The conducted research was aimed at determination of the impact produced by feeding protein and mineral feed additive produced out of the primary processing aquatic organisms wastes: sea mussels, red algae as well as of the sea water upon the productivity and non-specific resistance of broiler chickens raised in conditions of the normative and non-normative characteristics of the broiler house microclimate. The feed additive was applied to 20–42 day broiler chickens of “Ross 308” cross. The studied broilers were clinically healthy. Throughout the entire experiment, a series of the sanitary and hygienic microclimate parameters were determined, such as temperature, humidity, rate of changes as well as bacterial contamination of air, content of ammonia and carbon dioxide in air, and illumination of the broiler house. The house temperature was measured every day with the aid of a common spirit-in glass thermometer. Air humidity was established with the aid of an August psychrometer, air draft speed, harmful gas concentrations and illumination indicators were measured in compliance with the generally accepted methods. Bacterial contamination was determined with the use of the method of microorganism precipitation on a solid breeding ground placed in Petri dishes followed by a count of the bacterial colonies per 1 m3. The blood analysis included determination of haemoglobin, erythrocytes and leukocytes. In the blood serum, the lysozyme activity (LABS) and bactericidal activity (BABS) were determined. It was established that enriching the basic ration with the protein and mineral additive in quantity of 7 % in addition to the feed mass under conditions of the normative microclimate produced a positive effect on the growth intensity, livability and non-specific resistance indices of the broiler chickens. Thus, the live weight of broilers was reliably greater by 4.7 % and the livability equalled 100 %. The haemoglobin content was reliably greater by 7.6 %, erythrocytes – by 11.5 %, BABS – by 34.5 % and LABS – by 35.9 % as compared with the control group of broiler chickens. At the same time, when the studied feed additive was fed to broiler chickens kept in the microclimate conditions that did not meet the normative requirements, the reliable difference to the control indices was not established. Hence, the research results have proved that application of the protein and mineral feed additive is effective under the optimal microclimate conditions. High figures of livability and growth intensity of broiler chickens are based on a high resistance which is being formed provided the optimal microclimate and application of feed additives have been provided.

The aim of the study was to determine the effect of supplementing broiler chickens’ diets with halloysite on daily body weight gain (BWG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), daily water consumption (DWC), and some broiler house hygiene parameters. The trial was conducted on 18,000 broiler chickens divided into two groups throughout the 42-day (D) rearing period. The birds were fed complete diets without (group C) or with halloysite addition (1%, group E) from D8 of rearing. No difference in the mortality rate was observed between groups C and E. Birds from group E had a tendency (0.05 < p < 0.10) towards a higher body weight at D32 and D42, a higher BWG, and a lower FCR compared to group C during the entire rearing period. Average DWC differed only in the finisher period, with a tendency towards lower overall DWC in group E. The concentration of ammonia in the air from D21 to D35 was increased more than 5-fold in group C but only 1.5-fold in group E. In conclusion, the use of halloysite as a feed additive in the diet of broiler chickens resulted in a reduction in feed consumption per unit of BWG and higher utilisation of crude protein, which led to improved environmental conditions.

Проаналізовано бактеріальну контамінацію умовно-патогенними та патогенними мікроорганізмамипродуктів забою курчат-бройлерів (білі і червонім’язи, серце, печінка, м’язова частина шлунку) в разізбагачення раціону наномікроелементною кормовоюдобавкою (НМКД) «Мікростимулін» протягом чоти-рьох діб зберігання за температури 0–4 оС. Встанов-лено, що найменший рівень МАФАнМ, БГКП, бакте-рій роду Proteus реєструвався в 3-й дослідній групі,курчатам-бройлерам якої задавали з водою 20 см3/дм3НМКД «Мікростимулін» у всіх досліджуваних продук-тах забою. Найбільший рівень МАФАнМ, БГКП, бак-терій роду Proteus реєструвався в контрольній групі,курчатам-бройлерам якої не задавали НМКД «Мікро-стимулін» з водою. Доведено залежність між дозоюНМКД «Мікростимулін» і кількістю мікроорганізміву продуктах забою птиці. The bacterial contamination of broiler chicken slaughter products (white and red muscles, heart, liver, muscular stomach) by conditionally pathogenic and pathogenic microorganisms when the ration of the chickens was enriched by nanomicroelement feed additive (NMFA) «Microstimulin» for four days of storage at 0–4 ºC has been analyzed. It has been found out that the lowest level of MAFAnM, BGIR, bacteria Proteus in all slaughter products under investigation was registered in the 3rd experimental group the broiler chickens of which were given 20 cm³/dm³ NMFA «Microstimulin» with water. The highest level of MAFAnM, BGIR, bacteria Proteus was registered in the control group the broiler chickens which were not given NMFA «Microstimulin» with water. The dependence between the dose of NMFA «Microstimulin» and the number of microorganisms in the products of slaughtering has been proved.

