Financial reports that are always slow and inaccurate have a bad domino effect for the business, from starting prospective buyers to withdraw due to taking too long to get answers to inquiries, wrong selling prices due to incorrect recording costs, late incoming money due to late billing, and other internal operational constraints. Companies must immediately redesign the business processes, so they can operate more efficiently and increase productivity. Starting with setting clear objectives for the principles of change, followed by setting the intended Business Process Blueprint, and followed by a series of activities to identify the current process (As-Is) and define process objectives (To-Be), a new Business Process Design is obtained. reflects the flow of business processes that integrate all functions of the company. The integration of business processes has succeeded in making the process simpler with a focus on the flow of cash-in and cash-out processes as well as internal management which can be directly seen on the General Ledger to make it easier to make timely financial reports and correct costing costs and other important business decisions. Keywords: Design Process, Manufacturing Process Flow, ERP.

This paper reports on a quasi-experimental field study in which business process redesign groups in four different US organizations used two different business process representation types. One of the representation types emphasized an activity flow (or workflow) view of business processes, which appears to currently be the most prevalent in actual operational-level business process redesign projects; the other emphasized a communication flow view. The study suggests that, contrary to assumptions likely underlying most of the current business process redesign practice, communication flow-oriented representations of business processes are perceived by those involved in their redesign as significantly more useful in the following aspects than activity flow-oriented representations: identification of opportunities for process improvement, application of process redesign guidelines, visualization of process changes, and development of generic information technology solutions to implement new business processes. Important implications for managers and researchers stemming from these results are discussed.

Every day companies deal with internal problems in order to manage human resources during the execution of business processes. The ability to quickly identify and rapidly apply effective business practices to recurring problems becomes crucial in order to improve the efficiency of the organization. To seize the opportunity of adapting their business practices to emerging organizational forms (Extended Enterprise, Virtual Enterprise) and to reuse the expertise of knowledge workers – who are central to an organization's success – companies are required to face several challenges. This paper presents a set of business patterns useful in resolving emerging organizational issues to support the activities of knowledge workers, increase their productivity and their ability to find the information they need, and enable collaboration with colleagues without changing their habits. Also it describes a real case study and a software system that allows companies to introduce these business patterns in the workplace, adopting an Enterprise 2.0 approach.

While digital transformation is one of the important business decisions, more specifically, the pandemic and the increase in time spent at home have created a substantial growth opportunity for digital broadcast service providers. In this regard, the fact that an already growing market has increased its growth momentum with the effect of the pandemic has made the digital transformation of traditional TV media inevitable. In this study, digital broadcasting sector in Turkey has been examined in the context of strategic marketing management. In this way, by conducting the situation and competition analysis, suggestions were made regarding marketing strategies for Turkish digital platforms that have just entered the market.

Major assets such as buildings, infrastructure and defence systems are long term investments that require many outsourced sustainment activities to maintain satisfactory performances over their service life. When multiplied by the number of years that the sustainment is planned to be undertaken, the contracting cost is high. Many business processes are established to govern these asset sustainment activities and eventually become the source of inefficiency. This paper analyses the performance of these processes using a performance driven approach. Combined with input data of requests for engineering change in similar assets, this paper evaluates a new business process redesigned from an existing process to achieve significant savings in total cost of ownership as well as improving other non-financial performance indicators.

PurposeProcess redesign refers to the intentional change of business processes. While process redesign methods provide structure to redesign projects, they provide limited support during the actual creation of to-be processes. More specifically, existing approaches hardly develop an ontological perspective on what can be changed from a process design point of view, and they provide limited procedural guidance on how to derive possible process design alternatives. This paper aims to provide structured guidance during the to-be process creation.Design/methodology/approachUsing design space exploration as a theoretical lens, the authors develop a conceptual model of the design space for business processes, which facilitates the systematic exploration of design alternatives along different dimensions. The authors utilized an established method for taxonomy development for constructing the conceptual model. First, the authors derived design dimensions for business processes and underlying characteristics through a literature review. Second, the authors conducted semi-structured interviews with professional process experts. Third, the authors evaluated their artifact through three real-world applications.FindingsThe authors identified 19 business process design dimensions that are grouped into different layers and specified by underlying characteristics. Guiding questions and illustrative real-world examples help to deploy these design dimensions in practice. Taken together, the design dimensions form the “Business Process Design Space” (BPD-Space).Research limitations/implicationsPractitioners can use the BPD-Space to explore, question and rethink business processes in various respects.Originality/valueThe BPD-Space complements existing approaches by explicating process design dimensions. It abstracts from specific process flows and representations of processes and supports an unconstrained exploration of various alternative process designs.

Though Web services offer unique opportunities for the design of new business processes, the assessment of the potential impact of Web services is often reduced to technical aspects. This paper proposes a four-phase methodology which facilitates the evaluation of the potential use of Web services in e-business systems both from a technical and from a strategic viewpoint. It is based on business process models, which are used to frame the adoption of Web services and to assess their impact on existing business processes. The application of this methodology is described using a procurement scenario.

Project repositories are a central asset in software development, as they preserve the knowledge gathered in past development activities. Locating relevant information in a vast project repository is problematic, because it requires manually tagging projects with accurate metadata, an activity which is time consuming and prone to errors and omissions. Just like any other artifact or web service, business processes can be stored in repositories to be shared and used by third parties, e.g., as building blocks for constructing new business processes. The success of such a paradigm depends partly on the availability of effective search tools to locate business processes that are relevant to the user purposes. A handful of researchers have investigated the problem of business process discovery using as input syntactical and structural information that describes business processes. This work explores an additional source of information encoded in the form of annotations that semantically describe business processes. Business processes can be semantically described using the so called abstract business processes. These are designated by concepts from an ontology which additionally captures their relationships. This ontology can be built in an automatic fashion from a collection of (concrete) business processes, and this work illustrates how it can be refined by domain experts and used in the discovery of business processes, with the purpose of reuse and increase in design productivity.

This paper discusses the business process modeling at Donat Madu Cihanjuang, the purpose of this research is to model the business process using BPMN to improve in terms of service for consumers, starting from literature study and data collection through interview. Further modeling and simulation of current business processes using BPMN, problem analysis, modeling and simulation of proposed business processes and comparison of results. The method used is Business Process Improvement (BPI) approach. The results obtained are proposed modeling new business processes in improving services to customers (consumers).

Current business process modeling methodologies offer little guidance regarding how to discover and maintain business process models aligned with their actual execution. The authors argue that business processes should emerge and evolve collaboratively within an organization. Considering this limitation, this paper presents an overview of some Web-based tools and explores their main functionalities. This study highlights the need of a bi-directional form of communication, between operational and process actors. The paper contributes with a new business process and practice authoring tool based on authors' vision for business process improvement.

The design, modeling, optimization, reengineering, and coupling of business processes in e-commerce environment have gradually become a hot research topic. Business processes must be strictly described and validated by formal methods to ensure their reliability and efficiency. This paper systematically studies the introduction of new business process characteristics into behavioral temporal logic and extend TLA to obtain a new logic system PTLA, which enriches the theoretical system of formal method of business process under the environment of e-commerce. The paper also discusses Petri nets and show how to convert Petri nets into TLA. A parallel Petri net model was built to represent the dynamic, concurrency and flexibility, and cross-organizational e-commerce business process. Finally, the use of simulation to extend the business process execution language BPEL to TLA.
