show that: (1) students believe they have good classroom interaction; (2) the teacher believes that interaction is the students’ need facilitating media; then (3) the belief has affected the students’ paradigm, that now they like English, and has affected the teacher’s decision making on her social interaction and her way of teaching. Having positive belief is beneficial to support cooperative teaching and learning process.</p>

The use of augmented reality (AR) in education has changed the landscape of teaching and learning in the 21st century. AR has changed the presentation of learning materials that allows learning activities to be more interactive and rich in multimedia. AR has the potential to increase students’ engagement and motivation in learning. As such, it was incorporated in the design and development of a book for learning Report Writing. This study aims to examine students’ perception of the use of AR in the language classroom, identify the lecturers’ perception of the use of AR, and determine the advantages and disadvantages of the use of AR for the language classroom. The sample comprised 10 students and 7 lecturers from University Teknologi MARA Cawangan Negeri Sembilan. The data were analysed by using descriptive analysis. The findings indicate that the integration of AR in the Report Writing book had more advantages than disadvantages. The findings also suggest that integrating AR in the book had positive impacts not only in learning but also in permitting the production of a portable and environment-friendly book.
