A nanocasting method using SBA-15 as a hard template was adopted to prepare mesoporous nanocrystalline ANbO3 (A = Li, Na, and K) samples. The characteristics of samples werecharacterized by techniques such asXRD, N2-sorption measurement, HRTEM and UVDRS. It was found that thealkality of the alkali metals could have profound impacts on the synthesis andthe physical properties of samples. The Li, Na, and K precursors can reacteasily with the siliceous template, and the reactivity varies with the alkalityof the alkali metal. The synthesis of KNbO3 is unsuccessful because of the high alkality ofK. The templated LiNbO3 andNaNbO3 consist of single crystalline nanoparticles that generate interparticle mesoporosity. The LiNbO3andNaNbO3 samples showed notably enhanced photocatalytic activitiesfor 2-propanol photodegradation in comparison to the counterparts prepared bythe solid state reaction.

In this paper, the Y145 superconductor doped Ag2O were synthesized by solid state reaction. The calcinations and sintering temperature were at 920 °C and annealing temperature was at 550 °C. The highest critical temperature was in Y145+0.1Ag sample with Tc onset at 96 K and the lowest was found in pure Y145 at 95 K. We found that the surface of Y145 superconductor was improved by Ag adding on the porous structure.

Polycrystalline sample of the reduced barium titanate Ba4Ti12O27 was prepared by solid state reaction in Ar atmosphere. The magnetic susceptibility was nearly temperature independent in the range of 75-300 K, suggesting the Van Vleck Paramagnetism. The temperature dependence of the electric conductivity does not obey any Arrhenius type behavior.

Potassium chromium aluminium diarsenate, KCr1/4Al3/4As2O7, was prepared by solid-state reaction. The structure consists of (Cr1/4/Al3/4)O6octahedra and As2O7diarsenate groups sharing corners to build up a three-dimensional anionic framework. The potassium cations are located in wide channels running along thec-axis direction. The crystal structure is isostructural with the triclinicAIMIIIX2O7(AI= alkali metal;MIII= Al, Cr, Fe;X= As, P) compounds. However, theMIIIoctahedrally coordinated site is 25% partially occupied by chromium and 75% by aluminium.
