The Poisson regression analysis is one of the regression methods used for count data and has the assumption of equidispersion. However, it is the overdispersion and then underestimate standard errors will be obtained. If the data are overdispersed and more data is zero then ZIP (Zero Inflated Regression) regression is used. ZIP regression model is more appropriate to be used to analyze the amount of Senior High School/Madrasah Aliyah who do not pass the exam with five independent variables, because a lot of data failure is zero. In this paper, data are overdispersed on Poisson regression, so ZIP regression are used. ZIP regression models obtained are only influenced by the proportion of Senior High School/Madrasah Aliyah classroom were damaged (X3), is and .

The performance of teachers is an important factor that must be considered in efforts to improve the quality of education. Teacher’s performance is affected by many factors. Factors that affect the performance of teachers are principals’ managerial leadership and compensation. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of principals’ managerial leadership and compensation to the performance of physical science teachers in senior high schools in the district Baguala Ambon city. This type of research is quantitative design. The instrument was used questionnaire. The variables studied were the principal managerial leadership (X1), compensation (X2) as independent variables and performance of science physics teachers (Y) as dependent variable. Prior to use in the true research, the validity and reliability of these instrument was done. To reveal relationships between variables, correlation analysis was performed, while to know the effect of independent variables on the dependent variable regression analysis also performed. Analysis of the validity, reliability, correlation and regression analysis was performed using SPSS program version of 18.0 for windows. The results showed that between principal managerial leadership and teacher performance there is a very high correlation. Between compensation with the performance have high correlation and the combination of principals’ managerial leadership and compensation with the performance there is a very high correlation. Regression analysis showed that the independent variables principals managerial leadership and compensation, or a combination of both contribute to or affect the performance of physical science teacher at senior high school in the district Baguala.

Abstract Background: This study aimed to assess caries prevalence and experience among 11-14 years schoolchildren, analyze demographic, socioeconomic, personal and professional dental care in relation to untreated carious lesions, and evaluates the effect of decayed teeth on early adolescents’ oral health-related quality of life (OHRQoL). Methods: A cross-sectional analytical investigation conducted on 1020 preparatory schoolchildren selected on the basis of a multistage sampling technique. Caries status for the participants detected via recording their caries experience and untreated cavities using DMFT and DT indices. OHRQoL was determined using a validated Arabic CPQ11-14 short-form questionnaire. Statistical methods for descriptive analysis chi-square test, Independent-Samples T-Test and one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA) were used. Multilevel Poisson regression analysis through a hierarchical approach was used to detect the influence of independent variables on DT scores. To declare the association between independent variables and QoL, a step-by-step, multivariate regression analysis was conducted. Results: The average scores of DMFT and DT in this study were 2.97±1.29 and 1.66±1.24. Poisson regression analysis demonstrates that school children with untreated carious lesions are 2.51 times have poor OHRQoL than their peers without caries. Untreated cavities affected mainly by mother education, school type, family income, and regular dental appointments. Children with DMFT ≤ 3) or DT =0 recorded a statistically significant lower CPQ11-14 average scores (p ˂ 0.01) and (p ˂ 0.0001) respectively. Conclusions: Untreated carious cavities and caries experience were associated with lower socioeconomic, maternal education and tooth brushing, untreated carious cavities have a significant negative impact on schoolchildren’s QoL.

Purpose This paper aims to quantify the impact of craft worker shortage on construction project safety performance. Design/methodology/approach A database of 50 North American construction projects completed between 2001 and 2014 was compiled by taking information from a research project survey and the Construction Industry Institute Benchmarking and Metrics Database. The t-test and Mann-Whitney test were used to determine whether there was a significant difference in construction project safety performance on projects with craft worker recruiting difficulty. Poisson regression analysis was then used to examine the relationship between craft worker recruiting difficulty and Occupational Safety and Health Administration Total Number of Recordable Incident Cases per 200,000 Actual Direct Work Hours (TRIR) on construction projects. Findings The result showed that the TRIR distribution of a group of projects that reported craft worker recruiting difficulty tended to be higher than the TRIR distribution of a group of projects with no craft worker recruiting difficulty (p-value = 0.004). Moreover, the average TRIR of the projects that reported craft worker recruiting difficulty was more than two times the average TRIR of projects that experienced no craft recruiting difficulty (p-value = 0.035). Furthermore, the Poisson regression analysis demonstrated that there was a positive exponential relationship between craft worker recruiting difficulty and TRIR in construction projects (p-value = 0.004). Research limitations/implications The projects used to construct the database are heavily weighted towards industrial construction. Practical implications There have been significant long-term gains in construction safety within the USA. However, if recent craft shortages continue, the quantitative analyses presented herein indicate a strong possibility that more safety incidents will occur unless the shortages are reversed. Innovative construction means and methods should be developed and adopted to work in a safe manner with a less qualified workforce. Originality/value The Poisson regression model is the first model that quantifiably links project craft worker availability to construction project safety performance.
