Human Factors and the Systems Development Process

Internet systems have the potential to reach a huge and unknown audience. How easy a system is to use will usually determine its success or failure and consequently the business and yet the human factors elements of systems are rarely considered. Usability describes the ease with which people can use a system to complete a task. It is often the case however that development teams focus more on the technology and less on the users when designing systems resulting in software that is not useable and therefore does not satisfy users’ need. This chapter presents recent research, which examines one approach to developing a web-based information system and demonstrates how the composition of the development team through the inclusion of people with an understanding of user needs is important to the quality of the final product and ultimately the success of the system.

The airport is one of the entry gates of a country, in the airport there are many work divisions that support and facilitate all existing activities, one of which is a cleaning service that has a large enough function that is to improve cleanliness and comfort in the airport area, cleaning services that exist when This is managed by the company and works with companies that focus on cleaning service in each terminal. The placement of the cleaning service area is still manual and takes a lot of time and involves several parts in the process, and inhibits in terms of time in the process of cleaning the area at the airport so that it can reduce the quality of services that have an inconvenience, to overcome the problem. which is currently running to find out the components of the problem that exist. The results to be achieved in this study is the application of a system that facilitates the process, namely by making an information system placement of web-based cleaning service work areas that is used as a reference in the system development process later. The analytical method used in this study uses the PIECES method, to assist in the process of analyzing the system that has been running. The Programming Language used in building this system uses PHP, MySQL as a database to store master data, transactions and users.

Abstract: In this era of globalization, information technology is speeding up. In managing the information required good technology because the information has a greatvalue for a company. And computer technology today with its increasingly sophisticated processing speed has enabled the development of computer-based information systems. Problems that exist in Kauman Apothecary is about the data processing that is still done manually, ranging from the admission process of incoming drugs, drugs out, often the absence of matching stock between the data with the original drug, as well as in making reports that still use microsoft excel. The design of the system is described by UML modeling, drug sales information system on web-based pharmacy kauman intranet this is the best solution, can improve the quality of data processing drugs in pharmacies kauman. And with the creation of this information system, can help simplify data processing moreleverage, while keeping data safe and minimize the data kerangkapan. The design of web-based drug sales information system is made using PHP and MySQL.Keywords: Information System, Sales, Kauman PharmacyAbstrak: Dalam era globalisasi sekarang ini, teknologi informasi melaju dengan cepatnya.Dalam mengelola informasi dibutuhkan teknologi yang baik karena informasi mempunyai nilai yang besar bagi suatu perusahaan. Dan teknologi komputer sekarang ini dengan kecepatan prosesnya yang semakin canggih telah memungkinkan pengembangan sistem informasi berbasis komputer. Masalah yang ada pada Apotek Kauman yaitu mengenai pengolahan data-datanya yang masih dilakukan secara manual, mulai dari proses penerimaan obat masuk, obat keluar, sering tidak adanya kecocokan stok antara data dengan obat aslinya, serta dalam membuat laporan yang masih menggunakan microsoft excel. Perancangan sistem digambarkan dengan pemodelan UML, sistem informasi penjualan obat pada apotek kauman berbasis web intranet ini merupakan solusi yang terbaik, dapat meningkatkan kualitas pengolahan data obat di apotek kauman. Dan dengan dibuatnya sistem informasi ini, dapat membantu mempermudah pengolahan data lebih maksimal, sekaligus menjaga data tetap aman dan meminimalisir adanya kerangkapan data. Perancangan sistem informasi penjualan obat berbasis web ini dibuat menggunakan PHP dan MySQLKata Kunci: Sistem Informasi, Penjualan, Apotek Kauman.


South Pringsewu is the name of a village located in Pringsewu district. This village has the main potential, namely agriculture and industry. To develop its potential it needs to be updated from the system that has been used in empowering the potential of the village manually and not yet using the information system even in the form of a website. The purpose of this research was to select South Pringsewu Village that has the potential of villages that need to be empowered using information technology. Information Technology is needed to facilitate the access, management and empowerment of village potentials, so that it is expected to be able to improve the progress and quality of South Pringsewu Village. The author conducted the research by observation, interview, and literature study methods and built web-based applications through the stages of planning, system analysis, system design and design, and system implementation using the PHP programming language

This chapter presents the structure of an index which serves as support so allowing the development team to create the specification of the context of use document for the development of Web applications, bearing in mind characteristics of usability and accessibility, each point of the index being explained in detail. A correct preparation of this document ensures the quality of the developed Web applications. The international rules and standards related to the identification of the context of use have been taken into account. Also, the functionality limitations (sensorial, physical, or cognitive) which affect access to the Web are described, as well as the technological environment used by disabled people (assistive technologies or alternative browsers) to facilitate their access to the Web content. Therefore, following the developed specification of the context of use, usable and accessible Web applications with their corresponding benefits can be created.

