Online learning integrated with face-to-face learning called blended learning is believed to be more useful than online learning or face-to-face learning itself. Schoology as a Learning Management System implemented in blended learning can help teachers to manage class information. Schoology allows students and teachers to share information and provides access to content or administrative features of certain courses. However, despite the benefits of blended learning via schoology mentioned, EFL teachers are still unwilling to exploit blended learning via Schoology in their reading classes. This literature study reviews several papers investigating the benefits and challenges of blended learning via Schoology as a Learning Management System. The purpose of the study is to observe the benefits and the challenges of blended learning via Schoology. The data were collected through primary and secondary resources. It is expected that the findings will boost the EFL teachers’ attention in applying blended learning via Schoology in their classes, and draw the attention of EFL teachers in covering the challenges of blended learning via Schoology to improve students’ learning experiences. Kata kunci: komponen; Learning Mangement System, Pembelajaran Online, COVID-19   Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic requires the education sector to make various changes and innovations and adaptations for the implementation of the learning process to continue. The COVID-19 pandemic encouraged the education sector, especially universities, to make changes to the learning process model where the learning process moves from conventional or face-to-face learning in the classroom to online or online learning. Thus, faculty, lecturers and students must be ready to adapt and face breakthroughs and new challenges to the system changes in learning implemented by universities. Learning Management System (LMS) is one of the ways used by universities to support and manage online learning so that the teaching learning process continues well during the COVID-19 pandemic. The research method used in this study is a semi-descriptive quantitative method. Where the purpose in this study is to explain the utilization of Learning Management System as an online learning medium used during the COVID-19 pandemic. Learning Management System applications such as Google Classroom, Edmodo, Moodle, and SEVIMA Edlink and LMS developed by universities as well as provided by the government are very useful as online or online learning media during the COVID-19 pandemic. Where with this LMS application, the learning and communication system continues to run properly by utilizing the facilities available in the LMS application.   Keywords: Learning Mangement System, Online Learning, COVID-19

Coronavirus has affected not only the human health but also the educational sector. As a result of this pandemic, schools were forced to suspend face-to-face learning and implement an alternative method of learning which is online learning. The focus of this paper is to investigate the accessibility and efficiency of learning during the lockdown period. The paper examined the effectiveness of vodcast (video and podcast) lessons as a strategy in online teaching by using learning management system (LMS) and to what extent the strategy met the needs of the learners during the challenging period of the covid-19 pandemic. The study adopted mixed method research which consisted of three main phases of design. The questionnaire used in this study comprises 15 items and is divided into two sections and 50 participants participated in the study. The findings indicated that learners displayed positive perceptions towards the use of vodcast lessons during the pandemic period. Furthermore, they reported that online learning should be used to complement face-to-face teaching even after the pandemic period is over.

The objectives of writing this study were to: 1) to obtain the best methods and techniques in the limited face-to-face learning management system in Rantepao Christian Senior High School; 2) contributing advice to the school management team in order to improve the quality of learning during the Covid 19 pandemic; 3) contributing advice to educators and education personnel in order to improve face-to-face learning management during the COVID-19 pandemic. The method used in this writing is a qualitative method with a literature review approach and participant responses via google form to students and teachers at Rantepao Christian High School. In the analisis using the problem tree approach, target tree, and alternative solution tree in getting the expected results. The results show that the impact of a learning management system that is suitable for school conditions can provide time-effective and cost-efficient convenience for students and teachers in achieving learning objectives.   Keywords: learning management, face-to-face learning, Covid-19 pandemic

Blended learning combines the strength of face-to-face learning with e-learning, which has become the catalyst for education reform today. Unfortunately there are many obstacles that can derail this format of hybrid learning before it can reach its full potential, especially at universities where budgetary constraints inhibit the development of the information and communication infrastructure. This study seeks to capture students’ perceptions regarding web-based activities at a rural university. Purposive sampling was used to generate the sample and a combined total of 380 second- and third-year students participated in this study. Second- and third-year students were selected as it is expected that they have experienced the university learning management system and its shortcomings, and are hence in a posistion to compare the learning management system with social media platforms. The data collection instrument was a self-administered questionnaire, which was analysed using quantitative and qualitative methods. The findings indicate that students at the rural university preferred to engage in blended learning through social networking technologies, as opposed to the learning management system, which they found was mostly unavailable or inaccessible at their residences.

The learning management system (LMS) has become a critical tool for nearly all institutions of higher education, and a driving force in online learning. According to a 2014 report by the Educause Center for Analysis and Research, 99% of higher education institutions have an LMS in place, and the LMS is used by 85% of faculty and 83% of students. This was not always the case, however. There was a time in the not-so-distant past when using an LMS was considered highly innovative. Understanding the growth and adoption of the LMS is a stepping stone to understanding how faculty may choose to adopt other technological and pedagogical innovations. This study was conducted at a large, research-intensive public university in the Midwest, which has used the same LMS for 15 years. From a small pilot, adoption has grown to nearly universal use. This study used system logs and database queries to examine how faculty used the LMS. The results identified the features that were used most frequently and how usage had changed over time. In addition, the study compared the usage data for face-to-face and online courses to determine if there are differences in LMS use due to course modality. Based on this, it is possible to better understand the role the LMS plays in higher education and online learning, to inform development of next generation learning systems or other innovative technologies.
