Abstract CARPENTER 15Cr-5Ni offers high strength and excellent corrosion resistance. Similar to Carpenter Custom 630 (17Cr-4Ni) in composition and properties, Carpenter 15Cr-5Ni is chemically balanced to eliminate all but trace amounts of delta ferrite, thus providing superior transverse toughness and ductility plus a higher degree of forgeability. Its wide range of uses include valve parts, engine parts and aircraft components; it is especially useful where high transverse strength and toughness are required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, tensile properties, and shear strength as well as fracture toughness. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-346. Producer or source: Carpenter.
