Water pollution can not only be measured only by chemical and physical parameters, Plankton have properties that are always moving so that they can be used as indicators of water pollution. Plankton play an important role in influencing the primary productivity of river waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the diversity and presence of plankton to the quality of the Batanghari River. The study was conducted in February 2018 in Jambi City. Primary data taken in the form of concentrations of physical and chemical parameters include turbidity, pH, TDS, BOD, COD, DO, Phosphate, Nitrate, Nitrite, Ammonia, Lead, Chloride, Sulfate and the amount of plankton abundance (ind / L) on the Batanghari River. The time of sampling was in the morning and evening on the same day. The results showed that the relationship between the existence of plankton and the quality of the Batanghari River showed the condition of the Batanghari River in Jambi City was in phase a - Mesosaprobic (heavy pollutant level). Parameters of pH, COD, Phosphate, Nitrite, Lead and Chloride are moderately correlated to phytoplankton, while TDS, BOD, DO, Nitrate and Ammonia are weakly correlated with phytoplankton. And for temperature parameters it is strongly correlated with phytoplankton. For correlation to zooplankton, parameters of pH, TDS, BOD, COD, COD, DO, Phosphate, Nitrate, Nitrite, Lead, chloride are very weakly correlated while ammonia and turbidity correlate moderately to zooplankton.

The article aims to examine the relations between expenditure on alcoholic beverages and tobacco and other consumer expenditure of households in 27 European countries within 2000—2010. The choice of countries and time series was determined by the availability and completeness of Eurostat data. The years were analysed collectively not separately, which is a novelty presented in this paper. Such an approach was possible due the transformation of primary data into multivariate functional ones, and then the construction of correlations and canonical variables for transformed data. The study shows that expenditure on alcoholic beverages and tobacco is strongly correlated with other consumption expenditure (the canonical correlation coefficient between the two first functional canonical variables is 0.99). The expenditure on alcoholic beverages and tobacco has almost the same contribution to the construction of the functional canonical U1 variable, while the expenditure on food and non-alcoholic beverages and expenditure on clothing and footwear has the largest impact on the development of the functional canonical V1 variable.

Starch, protein and lipid are the most important nutrients in rice, and their composition and content in rice grains play a decisive role in the grain quality. Rice quality (including appearance quality, cooking quality, nutrition quality, grinding and processing quality, etc.) is not only affected by the composition of the nutrients in grain of rice, but also by the physical and chemical characteristics and their content in grains, but also vulnerable to external environmental conditions. To clarify the relationship between the main nutrients in rice and their grain quality traits is of great theoretical significance and potential application value for the continuous improvement of rice quality in the future. Therefore, this paper reviewed the effects of starch, protein, lipid and mineral elements in grain of rice and also on quality of trait in rice. It is also discussed the relationship between these nutrients and rice grain quality traits. All of those will provide important information for the quality of grain improvement and breeding of new varieties with high quality in rice.

Patients’ perceptions about health services, especially about service quality, are becoming increasingly important. It might shape confidence and subsequent behaviors with regard to their choice and usage of the available health care facilities. The study examines the primary satisfaction with a private hospital experience and estimate the effect that each of these construct will have on future behavioral intensions. More specifically, it measures patient’s perceptions of service quality and assesses the dimensions of service quality exert strongest influence on customer satisfaction. The study is based on primary data, which collected from outpatients in the ten selected private hospitals of Kathmandu valley via self-administered and structured questionnaire survey. Convenience sampling method is applied for the study that constituted of 200 outpatients from private hospitals. The present study is based on the SERVPREF model in which independent variables are tangibles, responsiveness, empathy, reliability and assurance whereas the dependent variable is overall satisfaction of the patients. The findings of this study show that 72 percent of the respondents are satisfied with the overall quality of the hospitals; 5 percent are dissatisfied and 18 percent are neutral. It also reveals that satisfaction of the outpatients is irrespective of their genders, age, income level and education. Among all constructs the most positive perceptions are seen in the assurance dimension of the hospitals followed by tangibles, responsiveness, reliability and empathy. Additionally, it is seen that responsiveness dimension is the most strongly correlated dimension with overall satisfaction; while the other dimensions have weak to moderate positive correlation. Overall, a positive relationship is found between patient’s perception of service quality and their satisfaction.

Journal of Business and Social Sciences Research, Vol. 2, No. 1 & 2, pp. 69-84

This chapter investigates the relationship between service quality of Baitul Maal wat-Tamwil (BMT) and the satisfaction of small and micro-enterprises in Indonesia with perceived benefits as the mediating variable. Primary data is collected from 454 small and micro-enterprises located in the western part of Jawa Island of Indonesia and the CARTER model is adopted to test the satisfaction of small and micro-enterprises upon the services provided by their patronized BMT as Islamic microfinance institutions. By using the structural equation model, the finding confirms that perceived benefits fully mediate the relationship between service quality of BMT and small and micro-enterprises' satisfaction.