Attendance in the world of work is sometimes still done manually. At the Uyu shop, there are still problems that occur in recording and making attendance reports manually, such as mistakes in biodata, forgetting to record the date. Because the Uyu store still doesn't use a computerized employee or staff absence information system in managing data, so the information that can be processed is quite long and storage is not guaranteed safe. The purpose of this researcher is to create an information system that can manage attendance data for employees who work at the computerized Uyu Store and also implement a coloring method on attendance reports that generate reports based on the attendance coloring method according to employee attendance hours that are easy to understand. This method uses the coloring method as a solution to solving problems that can be solved in the greedy method, namely the color problem and the waterfall model as a system development process that uses UML design. The result of this research is that the system can operate attendance data collection as well as report employee data more efficiently and integrated.

The performance assessment of administration staff in the college did in order to improve the quality of the service process and internal continuous quality improvement. This study aims at the development of information systems web-based performance assessment. This system was built using the programming language PHP (Hypertext Processor) and MySql database, which is expected to provide a more efficient and effective in conducting this evaluation, all the colleges are trying to have an information system that not only presents a variety of important information, but also can perform the data processing. Assessmentof the performance is measurements made on various activities with the questioner. The results of the study give a rank of accumulation is obtained by calculating the second component of the assessment, the results of this can be seen anyone to find the highest rank to lowest. It is hoping that every values obtained can push Employees the administration in Lamongan Islamic university to improve its performance.

<p>ABSTRACT<br />The records officer at Maternity Clinic Sriati Sungai Penuh - Jambi in its management and reporting of patient data are still using manual systems. It has caused a delay in the delivery of information and report on daily data patients. Thus, it needs a system of web-based medical record information that can assist officers in the medical record of the patient data management processing. This system design method uses development life cycle (Systems Development Life Cycle-SDLC) which consists of planning, analysis, design, implementation, and use. Meanwhile, the purpose and benefits of the design of this information system is to produce a system of web-based medical record information in Maternity Clinic Sriati River Sungai Penuh - Jambi. With this information system, it eases medical records clerk in the management of patient data whichh includes patient registration process, the recording of patient medical records, physician data recording, data recording space, the search code ICD 9 CM and ICD code search 10. Hal ini menyebabkan terjadinya keterlambatan dalam penyampaian informasi dan pelaporan data harian pasien. Maka diperlukan sebuah sistem informasi rekam medis berbasis web yang dapat membantu petugas rekam medis dalam proses pengelolaan data pasien tersebut. Metode perancangan sistem ini menggunakan siklus hidup pengembangan sistem (Systems Development Life Cycle-SDLC) yang terdiri dari tahap perencanaan, analisis, desain, implementasi, dan penggunaan. Sedangkan tujuan dan manfaat dari perancangan sistem informasi ini yaitu menghasilkan sebuah sistem informasi rekam medis berbasis web di Klinik Bersalin Sriati Kota Sungai Penuh - Jambi. Dengan adanya sistem informasi ini, dapat memudahkan petugas rekam medis dalam pengelolaan data pasien yang meliputi proses pendaftaran pasien, pencatatan rekam medis pasien, pencatatan data dokter, pencatatan data ruang, pencarian kode ICD 9 CM, dan pencarian kode ICD 10. Quality test is a crucial phase in the system development process to ensure that system work as its requirement. Therefore, the Portal Kukerta (Kuliah Kerja Nyata) Universitas Riau, an information system to manage data and activities of Kukerta, needs to assess. In this research, Portal Kukerta has been assessed using the McCalls software quality framework. The aspect that is focused on this research is product operation. Product operation consists of correctness, usability, integrity, reliability, and efficiency. The data collected by distributing questionnaires to 67 participants. The results show that users give a positive response to two aspects, namely  efficiency 99.90% and usability 64%. However, for the reliability factor 43%, correctness 48%, integrity 56% get a neutral value that there are aspects that are considered less by the user. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the Kukerta portal is very efficient in managing the data of Kukerta University of Riau and can be easily used by users. However, in terms of reliability, correction, and integrity need to be improved. The implication of the research are (1) providing a reference in assessing quality of a software and (2) specifically providing a recommendation for Portal Kukerta Universitas Riau for their system improvements.
