The present study provides the results of a compar-ative analysis of body satisfaction, self-attitude and self-esteem among girls who do not use the services of a psychologist to correct their psychoemotional state, and girls who attend psychological consulta-tions. It was revealed that both groups of respond-ents have a fairly high level of satisfaction with their body and its individual parts, but they differ signifi-cantly in the components of self-attitude and in the results of the self-esteem study. An integral attitude to themselves, self-esteem, autosympathy, expected attitude from others, and self-acceptance of the girls who do not receive psychological counseling are based on satisfaction with their torso, lower body and skin. It was noted that the results of self-esteem in this group correlate with lower body satisfaction at a high level, and with general body satisfaction at a moderate level. In the group of girls who visit a psychologist, integral self-attitude, self-esteem, au-tosympathy, expected attitude from others, and self-acceptance are associated with upper and lower body satisfaction, as well as skin, hair, and height. Self-esteem is determined by the overall body satis-faction, as well as its upper and lower parts, torso, skin, hair and height.

This study aimed to examine the self-esteem of those who did sports in physically disabled individuals by some variables. Based on this aim, the study was designed quantitatively. In this descriptive research, the general survey model that is coherent with the main purpose was used. The study group of the research consisted of 140 individuals aged 18 and over who had physical disabilities and actively engage in sports. Purposeful sampling approaches and easily accessible sampling methods were used in the selection of the study group. The scale form was used to collect research data. The scale form consisted of two parts. In the first part of this form, there was a personal information form containing information about the participants and in the second part, there was the "Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale" developed by Rosenberg (1965) and adapted into Turkish by Çuhadaroğlu (1986). This form was applied to the participants on a voluntary basis, on the internet between 13.05.2020 and 03.06.2020. Necessary explanations were made to the participants while filling the form and they were provided to answer correctly. In this study, the self-esteem of physically disabled athletes was examined according to some variables. The research group consisted of 140 participants; 42 (30.0%) of them were female and 98 (70.0%) of them were male and the number of male participants was approximate twice the number of female participants. It was found that 18 (12.9%) participants were graduated from elementary and secondary schools, 59 (42.1%) from high school, and 63 (45%) from college, and the number of the participants belonging to the group consisted of graduates from high school and college were approximately four times more than the participants from the elementary and secondary school graduate group. It was determined that 9 (13.6%) of the participants had low, 105 (75%) had medium and 16 (11.4%) had a high level of income. It was observed that 83 (59.3%) of the participants were congenitally disabled and 57 (40.7%) of the participants disabled after birth and the number of congenitally disabled participants approximately 1.5 times more than the number of participants with disabilities after birth. It was determined that the number of participants who were national athletes was approximately 2.5 times those who were not. Among the variables examined, it was seen that there was only a statistically positive and low-level significant relationship between the sports age variable and the self-esteem mean score of the participants (r = .147; p < 0.05). In this context, as the age of the participants increased, the self-esteem of the participants also increased. As a result, it was determined that there was a positive correlation between the age of starting sports and self-esteem in physically disabled individuals, and individuals who started sports at an early age had a higher rate than other individuals.

Background: It is known that adolescence is a phase of transformation subject to innumerable influences. Objective: The objective of this study was to identify the level of body satisfaction among male adolescents practicing bodybuilding and perception and value attributed to the use of anabolic steroids (AS). Methods: The sample consisted of 3150 male adolescents aged 15 to 21 years. The adolescents were submitted to a questionnaire with 41 questions containing several elements detected such as: the level of body satisfaction, the bodybuilding practice proposing body changes and the possible use of AS. Results: The main results were attributed to the high level of satisfaction for body image variables from the members of their social group in 1883 (60%, X2 = 26.361; p<0.005), body mass 1552 (50%; X2 = 55.374; p<0.005) and muscle mass 1199 (39%, X2 = 10.405; p <0.005). Additionally, 1243 (39%; X2 = 31.926; p <0.005) adolescents confirm the possibility of use; the preference for faster means to achieve changes in their bodies, even knowing about health risks was 1347 (43%; X2 = 31.926; p<0.005). On the knowledge of the effects to the point of refusing their involvement related to the use of AS with aesthetic objectives 1152 (36%; X2 = 45.758; p<0.005) students affirm that they did not know, however, they would still use it, with statistically significant observed differences. Conclusion: Although it is possible to consider a high level of satisfaction for the variables associated with body image, adolescents consider the use of AS to achieve changes in their bodies by faster means, despite knowing about health risks even without knowledge of the effects related to the use of AS for aesthetic purposes.

Professional identity is the embodiment of life’s meanings and values of the individual. Its fulfillment rests in its basis on the person’s perception of oneself and attitude toward oneself. Even choosing a certain profession and studying it, the students still have a choice of further professional identity. In consideration of the foregoing,the purpose of the work is to study the characteristics of self-perception and meaningful orientations of professionally determined students. Methodological tools of the study were Maslow’s self-actualization scales, a test of meaningful orientations, a questionnaire aimed at identifying professionally determined and not determined students. 96 students took part in the study. The results showed that professionally determined students have a tendency to a fairly high general meaningfulness of life. They feel that they can manage their own lives and have a sufficient level of responsibility. The self-esteem of the professionally determined students is related to the positive perception of their life in each of its periods. In general, professionally determined students have many characteristics similar to professionally not determined students, but they also have specific features. They are manifested in the interconnection between meaningful orientations, self-esteem and self-acceptance of professionally determined and not determined students.

