Regarding the liquid-air hammer rod as the research object, the equivalent stress contour of the hammer rod has been obtained through transient dynamics simulation analysis of the hammer rod impact process by using finite element method. This paper has studied node rate response in different positions of the hammer rod to provide evidence for structure design of this kind of impact members.

A vehicle model and a movable-point simple turnout model were established, and the influences on dynamic responses caused by turnout irregularities when train passes through No.18 turnout was analyzed by using the turnout dynamics simulation software based on finite element method. It shows that turnout dynamic responses are influenced by the combined effects of various types of irregularities, which produce bigger dynamic response than single irregularity. In the turnout devise and use, the distance between slide plate and switch rail or nose rail should be as close as possible, the position arrangements of traction points should be optimized and the insufficient displacement should be eliminated as much as possible; No.18 turnout structure design is reasonable, which can ensure the safety and the stability when train passes over turnout.

Lifting padeyes are widely used in the construction of offshore structures and ships. It has been shown that the traditional check method cannot reflect the realistic value and distribution of actual stress on the padeyes. A more accurate method for the padeye stress calculation is essential and important for promoting the safety of the padeyes. In this paper, a new check formula is proposed based on the analysis of deformation and external loads distribution on lifting padeyes. The results of finite element method and the solutions of traditional check formula and new check formula are compared. It is shown that, by applying the stress check formula derived in the paper, the value and the location of the dangerous stresses occurred can be evaluated easily and exactly. The safe reliability of structure design can be improved significantly.

Nowadays, the complexity of electrical power systems is increasing. Consequently, the occurrence and the amplitude of the fault current are rising. This fault currents harm the substations’ electrical equipment. Besides, the growth in the fault current level is forcing the change of the circuit breakers to others with a higher interruption capability. A proposal to solve this problem is the fault current limiter (FCL). This equipment has low impedance in the normal operation and high impedance in a short circuit moment. Superconductors are an advantageous choice of material in this case, because of their properties. In order to simulate this equipment, the 2-D Finite Element Method (FEM) has been used. In this paper, a novel FEM simulation analysis of the saturated core Superconductor Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) is proposed using the A-V-H formulation. The current distribution in the superconducting coil is observed. The results are compared to the limited fault current measurements and simulations available in the literature.

For the large centrifugal fan impeller, its working condition generally is bad, and its geometry generally is complex. So its displacements and stresses distribution are also complex. In this paper, we can obtain the fan impeller’s displacements and stresses distribution accurately through numerical simulation in G4-73 type centrifugal fan impeller using the finite element method software ANSYS. The calculation result shows that the maximum total displacement of the impeller is m, it occurs on the position of the half of the blade near the outlet of the impeller; and the maximum equivalent stress of the impeller is 193 MPa, it occurs on the contacted position of the blade and the shroud near inlet of the impeller. Furthermore, check the impeller strength, the result shows that the strength of the impeller can meet the requirement.

The fishing deck machinery is the tools used to collect fish in fishing activities. Fishing deck machinery is intended to improve the effectiveness of fishing operations. The mission of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fishery Year 2015-2019 in the Regulation of the Minister of Marine and Fisheries No. 45/PERMEN-KP/2015 which is a priority is to provide assistance for fishing facilities for fishermen; it is necessary to develop and optimize fishing deck machinery. To assure the safety and dependability of these fishing deck machinery, calculations, simulation and functional tests are needed. This paper discusses the prediction of structural failure in the design of fishing deck machinery a hydraulic type with finite element method simulation approach. The results of the FEM simulation analysis are (i) the maximum value of von-Mises stress is greater than the ultimate tensile strength of the material; (ii) 1st principal stress value minimum is smaller than the ultimate tensile strength of material; (iii). the Poisson ratio value higher than the Poisson ratio value of the material. Base on the simulation result, the structural design of fishing deck machinery is safety.

Chassis on the vehicle serves as the main weight support vehicle. Designing a precise chassis will give optimal results between the safety level and the size of the construction, so that finite element simulation analysis is required to know how strong the chassis sustains the load on it. The purpose of this research is to get the result of chassis simulation on UM electric car when getting the loading by using ANSYS 18.1 software. As for the step this study started from chassis modeling using Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018 software and finite element simulation using static structural feature in software ANSYS 18.1. From the simulation result obtained Equivalent Stress 59,983MPa, Equivalent Elastic Strain 33,25x10-5 mm / mm Total Deformation 2,43mm and safety factor 3,55.
