Current demands of the healthcare industry require the use of information systems (IS) and information technologies (IT) to deliver care that is safe, patient centered, timely, efficient, and equitable. Successful development, implementation, and use of IT applications requires proper consideration of the hierarchy as well as synergy of each industry. In this work, a reliable secure and administrative cloud platform OncologyQuest has been developed to enhance the clinical service in radiation oncology. A case study used was automation of information data entry, reviewing, auditing and clinical approval cycles in radiation oncology intraoperative procedure of Prostate radioactive permanent seeds implant. Secure login and proper authorization using administration function for authenticating end users and granting them access to authorized services on the platform. Automation of data entry, reviewing, auditing and clinical approval cycles in radiation oncology intraoperative procedure has been achieved. That automation provides proper clinical approvals control to clinical multidisciplinary practitioners. OncologyQuest eased the dissemination of information during the procedure, enhanced information integration between oncology practitioners. Reliability and effectiveness of chartless documentation, successfully allowed appropriate communication regardless of geographic vicinity before, during and after the procedure.

The development of software in radiation oncology departments has seen the increase in capability from the Record and Verify software focused on patient safety to a fully-fledged Oncology Information System (OIS). This paper reports on the medical aspects of the implementation of a modern Oncology Information System (IMPAC MultiAccess®, also known as the Siemens LANTIS®) in a New Zealand hospital oncology department. The department was successful in translating paper procedures into electronic procedures, and the report focuses on the changes in approach to organisation and data use that occurred. The difficulties that were faced, which included procedural re-design, management of change, removal of paper, implementation cost, integration with the HIS, quality assurance and datasets, are highlighted along with the local solutions developed to overcome these problems.

My research explores the question: how can theorists better understand the ways in which planning technologies are used by municipal planners? In the case-study municipality, a recently introduced web-GIS technology had little demonstrable success in attaining two of its stated goals: enabling increased public access to municipal geographic information and encouraging planners to produce their own maps. My research links these outcomes not only to the technologies themselves, but to organizational structure and human agency. Planners and planning theorists can gain additional insight into the impact of planning technologies through closer attention to the process through which planners come to use information technologies and the way this process both alters and is constrained by existing organizational constraints, including previously adopted technologies.

As the world becomes increasingly interlinked through the Internet, cyberspace frauds are also on the rise. This is a case study on a company, Pyramid Cyber Security (P) Ltd., which specializes in digital crime, fraud and forensic solutions and services in India. Over the years, the company has established several digital forensics laboratories and security projects for agencies in law enforcement, the public sector and corporate organizations. With the scalability, flexibility and economic advantage offered by cloud computing, more and more organizations are moving towards cloud for their applications. With all the benefits of cloud computing, it also opens up a company to the danger of digital crime and security breaches on the cloud platform. This has thrown open new vistas for Pyramid, putting it in a dilemma of whether to focus on the existing business or explore new opportunities in cloud forensics investigation thrown by the wide acceptance of cloud computing. It also poses the question whether a company should go in for pre-incident or post-incident digital network security architecture. It is a teaching case.

Abstract Information-Integration is vital for keeping manufacturing operations competitive. A case study approach has been adopted to better understand the role of information in integrated manufacturing. Information is now considered a corporate asset. Creation, processing, movement, and security of information is therefore as important as that of the products/services of an enterprise. The case studies have helped in identifying the issues involved in developing an information system and supporting software framework for a manufacturing enterprise. The case studies have helped in refining an integration model, and identifying the characteristics desirable in modeling methodologies and tools. This paper describes a case study dealing with integrated manufacture of optical fiber products. A phased development and implementation approach was adopted where a small, manageable slice of the system is considered for the case study followed by functional modeling (IDEF0) and data flow modeling (Data Flow Diagrams). This identifies the pieces of information of interest. The information relationships are modeled using Extended Entity Relationship (EER) diagrams which are then mapped on to a relational model. The relational tables thus obtained were implemented on a commercial Database Management System. The functional constraints and application interfaces were then built using SQL and commercial application interface tools. The sections in the paper describe the functional models, data flow diagrams, EER diagrams, relational database design, and user/application interfaces developed for the system. Implementation experiences and observations are discussed followed by plans for the next phase of the system.

Additive manufacturing (AM) has experienced a phenomenal expansion in recent years and new technologies and materials rapidly emerge in the market. Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) becomes more and more important to take full advantage of the capabilities provided by AM. However, most people still have limited knowledge to make informed decisions in the design stage. Therefore, an interactive DfAM system in the cloud platform is proposed to enable people sharing the knowledge in this field and guide the designers to utilize AM efficiently. There are two major modules in the system, decision support module and knowledge management module. A case study is presented to illustrate how this system can help the designers understand the capabilities of AM processes and make rational decisions.

Branch of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) in Tanjung Perak is one of the institution body that appointed by the Government to carry out the collection and remittance of WAPU VAT according to PMK No. 85 / PMK.03 / 2012 (amended by PMK No. 136 / PMK.03 / 2012). WAPU VAT collection and deposit system are inefficient because it requires a lot of time and effort when it comes to input the data entry of tax invoice, printing Tax Deposit and sent it to Bank Perception. Three steps activities need to be done more than once. Therefore, Branch of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) in Tanjung Perak need the collection and remittance of the WAPU VAT system that sufficient to improve the efficiency of tax suboffices performance.This research aims to design the accounting information system for collecting and depositing process WAPU VAT. WAPU VAT Deposit using e-tax payment application are expected to overcome the problems that will arise in the WAPU VAT system deposit.Exploratory qualitative approach with case study method chosen in order to dig up the real problem occurs and find a solution. This research are expected to contribute significantly towards Branch of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) in Tanjung Perak as a research subject. This chapter presents an approach to the role of software engineering in developing solutions for new mobile technologies, like tablets. The research method is the case study conducted in industrial companies that use a digital catalog solution and sales force automation for tablets. For the last few decades there has been growing interest in making more integrated business decisions across larger segments of the logistic and distribution networks. Modern information technology is allowing this idea to be implemented, but there is need to develop a way of effective use of information technologies that support this business direction. In this paper a methodology to assist distribution networks reengineering with the aim of integrating logistic processes within the distribution supply chain has been promoted. The emphasis of methodology is on the business processes modelling and reengineering in the distribution network. Finally, this paper presents an oil company case study to illustrate how the methodology can be applied in practice.
