This article is devoted to the consideration of the results of the historical and ethnographic expedition of the staff and students of the Institute of History, Social Communications and Law of the Altai State Pedagogical University in the Alei region. The authors note the peculiarities of the expedition in a pandemic and characterize the collected materials in the main areas of its work. The results of the work are analyzed through research programs implemented by the UNIL "Center for Oral History and Ethnography".

This article is devoted to the consideration of field studies of the Tatar population of the Altai Territory in the 1990–2010s , conducted by the Center for Oral History and Ethnography of the Altai State Pedagogical University. The paper analyzes the main thematic areas of field research in cities and regions of the Altai Territory. In conclusion, the author analyzes the main results of research by the Center for Oral History and Ethnography of the Tatars of the region at the present stage.