Organizational values determine the behaviour and norms expected in the organization. The more similar the attitude, the way of thinking and the value system among organizational members the stronger the culture is. The characteristics of personality can be well modelled with the concept of self-evaluation. The purpose of this article is to create a theoretical framework that reveals the relationships between self-evaluation dimensions, organizational values and employees’ commitment dimensions. Based on the results, affective commitment is supported by a high level of self-esteem and self-efficacy through the organizational values such as collaboration, trust, affiliation, achievement, autonomy, competition and growth. In contrast, professional commitment is supported by a high level of locus of control and emotional stability, through the organizational values such as routinization, attention to details, formalization, support, communication and consistency. The conclusions of the theoretical model can be used to determine effective motivational strategies for groups and organizations with strong cultures, as the results show that motivational tools used at group level can be successful as well, depending on the self-evaluation profiles.

Self-esteem is an individual's assessment of their own self, self worth, whether it’s positive or negative. The assessment is the result of individual interaction with their environment, the other people recognition and personal experiences. While self-acceptance is a positive attitude towards one's own characteristics, either being satisfied with their strength and recognize their limitations in living life. The purposeof this study was to determine the effect of self-esteem on self-acceptance of late adolescents at the Sonaf Maneka Orphanage, Lasiana Village, Kupang. This study used quantitative approach. This study used total population sampling technique with total were 48 adolescent aged from 15-20 years old. Data collection used self-esteem scale adapted from Resty (2015) and self-acceptance scale develop by researcher based onHurlock’s theory (Noviani, 2016). Hypothesis testing uses a simple linear regression test. The results of the study show that self-esteem have significant positive effect on self-acceptance with a value of p (0.000) <0.05. Therefore, it can be concluded that the self-esteem variable can predict the self-acceptance variable. Effective contribution of self-esteem variable to self-acceptance variable is 33.6%.

In experimental psychology, the problem of non-acceptance of oneself, one’s environment, and the world around is one of the relevant issues. The author notes that the accepted in contemporary society popular opinions associated with self-acceptance often have manipulative or prescriptive nature and are the negative attitudes blocking the person activity and leading to its stagnation. The resolution of the stereotyped image of this phenomenon is possible from the perspective of historical-theoretical analysis of the study of self-acceptance. The paper presents various approaches to the understanding of self-acceptance by foreign and Russian psychologists within such psychology areas as neofreidism, gestalt-psychology, existential, and humanistic psychology. The author considers the changes in the study of self-acceptance, notes that despite different views of classical psychologists on the understanding of this phenomenon, they define self-acceptance as an active process promoting self-improvement and self-actualization of a person. This fact conflicts with the latent meaning of widespread life theses on self-acceptance. The paper emphasizes the possibility to study self-acceptance from the perspective of the subject approach as a phenomenon initiating the activity of a person in organization and regulation of own life activities, promoting further development of a person, its self-actualization. The author considers the controversial characteristics of self-acceptance as a subject characteristic: self-acceptance allows changing from self-understanding to self-improvement, at the same time, the high level of self-acceptance requires a particular level of development of the personal agency. The author notes the paradoxical understanding of the self-acceptance phenomenon largely within the frames of positive self-attitude, which can promote the “Self” image idealism and lead to intrapersonal regress.

Using objectification theory (Fredrickson & Roberts, 1997), this study tested the interaction between self-objectification, appearance evaluation, and self-esteem in predicting body satisfaction and mood states. Participants (N = 93) were physically active female university students. State self-objectification was manipulated by participants wearing tight revealing exercise attire (experimental condition) or baggy exercise clothes (control condition). Significant interactions emerged predicting depression, anger, fatness, and satisfaction with body shape and size. For participants in the self-objectification condition who had low (as opposed to high) appearance evaluation, low self-esteem was associated with high depression, anger, and fatness and low satisfaction with body shape and size. In contrast, for participants with high self-esteem, these mood and body satisfaction states were more favorable irrespective of their levels of appearance evaluation. For female exercisers, self-esteem-enhancing strategies may protect against some of the negative outcomes of self-objectification.

The main objective of this research consists in studying psychosocial aspects of the relationship that is established between the level of the quality of self image and self-esteem in adolescents. Self-esteem play an important role in the self image of teenagers and young people. Teenagers with a high level of self-esteem have clear and stable views about themselves, talk about them in a consistent, positive way. Teenagers with a low self-esteem have the feeling that they do not know too well each other and talk about them in a unreliable and ambiguous way. They are also pretty reserved in initiating social contacts.

The present study to investigate the status of self-esteem and aggression among yoga performer and not performing students. The sample consists of 160 students of male and female students. With age ranging from 15 years to 25 years located at Jalna city. Two-way ANOVA was used for dependent variables of the total sample under study. A 2×2 factorial design will be used to analyzing the data. The Self-esteem Inventory developed by Dr. A.K. Srivastava and Aggression Questionnaires developed and standardized by Dr. G.C. The yoga performer students was found high level of self-esteem than yoga not performing students and the level of aggression was also high found in yoga not performing students than the yoga performer students. Yoga and gender also significant effect on aggression.

This study extended the examination of the eating disorders continuum to the population of female athletes. Participants (215 collegiate gymnasts) were classified as normal/nondisordered eaters, exercisers, bingers, dieter/restricters, subthreshold bulimics, or bulimics and were then compared on several personality and attitudinal measures. Results revealed that (a) over 60% of the gymnasts met the criteria for one of the intermediate disordered eating categories, (b) only 22% reported eating behaviors that could be classified as normal or nondisordered, and (c) higher levels of disordered eating disturbance, particularly bulimia nervosa, were associated with a desire to weigh less, lower body satisfaction, lower self-esteem, and greater endorsement of sociocultural values regarding women's attractiveness. The findings provide partial support for the eating continuum in female athletes, and suggest that disordered eating may be the normative behavior in this population. Implications for interventions as well as directions for future research are provided.