The European Standard (EN) and International Organization for Standardization (ISO) standard 30024 describes a harmonized method for the determination of phytase activity and is fit-for-purpose for official control of a group of phytase products. However, it is not suitable for the determination of the phytase activity of a new feed additive encoded as 4a16 in the EU Register of Feed Additives, to which a slightly different phytase activity definition has been attributed. Objective: To establish a robust conversion factor to support official control laboratories that apply the EN ISO method when monitoring feed products containing 4a16. Methods: The phytase activity of test materials was determined by the participants using the EN ISO and/or the “applicant” methods. Results: Robust relative SDs for repeatability and for reproducibility of the methods applied for the determination of the phytase activity in the materials containing the 4a16 feed additive ranged from 2.6 to 22% (EN ISO method) and from 2.4 to 39% (applicant method). Conclusions: The data obtained confirmed the performance characteristics published for other phytase-based feeds in the related standard methods. These results allowed us to estimate a factor of 2.68 to convert phytase activities measured with the EN ISO method into the enzyme activity measured with the applicant method. Highlights: The obtained conversion factor will allow EU official laboratories to screen feed samples supplemented with the 4a16 phytase by applying EN ISO Standard 30024.

Abstract Over recent years, the range of biologically active substances aimed at the productivity increase, animals preservation, feed use efficiency, product quality improvement and product safety has been significantly expanded. In this regard, the study of the effectiveness of hepatoprotective farm-produced feed additives in the diets of broiler chickens is of particular interest to science and practice. The broiler chickens pectoral muscles of the control group contained 68–0.08% of water, 32–0.06% of dry matter, 20.45–0.08% of protein, and 1.62–0.09% fat. In a comparative analysis of the obtained data, it may be concluded that the use of the feed additive Hepatron 85% as a hepatoprotector improves the detoxification ability of the liver and promotes the regeneration of the liver cells. Betaine as a lipotropic agent contributes to the fat oxidation, enhances appetite, and adds muscle mass. When determining the chemical composition of the muscles of the leg, thigh, body, wings and neck, it was established that the broiler chickens of the experimental group contained 70–0.07% of water, 30–0.05% of dry matter, 19.7±0.08% of protein and 2.11±0.09% of fat. Using the feed with the additive Hepatron 85% causes a 0.5% increase in protein and 0.18% increase in fat compared to the meat of the broiler chickens on general feed. Thus, the inclusion of the feed additive Hepatron 85% in the ration of broiler chickens instead of 50% of methionine and choline contributes to an increase in average daily gains and meat quality improvement in a number of indicators.

The paper presents the study on an impact of feed additives Peak anti-stress and SPAO (SPAO-complex) with different lithium content on meat productivity and meat quality of broiler chickens. The feed additives exert a pronounced metabolic effect, have adaptogen properties and allow forming a mechanism that facilitates compensation of the expenditure of the body, which significantly increases upon stress development. It was established that the average daily gain of the broiler chickens increased by 1.8% and 4.3% on the background of using SPAO-complex and Peak anti-stress, respectively, compared to the broiler chickens that did not receive the feed additives in the daily diet. It was shown that addition of feed additives with lithium into a diet led to an improvement of the indices of broiler meat productivity and meat quality: a level of yield of the carcasses of the 1st category increased up to 56.2–79.1%, high organoleptic indices of meat were ensured, the protein content in white and red chicken meat increased and functional-technological properties of minced meat improved. The use of feed additives ensured profitability of industrial poultry production; the highest indices of profitability were established upon introduction of the feed additive Peak anti-stress into a diet — up to 8.67 rubles per each ruble of expenses. The obtained results of the study should be taken into consideration in the technological processes when raising broiler chickens.

