This research aimed to find out the factors which affected UKM/SME (small and medium sized enterprises) in adopting Facebook Ads. The factors utilized adoption model which has been developed in previous research by inserting Opportunity and Ability factors as a moderating effect between the influence of intention to use facebook ads toward the adoption of facebook ads. The background of this study was the need for the demand for the use of information technology, especially social networking in SME communication with consumers. This was intended to make SMEs survive in current technological developments. The model used in this research consisted of ten variables with nine hypotheses. Based on a survey of 100 SMEs in Indonesia, it was found that social image and perceived usefulness had a positive influence on intention to use Facebook Ads. However, there was no moderation effect from the Opportunity and Ability variable groups toward the relationship between Intention to use Facebook ads to Facebook Ads Adoption.

The purpose of this research paper is to investigate the determinates of Korean students in China to use e-government services. A total of 400 structured research questionnaire instruments was designed and administered to potential respondents of which 93.75% responded. The Technology Acceptance Mode (TAM) was used as a theoretical framework for this study. The data gathered was analyzed with SPSS version 20. The results show that all the predictors (Perceived Usefulness, Perceived Ease of Use, Perceived Service Quality, and Citizen Trust) investigated are significant positive determiners of Korean students' intention to adopt and use e-government services. The results further indicated that Citizen Trust positively and significantly moderated the positive relationship between perceived ease of use, perceived service quality and intention to use e-government services but failed to show any positive moderation effect on perceived usefulness and intention to use e-government services. The implications of these findings are further discussed.

Purpose Global digital payment transactions increase continuously. Due to the inconsistencies that occurred across the research findings, past researchers have called for further investigation to verify and empirically test the mobile payment acceptance model. The purpose of this paper is to develop an integrative model that is derived from the multiple technology acceptance models (TAM)’s a theoretical framework and past literature to understand how consumers decided to adopt mobile payment. By simultaneously testing mechanisms, namely, ease of use, usefulness and risk, the current study will be able to advance scholarly knowledge of the underlying consumer’s attitude and behavior that link social influence to intention to use. Design/methodology/approach A total of 370 valid responses were collected using self-administered questionnaires distributed via online platforms, a representative for Thai consumers. An ordinary least square regression and bootstrap analyzes were conducted through PROCESS Macro to analyze the moderated serial-multiple mediation model in the consecutive inducing of social influence, perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness and perceived risk toward the consumer’s intention to use mobile payment. Findings Within the context of consumers evaluating a mobile payment, statistics significant were found for the hypothesized direct and indirect effects of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness on an intention to use. The results showed that Thai consumers’ intention to use mobile payment was significantly affected by their attitudes in terms of usefulness and the less complication in using the applications. It is confirmed that social influence indirectly affects intention to use via the increase of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness. The study also found a significant interaction between perceived risk and perceived usefulness toward intention to use. Practical implications It is recommended to service providers to continue improving the user-friendliness, navigation, integrity and furnish the system with more value-added activities within the mobile payment application. It is also essential for the company to deliver tutorials and clear and easy-to-follow instructions to customers. At the same time, the marketer should develop marketing strategies to promote the usefulness and simplicity of using the applications to the consumers. When consumers experienced the easiness and usefulness of the applications, these could overcome the resistance feeling to use due to the concern on any potential risk. Originality/value The study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on consumer usage behavior and TAM by integrating all important variables and developed a parsimony framework to explain consumers’ usage adoption on mobile payment. Moreover, the current study was the very first that proposed and tested a serial of multiple mediations of perceived ease of use and perceived usefulness, moderated by perceived risk, in the relationship between social influence and consumers’ intention to use mobile payment and discovered a moderating role of perceived risk toward the relationship between perceived usefulness and mobile payment usage intention.

This study examined the moderating effect of electronic word of mouth (eWOM) communications on the relationship between the perceived usefulness (PU) and perceived ease of use (PEOU) of mobile government services and the intention to use mobile government services. The Technology Acceptance Model was used as the theoretical framework and the data analysis was done with SPSS. The results have shown that there was a significant moderating impact of eWOM on both the relationship between PU and PEOU and the intention to use mobile government services. In addition, perceived usefulness and perceived ease of use of mobile government service were significant in determining the intention to use mobile government services. Also, PEOU was found to be a determinant of the PU of mobile government services. The implications of these findings are discussed.

