Abstract Type 302 (UNS S 30200) stainless steel is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel, nonhardenable by thermal treatments. It may be cold worked to high tensile strengths with slightly lower ductility than type 301. Its corrosion resistance is superior to that of type 301. Type 302 is essentially nonmagnetic in the annealed condition and becomes slightly magnetic when cold worked. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on high temperature performance and corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, joining, and surface treatment. Filing Code: SS-779. Abstract Type 309 (UNS S30900) is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel widely used for elevated-temperature services. It has a good combination of oxidation resistance and corrosion-resisting properties. The alloy is essentially nonmagnetic when annealed and become slightly magnetic when cold worked. It is intended primarily for high-temperature applications at 816 deg C (1500 deg F) or higher where resistance to oxidation and/or corrosion is required. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, and tensile properties as well as creep. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, and joining. Filing Code: SS-896. Producer or source: J & L Specialty Steel Inc.

Abstract CARPENTER STAINLESS TYPE 405 is a 12% chromium stainless steel that does not harden appreciably. It was designed to allow its use in the as-welded condition. It is particularly desirable for welded applications which require finish machining. It has moderate tensile strength (70,000 psi) in the fully annealed condition and resists corrosion in mild environments. It is used for parts and structures that cannot be annealed after welding. This datasheet provides information on composition, physical properties, hardness, elasticity, and tensile properties. It also includes information on corrosion resistance as well as forming, heat treating, machining, and joining. Filing Code: SS-395. Producer or source: Carpenter.