Scientific publications describe the positive effect of feed additives and pharmacological complexes on metabolic processes in the body of broiler chickens, in particular, on the protein composition of the blood, meat productivity and protein accumulation in meat. The Peak-Antistress feed additive developed at the Department of Morphology, Physiology and Pharmacology of the South Ural State Agrarian University allows to reduce the technological load on the poultry body by stimulating the general metabolism and complex antioxidant action. Experiments on the use of the feed additive Peak-Antistress were carried out on broiler chickens of the final hybrid of the Arbor Acres cross in an industrial-type poultry farm with floor technology. The poultry was divided into three groups of 6,000 chickens each and kept in one workshop in separate sections. The control group received the main diet, the 1st experimental group received the main diet and feed additive at a dose of 1269 g / t of feed 5 days before slaughter, the 2nd experimental group received the main diet and feed additive at a dose of 1693 g / t of feed 5 days before slaughter. Slaughter of broiler chickens was carried out according to the technological instructions of the enterprise on the 38th day. Against the background of the use of the feed additive in the experimental groups of broiler chickens, stimulation of protein metabolism was observed, as evidenced by an increase in total protein in the blood by 7.9–20.1%, an increase in the level of protein in white meat by 0.1–0.3%, and a tendency to an increase in amino acids in white meat protein by 0.2–12.3%.

Abstract Phytogenies have been widely used as alternative feed additives to replace antibiotics in animal production. The present study aims to evaluate inclusion of S. cumini extract as feed additives on performance and haematological parameters of commercial broiler chickens. A total of 100-day-old commercial chickens (mixed sex) were randomly allocated to four treatments with five replicates. Each treatment was administrated different level of S. cumini extract in the drinking water (P0=control, P1=0.25 g/l drinking water, P2=0.50 g/l drinking water and P3=1.0 g/l drinking water). Commercial diet was provided during experiment based on nutrition requirement for starter and grower. Water and feed were given ad libitum. Data were collected to measure broiler performances and haematological parameters. One way ANOVA was applied in this study and significantly different among treatments were stated (P≥0.05). The results indicated that inclusion of S.cumini extract as feed additives in drinking water did not significantly affected (P>0.05) on animal performances and haematological parameters of commercial broiler chickens. Therefore, it concluded that S.cumini extract can be applied as alternative feed additive due to no negative effects of the S.cumini iextract on performances and haematological parameters.

The article presents a literature review on the need to balance feed on L-arginine content, its characteristics, ways to supplement the diet of animals and poultry, as well as modern methods for quantitative determination of L-arginine in food, pharmaceuticals, etc. In the section «Materials and methods» the characteristic of the developed test technique, parameters of carrying out research, calibration characteristics with application of a standard sample of L-arginine and carrying out tests of amino acid content in a feed additive by means of system of capillary electrophoresis «Kapel-105M» are given. A description of the validation characteristics performed in the process of validation of the method is given. As a result of the conducted researches the technique of definition of the content of L-arginine in feed additives by means of a method of capillary electrophoresis is developed. The test procedure is based on the dissolution of the feed additive sample, further separation and quantification of the free form of L-arginine, its identification by individual absorption at a wavelength of 200 nm, temperature in the working capillary 30 ºC, voltage 25 kV and conductive electrolyte. The results of validation of this technique by the following characteristics are presented: repeatability, reproducibility, trueness, linearity, limit of quantification, budget uncertainty. The values of trueness, repeatability, reproducibility and uncertainty of the method (with a confidence level of (P) 0.95) does not exceed 5.0 %, the hypothesis of Linearity is acceptable, calculated on the basis of standard deviation (SD) limit of quantification for determining the content of arginine are satisfactory. The results allow us to conclude that the method of capillary electrophoresis using the device «Kapel-105M» is quite accurate and reliable in the case of studies of feed additives L-arginine with a content of the main substance of at least 98,0 %.

This article presents the results of a study on testing a promising feed supplement based on a strain of Lactobacillus plantarum, with a high antagonistic activity for campylobacter. Probiotics now refers to live microbial feed additives that improve the health and productivity of farm animals. Probiotics can improve the growth rate of broiler chickens and control or prevent intestinal diseases, including salmonellosis, necrotic enteritis, and coccidiosis Scientific and industrial experience was carried out on broilers of the Cobb XNUMX cross country from daily to XNUMX days of age. As a result of research conducted by the scientific group, it was shown that feeding broiler chickens with a probiotic feed additive based on Lactobacillus plantarum helps to increase their productivity during the entire growing cycle and have a beneficial effect on the health status of farm birds.