This article predicts the adoption of e-government websites and services by focusing on gamification and enjoyment factors. The sample uses ranked use of points and coupons as the most suitable schemes, while excluding the use of quests and puzzles. In predicting the intention to use e-government, five constructs were used: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, enjoyment and innovation, positive influence on government image and negative influence of government images. Results indicated a significant role for enjoyment and innovation based on the gamification context. The influence on government image (positive and negative) were not significant in predicting the intention to use e-government. The coefficient of determination of the regression model was 0.655, which explains 65.5% of the variance in ITU.

AbstractWith the rapid development of mobile internet and the continuous replacement of new smart phones, the advancement of we-media age, and advent of the era of 4G, reading revolution has opened. This paper is to study which factors affect users’ continuance intention. We discussed the relationship between experience involvement, subjective norms, and the dimensions of perceived value as well as users’ continuance intention. The results show that the model which this paper put forward could effectively explain the hypothesizes, and this paper mainly draws the following conclusions: subjective norm significantly affect experience involvement; on one hand, experience involvement significantly and directly affect users’ continuance intention, and on the other hand, indirectly affect users’ continuance intention by significantly affect the users’ perceived usefulness, perceived pleasure and perceived cost; experience involvement can’t significantly affect users’ perceived image enhancement. We suggest the mobile reading providers pay more attention to the free experience process, increasing its convenience, enriching its content and rationalizing its cost. And they should also optimize the mobile reading to improve users’ perceived image enhancement. Mobile reading providers should let users more involved to achieve value co-creation.

Social media applications have revolutionized doing business and attracted the attention of practitioners, scholars, and policymakers. Social media applications offer business owners plenty of benefits as it enables businesses to get exposed, gain competitive advantage, and communicate with customers. However, limited studies have considered measuring the adoption of social media marketing by micro-businesses, such as home-based businesses. This research examines social media adoption by home-based companies in Saudi Arabia using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A self-administered online questionnaire is utilized to collect data. A total of 188 home-based business owners completed the questionnaires. Structural equation modeling using SPSS, Amos is utilized for data analysis. The findings show that perceived usefulness and social influence positively impact the Intention to use social media marketing. Ease of use positively influences perceived usefulness. Further, the Intention to use has a subsequent impact on user behavior. The study has implications for policy, decision-makers, and the General authority of SMEs (Monsha’at) in Saudi Arabia. The research results show that social influence is a significant positive predictor of social media marketing usage. Besides, the Intention to use social media marketing has a statistically positive impact on user behavior. The study validates the TAM model in a rarely studied context due to its invisible nature. The authors also describe a profile of HBBs owners in Saudi Arabia by explaining their demographic and behavioral characteristics regarding owners’ gender, age and education, and prior experience. This paper contributes original empirical evidence on the adoption of social media marketing by the HBBs in Saudi Arabia. Given the lack of previous studies on this micro-business sector in general and Saudi Arabia, these findings are essential. The present study demonstrates several managerial implications. First of all, policymakers should consider this micro-business sector when developing policies and strategies to provide support and support. The government should establish an electronic platform that connects all business owners.

PurposeThe purpose of this paper is to investigate consumers’ acceptance and use of sports and fitness wearable devices based on technology readiness (TR). In addition, the technology readiness and acceptance model (TRAM) will be used to investigate consumers’ intention to use sports wearable devices (for simplicity, sports wearable devices will be simplified to the term “sports wearables”).Design/methodology/approachConvenience sampling was conducted from Korean consumers (n=247). Data were analyzed by partial least squares–structural equation modeling using SmartPLS 3.0.FindingsThe results found that positive TR has a positive influence on perceived ease of use (PEOU) and perceived usefulness (PU), and negative TR had a negative influence on PEOU and PU. PEOU had a positive influence on perceived usefulness (PU). Both PEOU and PU led to intention to use sports wearable devices. Also, the multi-group analysis found a positive correlation between TR and PEOU for especially male users.Originality/valueThe findings of this study provide a better understanding of consumers’ behavioral intent to use sports wearables. Particularly, it also provides evidence that the TRAM is an appropriate framework for predicting users’ intention to use sports wearables. This study also stresses the important role of TR in consumers’ psychological processes leading up to the actual use of novel sports wearables.
