Abstract ALUMINUM 6463 is an aluminum-magnesium-silicon alloy used widely for extrusions. It can be hardened and strengthened by a precipitation-hardening heat treatment. Abstract AA 6351 wrought alloy contains silicon and magnesium in such amounts that Mg2Si is present as the precipitation hardening constituent with proper heat treatment.
